So I had these problems: 1. nothing spawning, solution: reloging in the game or waiting a day and night cycle or both; 2.only cats: iron golem spawned in a cave, solution: either build a new one or search the cave and fill in with blocks; 3: iron golems spawning around the farm: spawnproof 4 more blocks in each direction with slabs or leaves and kill the iron golems that are walking around, hope this helps
@@SA1Music so you can youse shears and get some leaves from trees or you craft slabs, than you place these leaves/slabs 4 steps around the rectangle you build for the iron farm yk
I just made this and after adding a wider border of leaves around the edge (the golems kept spawning outside) it works beautifully. I was able to nudge the outside ones into the trap after I read the comments to increase the border width.
@@SA1Music no what he means is expand leaves on top so the iron golems spawn INSIDE the hole to make you understand it, basically iron golems can't spawn on leaves, therefore i suggest u fill in leaves everywhere they spawn besides the hole
@SA1-MUSIC I meant around the outside heading away from the hole - although that isnt working now. They are still spawning outside and have to be nudged in. Or I hit them and jump in the hole. I get dead but the hopper collects my inventory and I have a bed right next to it. A proper solution would be great if anyone has any ideas
**For anyone having an issue with Golems spawning** 1. Check for caves under your spawner. I had one under mine and found it after reading some comments on this thread. 2. I had golems spawning before all my villagers grew up. Had some nitwits, killed them off, waited for new villagers to grow up, and then finished the build. No golems were spawning. Uncovered the villagers and realized I somehow had 21 villagers (only 20 beds and job tables). I killed the one jobless villager (number 21) and rebuilt the rest of the trap and it started working immediately. Hope this helps
I had to build this twice. The first time nothing worked at all. Turns out it was caves underneath so I decided to build it over the ocean where everything is above sea level by a couple blocks and it works beautifully.
Alright, this is an edit. But the farm works for me and here is something that you could do: If you tame 5 cats near the farm, then it will only spawn iron golems and no cats will spawn in the farm. It might increases the rate of iron golems spawning
If you are having trouble getting iron golems to spawn (like me) you might want to unstack the beds and make sure the villagers can get to them, then that should hopefully resolve the problem with spawning
Was able to use this design to expand up to 30 villagers as of now, 10 for trading hall 20 for iron farm. In process of increasing to 40 with intent to hit at least 50. Made some slight alterations but same basic dimensions and layout. Would love to link up and show you. Also, I did this in an ocean monument :D 😀
Been looking for an underground design for ages, will give this a shot. Will also be trying to make multiple floors by stacking villages on top of each other (yes, it's possible!!). Want to add a water elevator to move al liron golems up and then make them fall down on an outside area so i can have the collection area at ground level and make it pretty. It's also cool to see many iron golems drop down in lava. Underground seems like such an easier way to create iron farms instead of the popular above ground one. Way less materials needed also.
Getting all the villagers before hand might be a little frustrating but Im betting you already have a video on your channel for the easiest breeding. I know you said carrots but Ive never tried that so thank you.
Use bread, I just finished building the whole thing and it actually works, start with 2 villagers; It should take about hour and a half to get all villagers, just make sure the villagers actually pick up the job, you can start with the green villagers but after that they all need to have a job, just kill the green villagers after
@@manueljuarez1552 it doesn't take an hour if u have around 2 stacks of bread which u can easily find like 25 hay bails at a village, the only thing that is time consuming is getting the villagers. USE BREAD, as it only takes 3-4 to make the villagers breed

Great video, but if you cant get iron golems to spawn make sure that the villagers can get to the bed and if you made it on a hill spawn proof the area with slabs.
great farm... nice and easy theres two built in my realm near base. one above ground and one below. i made the underground one dug a 20x20 hole and 14 deep to cover the entirety of the possible golem spawn radius plus alil extra for good measure... started the build w a 5x5 3 block high platform and then placed the beds and working stations just as directed in the vid. bred the villagers and noticed golems started spawning 2 at a time after only 8 villagers were linked... decided that was enough needed and built the kill chamber as shown... filled every possible place i could step on with leaves and everything has been gucci since XD
so out of curiosity why are fletching tables used instead of any other workbench? i assume its something to do with them not having any functionality, but not sure how that would affect the build.
I used composters because it was easy to build 20 of them, but then I didn't realize that the villagers actually go into the holes of the composters. But to fix it I just added trapdoor over every composter and then I had to make the roof out of slabs and then add another layer of solid block on top and increased the height of the top part where the water goes. It was a lot of work for all that but what they heck would I do with 20 extra composters lol. For simplicity I would go with a workbench thats easy to make and doesn't have a hole in it lol

I tried to follow the tutorial with all of the villagers and got them in their own space, the farm was working fine, and then the golem spawns started being delayed. Like really delayed, and for like 30 minutes, none spawned Does anyone know why.
it works, just make sure the farm is 150Blocks away from other villagers/village and also make sure there isnt a cave nearby If you done everything i told you it should work perfect

I don't think so as he says to place them 180 blocks away from a village n the farm is counted as a village but you could increase the size to make the iron golems spawn faster

i used all looms super easy on the resources ... the type of jobs dont matter as long as at least 3 out of every 4 villagers are linked up and working... could be all the same could be different professions. just make sure they can get to the workstation

Figured it out. For anyone else with the same issue, ensure you don't put the sign directly above the fire on the block where the chest will go below. Otherwise it won't work
Is 20 villagers the max amount thats allowed ? What if i expand it and make it with 20 villagers x 4 sides of the same concept but it all meets in the middle , Would that still work and speed up the proccess? or would it just break the farm
I expanded it by building the exact same farm next to it, making it all conected (one big room for 40 villagers and all the golems went into one trap), and I didnt have any issues. It doubled the amount right away, so your idea should work as well I believe

if all 20 villagers are already there... try breaking all the beds and workstations and put them back one by one but make sure they all link back and you see the "green sparkles" after putting back each bed and workstation (should show right away but sometimes can take up to a minute) if they are not linking it means there are other beds or workstations too close to where your build is. also make sure there are no more than 20 villagers... could even be less as long as the majority of them are linked to workstations and have access to walk to it
I just spent hours in survival building this, it worked right up until the first 2 golems burned up. Its been over an hour and still no more golems. :(
I think I was standing and working in the chunk beside my farm and not in the same chunk. Grab an empty locator map, stand on the leaf boarder and then open it to make sure you and your farm are inside the same chunk on the map. That's all I can think it might have been.
I was building this in my underground cave base, and it doesn't even work. I have the right amount of villagers, there's no caves underneath, etc. There aren't any iron golems spawning at all.

figured out a way to check for caves make a creative copy of ur world and find an area with no caves

Like with most farms you need to be in render distance of it for it to do something. Hope that helps.

professions don't matter, i Hodge-podged mine together and had the same rates

they have to be atleast 120 blocks apart from each other as multiple together will only count as 1

As long as the villagers can’t leave and you make sure you spawn proof around the route you get in it should theoretically work perfectly

A golem spawned in with the villagers but when I put torch in the center, added their ceiling and made the rest they stopped spawning. Any ideas?
coz they need a 3 block height to spawn so as soon as u put on the roof they stopped spawning
Place slabs in the villager area and remove the ceiling you just made

if all 20 villagers are already there... try breaking all the beds and workstations and put them back one by one but make sure they all link back and you see the "green sparkles" after putting back each bed and workstation (should show right away but sometimes can take up to a minute) if they are not linking it means there are other beds or workstations too close to where your build is. also make sure there are no more than 20 villagers... could even be less as long as the majority of them are linked to workstations and have access to walk to it

Would this farm work underground?
I just spent hours in survival building this, it worked right up until the first 2 golems burned up. Its been over an hour and still no more golems. :(

I think I was standing and working in the chunk beside my farm and not in the same chunk. Grab an empty locator map, stand on the leaf boarder and then open it to make sure you and your farm are inside the same chunk on the map. That's all I can think it might have been.

Does this work on java?
There was no caves, green, or baby villagers and it just spawns cats with the villagers. How do you fix this problem?
Place and replace the beds (that’s what worked for me)
tame 5 cats and put them nearby the farm
How much blocks do u need to be for the farm ro work?

It works omg about time btw it took me about 1-2 hours to breed the villagers
I was building this in my underground cave base, and it doesn't even work. I have the right amount of villagers, there's no caves underneath, etc. There aren't any iron golems spawning at all.
Same man no caves underneath my but it still isn't working
