Here's what's driving me absolutely nuts right now... I use the water, pump turns on, then once at pressure it turns off. 30 -60 seconds later it turns back on, runs for a minute, then turns back off. Repeats this a few times then stops until I use the water again. Any suggestions on what could be causing this? Pump is only a few months old, changed the filter out, replaced all tap washers, but still stops and starts..

By "chatter" do you mean when it makes a rapid clicking sound? My pump stopped working & when I went outside to check, I pulled up on the cable supplying power to the little box & it turned the pump on. Happened twice in the past few weeks. Then it went out again tonight. I got a flashlight and checked it. Did the same thing, pulling on the cable (which seems to reset it). Pump started running but as I was walking away I heard rapid clicking, then the motor running normally, then the rapid clicking, then it shut off again & wouldn't come back on.
In the past this has been caused by a short from damaged wires (my wires get fried by power surges because my power company sucks).

i just saw at home depot that they have whole house surge protectors, think it was under 100 bucks. guess youre not the only one with crap power company if they are sellling these now!

@@TRUMP_WAS_RIGHT_ABOUT_EVRYTHNG Yeah, I got one but need to get it installed. Problem is I can't seem to figure out where the power for my pump is coming from and I think it's on a breaker that exists before the lines enter the house. And yeah, you're not alone.

Mines doing the same at first I thought it was the power wire I ended up changing the switch and it's still doing it! Honestly hope it isn't my electric that's messed up

I'm in FL, now the winter has dropped temps to 30-40 F and my pressure switch started clacking as if trying to start even though there's pressure above the switch on level of 30 psi. It goes, clack clack... Clack clack at if trying to start. Any idea? Thanks

Im getting 148V on my new pressure switch. does it make sense? I would assume it should be either 230 or 115V, am I wrong?

Hey! Im sure you've solved it or tapped by now, but i think the issue is you need to adjust the cut in and cut on PSI for your switches. And to that you need to know the cut in and cut on PSI for your pump. Mine 40 psi cut on and 60psi cut off. If you're looking st the switch from the top down, in the direction that the wires come in, the big nut on too of the spring is the "range" turn that clockwise to increase the cut on PSI. The smaller nut to the left is the "differential" turn that clockwise to increase cut on PSI. Reverse it on both to decrease. Make sure to look it up yourself because i could have range and differential swapped.

I noticed there is a 'snubber' on your pressure
gauge, but you didn't do many details, and I
learn more by just looking at the way things
are constructed. That was not a real life installation,
but it was a very nice collection of parts to
    allow visualization of the concept.
    Best to most everybody.

My pressure pump is good but stops the water returns to the well and the pump starts working again, and I don't know what parts needs to be changed.

Sounds like your check valve is not working, u can leave it where it is and install a new one between pressure switch and pressure tank

Thanks for the information. Needless to put your finger so close to the electrical contacts. Yes, the electricity is supposed to be off. And we never make mistakes.
And it was supposed to be off today when I was shocked.
And many times we're standing on a wet surface and the items around us are wet.
So now I'm keeping rubber gloves in the pit as a reminder to wear them.
So you needed me to tell you that?
