I live in Austin mn when I was young the Milwaukee rail road had engine house roundtable and a big yard mostly for the hormel company. The more I watch you and your ho rail road the more I want to build one and it will be the Milwaukee road

Milwaukee Road would be great for that track plan! Very industrial. Keep me posted.

I love your track plan Paul! I don't want mine to be too similar to yours however, there is only so much you can do on an L-shaped layout with several industries and yard facilities. It's looking like mine will be 12'-14'x24" on one side and 8'-12'x24" on the other. I would also like to incorporate 2, commuter stations - one on each end of the L. I live by CN tracks, which supports GO Train service to Downtown Toronto. I could not live with myself if I did not have a GO Train on my layout. I just picked up my first set of Rapido GO coach and cab cars today. This will pair nicely with my Rapido F59PH engine that I recently purchased. My had is swimming with ideas and I hope I have not bitten off more than I can chew. Thank you for the video Paul!

If you have the space, go for a bigger layout! On mine, I can operate for 4hrs and still have switching to do. It’s just right for me. The Goldilocks of layout designs ;) Just be sure when you lock down your design, it’s not bigger than you want or need to manage. Complexity and cost can overtake enjoyment pretty quickly. I have a Rapido engine. Outstanding detail! It’ll be fun having GO trains.

@@HartfordWhaler I'm going for the largest that I can fit into the space. It will definately be a long-term build and will keep me busy for the long haul. I'm looking forward to laying down some track.

Looks like it is a well designed switching layout in confined space. I must say, after watching 1k plus videos (probably more), I have never heard of anyone 'selling their plan'. Had to do a double take as thought was humor. I understand the labor of love etc but this is a first for me. Good luck with that!

Everything is for sale at the right price. I don’t expect takers. I learned to do it myself when I was quoted $300 by a guy to design my initial plan. Hopefully my video gives enough insight for people to copy it on their own.

@@HartfordWhaler Wow, $300? That sounds like cost for around the room layout! By a pro designer none the less, I hear ya. Looking forward to following the build!

"Carbon paper" - I wonder how many of your younger viewers are scratching their heads and wondering what that is. 🤣

@HartfordWhaler I still have a stockpile from the 1980s, typing my school reports in duplicate on a 1950s Royal typewriter.
