    We had a red 3.0 fwd fusion, it was a 2006. Heated leather front seats, it was a nice car! Sadly the frame was rotten so we replaced it with my now 07 Pontiac g6 which to be quite honest, i like it a bit more than the fusion. Both good cars though

    Have had this car for about 6 months- would like to know more about the parts that run the car & how it all works for when it needs fixes or if it ends up having issues. This is my first car, I’m 21 and would appreciate it greatly. Also if you want to listen to music buy a Bluetooth charger/plug in & you can listen to your music without being plugged into aux!

    • @DoubleClutchAutoReviews
      @DoubleClutchAutoReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Hannah. Congrats on getting your first car! It is the exact same model as this one, the SEL with the V6 automatic 6-speed and AWD? Or it is a different trim level? My best advice for maintenance is change your oil yourself if you already know how to, or have it changed religiously with high-quality oil and filter every 5,000 (or so) miles. Oil is the life blood of your engine, and keeping it clean and fresh will help your engine run the healthiest and the longest it can.
      Also, check your tires often (at least once a month) and add air when needed. I already have videos on how to check and fill your tires, along with how to do an oil change on my motorcycle, but not a car. If you would like, next time I change the oil on the Fusion, I would be more than happy to make a video on it. Let me know and I'll make it happen.
      Link to how to check your tires video:
      th-cam.com/video/SSYaZKeMDgo/w-d-xo.html
      Also, if something does break, especially mechanical components like ball joints, wheel bearings, tie rods, any engine components, etc., please don't push it off until later and ignore it. Have broken things fixed right away. A broken part can have a "snowball effect" leading to increasing wear and breakdown of other associated parts on your car if you let it go too far. This leads to even more repairs that you wouldn't have necessarily have had to do in the first place.
      In regard to the aux cable, yes I have thought about buying something like that. However, I am old-school and I don't mind a aux cord, so I just used it until I eventually gave the car back to Grandma. The aux cord worked for me, but I'm glad you found a method that works for you too.
      Thanks for commenting and checking out my video. Please subscribe too if you haven't already and if you would like! It really helps me out. Best of luck with it, and drive safe!

    • @DoubleClutchAutoReviews
      @DoubleClutchAutoReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      I could see that! In my humble opinion, the Fusion is probably a "superior version" of a Jaguar X-type purely due to the Fusion's reliability and that it held it's value significantly better than to the X-Type in my personal experience. 😎

    i know i’m years late haha… but great review! i have a 2009 se 2.3L model and i realized the model you have (V6 sel) is really similar to mine.
    the power delivery the fusions have is very underrated and just by looking at the car you would not expect it to handle and deliver the quick speed and smooth gears it has to offer. even the 4cyl (2.3L) base engine has incredible quick take off’s and i’ve fallen in the love with the sound of the engine too. it’s really smooth.
    Awesome review btw👍🏽. Loved the ending when you finally opened that bad boy up😂. cant resist testing out the power and handling

      Not a problem! Thank you so much for your feedback. This Fusion has been one of the best cars my family has ever purchased. It really does deliver on the performance aspect more than your would expect. That's not only considering the power, but also the handling! I feel like this car grips the road VERY well for what you would expect out of a Fusion.
      The white metallic pearl paint to this day still gets me to stop and look at it when it's cleaned up and out in the sun. This car has also been very reliable for us so far as well. It's truly just a great car for what it is! Overall, this is a fantastic "bang for your buck" used car option as a daily driver/family vehicle.
      I am very happy to hear that you really like your Fusion also! It's a good car, and I hope it serves you well for many years. I'm also very glad you enjoyed the review! Thank you very much for checking out my channel, and considering subscribing! Take care, and have a great day! -Mark

    Is it a good idea to pay un g
    Ford fussion 2009 that has been parking the last 3 years ?

    • @DoubleClutchAutoReviews
      @DoubleClutchAutoReviews  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey there! I would say that it all depends… Was it sitting for 3 years outside, or in a garage? Was it well taken care of and maintained before it was parked, or was it just forgotten about? How many miles are on it? Does it start, and run well? Does it have any rust? How are the tires? You really want to make sure that they are not dry rotted, and they don’t have any flat spots from sitting. Please make sure to give it a good once over and check out EVERYTHING, especially the wear and tear items before you even make an offer or take it for a test drive.
      If it doesn’t start, I would negotiate the price first, then get it started and see if it runs well. It might just need a jumpstart or a battery. However, you don’t want the person thinking they have gem all of a sudden because you fired up their old rust bucket and all it needed was a battery.
      A good friend of mine once went to go look at an old C4 Corvette. It didn’t start, and the guy was asking a few thousand bucks for it. My buddy brought a battery, and got it fired up right away. All of a sudden the guy wanted double the price because he knew that it ran now. Yes, very very wrong and deceitful on that guy’s part. However, if you really like the car, and you want to get it for a good price, I would make sure to keep that in mind.
      Good luck, and feel free to keep me updated on how it goes! 😎🤙

      I loved the performance and bought a huge air filter for One, And a magnaflow muffler system for the other Lol.
      But when I put the performance air filter on the one with the muffler, it was pretty impressive how a 3.0 could have that much power.
      But I'm not sure which road and track issue it was showing Ford testing the 3.0 running it on hydrogen and it reached a top speed of 206 mph !
      But you would have to do some modifications first of course Lol.

Condition of the body and interior (cleanliness, dents/scratches)? 5. Does it need any work that you know of? 6. Same year as well? : Your answers will help me try to figure out if its a decent deal or not. Also, I would ALWAYS recommend bringing the car to YOUR mechanic (not theirs) to do a thorough pre-purchase inspection. The thing is I don't know a mechanic (I don't even know where to find one) to bring with me. When I test drive the engine starts and drive well no noises, no shaking. My only concern is when I shift between the gears it feels a bit tough...like the physical transition of me shifting it is not as smooth. I put in the info on Carvana and they offer $3,350 for it (if it was mine and I was to sell it). So now I'm thinking 4.7K is a bit much. Thank you for your time ❤️

    • @DoubleClutchAutoReviews
      @DoubleClutchAutoReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@nguoiyeugio4786 Do you mean Cali, like San Fran? Either way you are in the US correct? Lol just making sure!
      Okay, so overall that's great as far as the condition goes. Seems like it was well taken care of, and the regular maintenance was done. A good tip to start is to do a fair amount of research yourself about this specific car. This includes recalls and other common problems with this year Fusion. I know that this car had the notorious Takata airbag recall. I also know there was a brake issue that we had to deal with recently too. Have both of those been done/fixed yet on this car? Ask them that, and make them prove it with paperwork. This will show them that you are serious, and you are not going to be easily ripped off.
      As far as the mechanic inspection is concerned, do you have any friends, family or co-workers that might be able to point you to a trustworthy mechanic? If not, worst case scenario is google a shop near you (or near the dealer, but DEFINITELY not partnered with the dealer) with a 4+ star rating on google and just walk in and ask them if they can check out the car for you. They may charge you $50, but sometimes they might even do it for free. Either way, 100% worth every penny. This can save you from buying a lemon. I would highly, highly recommend having a professional mechanic look at it, because transmission work can be very expensive, costing between $1000-$3000 or even more at times to repair or replace if they are shot. You do not want to put that kind of money into an older car that you just bought.
      Another thing is that unfortunately, the used car market, as well as housing, and everything else it seems like, has gone sky-high with prices. This has driven up the prices of all used cars lately, which obviously isn't working in your favor as a buyer. On the other hand, the good thing about the car you are looking at is that it is not a "super-duper fancy cool car" like a special sports car for example that people are dying to get their hands on, making them even more valuable purely from the demand of the market. You can use this to your advantage. From what you are telling me, as long as the mechanic thinks the transmission is not going to give you problems, I would say $3,500 to $4,000 should be your price goal. Start low with the negotiation, and then work your way up. If it gets to it, say your top dollar is $4K, no more. If they won't budge, walk away. The most important thing is about car buying is that YOU MUST be willing to walk away. If you show them that you are emotional and really in love with the car, they will take advantage of that and not come down on the price because they know you want it. Buy with your head, not your heart. I've made that mistake before and paid for it (literally)...
      Anyway, didn't mean to get so philosophical on you, but I hope this helps! Go in there confident, prepared, and armed with knowledge, and you will get the deal you want. Best of luck, and let me know how it goes! Feel free to drop a comment/question or reach out at any time. Take care.

    For a 5 year period I had 2 of the 08 front wheel drive models. Bought a huge air filter for one, and a MagnaFlow exhaust system for the other.
    The performance was excellent in either one, But when I put The air filter on the one with the exhaust system it performed like a V8.
    And a strong one at that !
    But I believe it was a 2010 addition of Road and Track magazine showing when Ford used hydrating to power the 3.0 Fusion it reached a top speed of more than 206 miles an hour !
    So a front wheel drive with the upgraded air filter and muffler system, then a tune and get rid of the governor you should reach at least 160 miles an hour.

    Is it automatic? What does double clutch mean ?

    • @DoubleClutchAutoReviews
      @DoubleClutchAutoReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes this specific car is an automatic. And double clutching is a technique used when driving a manual transmission. You hit the clutch twice, once when coming out of a gear into neutral, and once again going back into gear. Some older vehicles without synchronizers in the transmission require you to do that, but most newer MT vehicles don't. In that case, it just makes the transition through gears smoother and more controllable. I decided to name my channel after the technique.

      Still running like a top! This Fusion really has been one of the best cars that my family has owned. That goes for function, usability, and reliability. 150k is a lot in general, but it really isn’t for a clean, well-maintained car. I am hoping that it will still have several more years of life left in it if you take great care of it. I have a 2008 Honda Accord V6 6-speed manual that’s just about to crest 150k and it’s still going plenty strong. As far as I’m concerned, the high mileage just allows you to get a better price for it! Make sure you test drive it really well though. Take it around town, over bumps, and on the highway. Give it a good solid ride to make sure that nothing seems off, and you enjoy driving it to make sure it’s the right car for you. Good luck! My grandmother essentially let me borrow it at the beginning of 2019 until I bought myself another car. She still has it in the garage! It’s funny you mention this right now, because she’s actually considering selling it…
      I don’t really want her to, because I feel that this is probably the best car that my family has ever owned. All-around, it’s been exceptionally reliable, it still looks good, has decent power, handles well for what it is, and still rides quite nicely! Overall, we are very impressed with this car. I don’t think she’s going to ask enough money for the car in my eyes. However, even though the car market is still really hot, there’s not an insane amount of desire for 2009 Fusions, no matter how clean they are, or how good of a car they are.

      Yes, they are! My grandparents had fantastic luck with this car. It's probably the best modern car that they've owned (at least that I'm aware of) It starts every time, and has given them minimal, if any issues (knock on wood, right? lol) The paint still looks amazing too! The V6 sounds good, and pulls hard for what it is. Overall, we have been very happy with this car, I recommend it.

    Here's an important thing to be aware of, with this model.
    I have the same car, SEL awd.
    DO NOT use the spare tire that comes with the car. It does not match the diameter of the tires on the car, and you'll destroy your car. It should be illegal, that they included it with the car. Luckily, i had a tire plug kit with me and was able to patch my tire, to get me home. As soon as i removed the pathetic spare, i could see it didn't match. But i could easily see an inexperienced person installing it, assuming it must be okay, as they supplied it from the factory.

      Jeez! Well, first off, I have to say I'm glad you made it home safe. That could've been VERY bad. secondly, that is very good to know. Thankfully, we haven't had to ever use the spare tire in this car. However, it needs to be immediately changed out either way. Thanks for sharing!

      @@Bolsam108 To be honest, I would say the good ol’ intake, cat back exhaust, and an ECU flash should do the trick for the V6 platform. That might get you an extra 15 to 30 hp. I would only recommend doing that though if you plan on keeping the car for a very long time. If you only plan on having that car for a year or 2, I would actually recommend saving up and then just buying a more powerful 4-door car in the future if you would like! That’s what I would do personally. For instance, if you would like a Taurus SHO, or even something like a Chevy SS, those cars have so much more power to begin with, and substantially more potential for mods in the aftermarket.

    Is it good to buy that car with120k mile?

    • @DoubleClutchAutoReviews
      @DoubleClutchAutoReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That all depends on the specific car, and how it was treated/maintained. I'd have to look at the exact car you're interested in myself to say whether it looks like it was well taken care of or not. Overall though I would say these Fusions are decent cars to buy at that point, especially with lower miles. This one has been VERY good to my family. However, we've also taken VERY good care of it, and it's spent most of the 13 years of its life parked in a garage.
      Other Fusions in my experience seem to be relatively reliable for the most part (as good, if not better than most other cars at 120k miles). You can get them for SUPER cheap at that point too. I would just make sure it's had it's routine maintenance done recently, and it looks like it was well taken care of overall. This maintenance includes brakes (pads and rotors at least) a coolant flush, oil change, new-ish tires, a timing belt at 100k and maybe even a water pump too. Make sure these things have been addressed/fixed or replaced before purchasing it. If not, of they don't have any proof that it was fixed/replaced, use that as a negotiation tactic to help knock down the price by a significant amount. Be very scrutinous with your assessment and negotiation of the vehicle, because any vehicle at that mileage will need work eventually. Good luck with it, and let me know how you make out! -Mark
