Hi. Nice video! Please I have some questions that you might help me with. I have a Schwinn Santis and the bottom bracket looks a lot like this one. 1. Is this bike in the video also a Schwinn bike? If so would you know if this uses the same bottom bracket of a Schwinn Santis? 2. What is the internal diameter of the bottom bracket housing on the frame of the bike on the video (where you screw in the bottom bracket itself)? 3. I believe the Santis also uses a non sealed bottom bracket. If so, I would like to replace mine with a sealed one. Please which Shimano sealed bottom bracket part would you recommend? 4. Do you have the link to the tool kit that you mentioned from Amazon? Thank you very much for your time and support! Fabio
What to do if bearing is loose and is falling out? How can i tighten it? Its almost as if bearing became too small od something, this ring that tightens on doesnt really help
If its the bearing that came with the bike then its probably worn out or missing some ball bearings. Take it out and look at it really close. I would replace it either way, if your questioning it and your that far in why chance it. Hope that helps.
I have a plain walmart schwinn ranger, the bearings were ate up in nothing left. How do I know what size to get, the model # calls for a 12 bearing but I can't seem to find one.
Thats the next repair to do on my E bike,Got to take the whole crank out,Replace the ball bearnings and the chain,Also check through the whole bike,Getting it cleaned up,Be fully service repaired,Just replaced the both innertubes and tires on it,Glad no longer putting up with any more punchers
I have always took the bearing out of old mountain bikes people have thrown away. 99% of the time bearings and casing are in perfect condition I don't no what this guy does😁
Everything just goes back in the order you take them out, no pressing required. The crank arms are pressed on by the crank arm bolt when you tighten it, after a ride around the block they will probably be due another tightening.
@@mechanicvance2480 not if it's done correctly. You also have to make sure you use bike bearing grease in the casing where bearings are held. Put back together tight and it will work fine. That's what I have always done. Buddy forgot to mention this.
I'm a former Army mechanic and totally forgot about the old hammer trick. Thank you.
Yeah, sometimes the inertial impacting device is needed….they never let us do that in the Air Force 😉, must be the country in me haha.
@mechanicvance2480 Thanks for reminding me of its technical name. For the record, the Army allowed us (when no one was looking). 😆

Does that last big bearing nut always turn anti clockwise ro loosen? I'm having major drama with it slipping off the teeth.

Be careful with E bikes, they can get quite fiddly with the motor
Thank you!!!!!
@@jesserenee6948 glad to help, if you have to do this I would buy the kit….even today.
Belize ya I try to make that gaged to remove crank arm
Great video. Where did you find bearings to replace the old ones?

So this socket wrench. why didn't you say the size so other people no.
Was it easy replace all the items back into place? Do new bearings slide right in easily or do they need to be pressed in?
