What’s worse is how media outlets are more than happy to consider both Ange and Arteta’s criticisms of the calls in their respective games but say NIL about the penalty shout that should’ve been for us 😡
The ref didn’t see a problem when Gordon went down but eventually saw that Gordon had blood coming from his face and stopped the game because we now have a clear indication of a head injury. Could the ref have asked questions by viewing var to see exactly how we were now witnessing a clear head injury despite that play on and then Maddison falls down at the other end gets a free kick and Botman gets a yellow 🤔
For real. Kulusevski's assault on Anthony Gordon wasn't even called a foul, and that baffles me. It was a borderline red card offense. I thought it was intentional, but that's irrelevant because when it comes to fouls and discipline, intent doesn't particularly matter. Every player has the responsibility not to endanger other players, and the kindest interpretation of that foul is that Kulu abdicated his. And that was only the worst example of a refereeing performance that gave Spurs many kind calls. Nothing wrong with either of those goals, and anybody who says there was doesn't understand what the word *directly* means.
I agree that Tino and Burn were brilliant, but I'll throw another one in and say Bruno Guimaraes was absolutely outstanding. His vision and passing was sublime and yet again his heat map was insane. Also Ange's rant was bloody ridiculous...He winged on and on saying if it was an equal playing field they would've won - well I'm sorry but it was an equal playing field and they lost fair and square. Ange needs to learn the rules of football and then he'll understand why Gordon's goal stood. Also there were many fouls given against us that were not fouls at all, yellows that weren't even fouls let alone yellows, Gordon should've had a stone wall penalty that wasn't even looked at, and Spurs were able to play THIRTEEN minutes of added time when 10 was already very contentious...and you've got big Ange throwing his toys out the pram about not having an equal playing field!? Its disgraceful
Told you Botman would be in from the start. He is easily our best defender in the team. Sure he was not settled for the first 10 minutes but he was a rock for the rest of the next 80. Kelly has no chance coming ahead of him. BDB would be the one to lose his position once Botman has a few games under his belt. I feel like opposition players are targeting Gordon but fouling him with violence that does not involve a tackle. I hope he is not intimidated. Gordon is a gem and our most important signing along with Isak and Bruno. Dubravka did well today and the way he was finding Lewis Hall with accurate long ball pings was delightful. Made our attack quicker instead of lumbering. One criticism is we are still misfiring in front of goal. Isak is the most guilty one, under hitting his passes or not being aware of his colleagues. Gordon too! That needs to change. Murphy is doing well in this regard, as his opting to pass more instead of shooting. Tonali was a joy in the closing stages in how cleverly he kept possession. Willock did well after coming on leading the line and scrapping. The team looks gassed and with Bruno and Schär still out, most of today's lads have to go again. I think having Willock in from the start and maybe Miggy and Trippier should give us more steel against Arsenal. We just need to defend and nick a goal.
Great video and safe travels back hyem. I thought the Gordon incident was a penalty and the ref should have been called to the monitor. Look at the BHAFC vs Arsenal penalty award very similar. I thought Tino and Lewis firmly put the names in the England frame today with those performances.
Feels like a huge win today, win ugly. Burn was again incredible as was Tino. Cannot wait for Tuesday, not been to the emirates for years, I feel we will get something from the game
Schar also offers long diagonal balls into space for gordon from the defence, which is key for relieving pressure and we could have done with in the second half today. That said, burn has been class and it's great to have botman back!
@@dondatta13 Yes, Botman was great coming back from ages out, and can play those diagonals (though better left to right). However, with Schar back I would still prefer him at RCB to any other player in our squad. Botman has a chance to get some gametime under his belt and work back to claiming the LCB position
Second place anyone? It would be really nice if we started to put these teams to bed first half from now on. What I would say is that if you look at the second half without the anxiety it’s not as fingernail biting as if you’re a toon fan looking on. I watched it with a neutral and he was saying to me that “spuds won’t score - they were just hogging the ball but the doing nowt with it”. They had a couple of half decent chances but so did we first half and didn’t take them either. We were better than them and we won.

Standard of refs, shocking week in week out, hear it from all fan groups, but human error and bias, no matter what that is human nature and kicks in subconsciously. Lets not get AI involved 😇
Hall, Gordon, Tino, Burn and Murphy all deserve an England call up and I'd be buzzing for them all if they did but especially Murphy and Burn as no one ever gave them a chance
What you said. Two away games that were by no means easy and six points. Happy with that, Dan was excellent, so was Tino, Bruno was superb. Our midfield is purring at the moment.
I think Pope would of saved the goal & Botman was unlucky after great cross but great to see Jordan & ISAK score again. Ref gave us all the yellow cards & didn't book the spuds when obviously should have! Good result & gained 2 points on Chelsea after thier draw. HTL ❤
@peterharper511 possibly quick reaction dive & punch it wide, seen him do it before but ok looking at it again it would've had to of been a world class save and although Pope is a better stopper there are things he doesn't do aswell as Dubravka so plenty to work on & I'm sure he will.
I thought that Ange had the air of a man in trouble. It reminded me of O’Neil at wolves and his last post game presser. In that instance, O’Neil started to make excuses and blamed his players and Ange instead looked for excuses in the refereeing and his bluster was just trying to distract from his shit run of form snd his lack of plan B. I actually really like AP and I hope the spuds sack him and he goes somewhere else. What people don’t understand about NUFC is that we have a collective memory of being the ‘Entertainers’ and what a Sisyphean nightmare it was. So, we’ll give them no more sympathy and understanding than they gave an injury depleted and exhausted side that they beat here last season and let them be the new entertainers if they like. They’re welcome to it.
Sorry Ange, hard to have sympathy for a club run by Daniel levy - the orchestrator of the most divisive cartel of clubs who along with the premier league is designed to hamstring any opposition to their gang of six. Tough mate.
One point not about Ange. Providing rumours are correct Martin Dubravka is about to leave after the Arsenal match on Tuesday. If so I would charge the Newcastle hierarchy, including Eddie Howe with gross negligence. Our defensive form has coincided with calm, excellent distribution of the ball by Dubravka. No Popesqe panic, no booting ball anywhere. If we are about to revert to this quality of goalkeeping then I suggest our quest for a Champions League place may evaporate. The rewards from Champions League qualification far exceeds the cost of extending Dubravka’s contract. Not only that we would stand a far greater chance of keeping our “elite” players. Hopefully not too late so extract the digit Newcastle!!

Gordon's finishing can be infuriating at times I was screaming at the tv get your knee over the ball keep the shot down only for him to balloon the ball over when the game was there to be killed off. Isak can be similar they both can score incredibly hard chances and miss sitters.
Isak looking gassed every second half is not his fault, he has no one good enough to fight for his place, the club need to do something soon to stop a crisis happening at a random point. He needs to rest every now and then.
Making post-match statements like that is just a symptom of how poor (inconsistent) spurs have been, the pressure on them and the toxic attitude building at spurs. Yeah the decision for big Joes goal was borderline but at the end of the day they are 12th and that isn't because the Ref gave our goal today so spurs only have themselves to blame for where they are in the league this season. No sh*t he's wrong. Big Ange's brain is broken, mate. With three victories in four against him, Newcastle played a bit part in the breaking, but Spurs themselves deserve most of the credit.
The foul on Gordon was a carbon copy of the van Dijk foul in Newcastle, these players know what they are doing!!! A great win at a hard place to go and thats the bottom line.
Here is a question. Concentrate on trying to take advantage of our league position and play a ‘weakened’ team against Arsenal or risk losing with a tired strong team and continue with tired team losing form in prem and dropping down the league. 🤔

Has anyone mentioned the foul on Gordon in the penalty area, when he had his nose smashed. That was surely a penalty. So the Tottenham manager can’t complain.
I thought the Gordon incident was a penalty and sending off from the replays - Gordon was wiped out clumsily at best or intentionally at worst either way a penalty. Ange was clearly delusional. Impressive streetwise performance especially in the 4 hours of extra time created from the referee who blew mid attack at St James when Newcastle were 2 against 1 against Liverpool. Very strange.
Ange is just salty. We have bullied, beaten and smashed spurs in 5 of the last 6 meetings. Only time they beat us was during our injury crisis. Spus and the sport media need to get comfortable with the fact than newcastle are a better side and we aren't going away!
I'm starting to believe its a tactic, 100% 45mins get the lead, then frustrate, take a goal on the break where possible.
