I dont think so. It has been tried many times, those runs are not that uncommon, and you can find plenty of videos with helmet mounted gopros. Thing is you cant see as much as you think from such an angle. It would likely be a mixture of snow and the tip of his skis and sky and nothing else.
Never really understood the fascination of this type of skiing. First you walk up a huge mountain. Second, you enjoy the view which can be seen from many ski resorts. Third you race down a steep part where the risk for avalanche is high.
Many years ago, I skied all the famous mountain ski areas all over the world, and even heli-skied a couple of times, but NOT to the extent I see in the above video! Avalanches are deadly and take lives every year. There are places where they shoot cannons off to break off those ice shelves and snow banks, but it can still be dangerous. I know I wouldn't chance it now -- as you age, you take less chances with your life! I would never ski off a giant cliff like they do now -- for one things, I have a great respect for heights and have always had acrophobia since I was a child, have had to deal with it and overcome it at times, but you never completely get over it. I learned to fly years ago and it helped a lot, but that motor under you really helps! I still can't stand on the edge of something really high with no rail, because you get that feeling that it's going to pull you off and down!
