This and the R7 video combo are just what I’ve been looking for! I enjoy motorsport and wildlife photography and use a 77D with a Canon 100-400 L Mk 2. I’ve been looking at the Sigma 30mm as I find my Canon 50mm 1.8 too tight when photographing family around the house. I was looking at the R7 and Sigma 30mm combo as an alternative to full frame as the R7 will suit my motorsport and wildlife perfectly! 👍🏼
great video, this lens is fantastic on the R7, eye autofocus is spot on. Just a troubleshooting solution worth noting if it arises, mine was working great for a few weeks, then at some point I experienced this weird white ring in all my images and viewfinder, took me bit to find out that somehow the lens abberation correction somehow got toggled within camera settings. I switched it off and now its good again.

thanks for the great video, i've found a used one for about 200€ XDD but in excellent state, so thanks to you i could've decide to go for it or not, the photos looks amazing with this lens
This lens did work on my EOS RP in full frame mode, it covered the full frame sensor with significant vetting (I was impressed), however when I updated the firmware, it deflated to typical crop mode for APSC sensors on full frame cameras. I was very disappointed to have upgraded the firmware, I cant reverse it. I now use it with a speed booster on my EOS M200 as a web cam. I don't have EOS-R speed booster, but would love to know if this works on the ROS-R APSC cameras with a speed booster or Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x.
Great review and exactly what I was looking for. I am definitely gonna grab this as my first lens, for my first camera- the Canon 77D. Any suggestions for lens hoods?
I shot the non art version of this lens for like 6 years almost exclusively on my trusty 40D. Might get one again since 18-35 is just too heavy on R7 (did not appear that way on 77D though, must be due to overall length)

Hello, and thank you! Your 6D Mark II is a full-frame camera so you would want to buy the full-frame equivalent to this lens which would be something like the Sigma 35mm f1.4 for EF mount. This lens is meant for APS-C size sensors.
Great video but i have one more question i get the canon r7 the same sigma lense 30 mm 1.4 and also the canon adpter but the lense doesnt fit in the adapter. how do you mount yours ?

I don’t own any type of speedboosters but this lens works fine on my full-frame R6 as well as the R7 with just the regular EF to R adapter.

The 18-35 is a heavy lens and then when you add on the adapter it does become a little front heavy...I still love the image it produces though!

Thank you! When mounting the lens to the adapter you want to line up the white dot on the lens with the red dot on the adapter and it will work.
would this lens be good for my m50 I could pick it up for 189€ and since the 18-35 is hard to find I´m looking for another lens
This lens would be good for the M50 but you would need an adapter to go from EF mount to EF-M mount.
Yeah got the adapter but my only worry is that 18-35 will get cheaper

It works with my R6 and R7 so it should work fine with the R10.
