    New subscriber here. Great job setting up your irrigation system.
    You reminded me of when I first set up my system about 5 years ago. I bet that you will make modifications every year to improve your system.
    A good thing about drip is that it is not necessary to have the emitters right next to the plant. The water will migrate throughout the soil and plant roots, and in some cases the soil on top will be mostly dry.
    Good luck. Looking forward to your journey.

      Thank you!! I appreciate this feedback, because I have been wondering if the water is actually dispersing to the plant roots and you definitely assuaged my fears!! So incredibly helpful. Thank you for coming in to say hi and offer feedback. I’m excited to have you here on this journey with me! 😊

    Nicely done! This will be me in a few weeks once I retire and I can get some soil for my beds. I'm guessing I'll run into the same problem you had with the timer, filter, pressure regulator as the faucet I plan on using is low. At least it's close to the fence and I have a short section of hose I can use. You've already helped me out!
    One thing is the stakes you were using to hold down the drip tube are really for holding single emitter lines like you would use on the containers near your driveway. Just use garden staples for holding down the lines. The only reason I know this is I've been watching a lot of vids.

    Thanks for sharing, Maria. Drip irrigation is still on my "to do" list for this year. I have watched a few videos on how to do it and definitely watched yours to the end. This was really helpful, I hope to get my flower beds on drip irrigation and for raised garden beds for now I use soaker hoses. Im sure its a great accomplishment for you!!

      It was definitely some work 😂. And I’m very relieved to have it in! Soaker hoses are a great alternative though. I’m glad you found it helpful! Your comments make me 😁

    Excellent video. Thank you for sharing. We applaud you for attacking and completing this project. You obviously learned a great deal and will retain that knowledge forever. I am looking to do something similar, except i may customize where the water drips for specific plant locations. Nice job you did there. 😊

    How do you cut the grass without hitting the tubes? Other than that you did a nice job.

      Since it is such a small space, we are able to use our weed whacker- but very carefully! There are other areas where I may spot trim with some garden scissors. I have seen where people trench them under the grass, but I don’t have the time or energy for all that right now.

    So what I’m afraid of is leaving my black hose exposed to the sun because I’m afraid when I go to water my plants if the water is really hot, it would kill my plants. Have you experienced any problem with that?

    • @fromsoiltostove
      @fromsoiltostove  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m so glad you bring that up! I have had the same exact thoughts. So far though, no problems whatsoever. Everything is thriving. My thoughts are that since it is just a steady drip directly into the soil, that the plants themselves aren’t experiencing any of the initial heat.

      My hoses are partially exposed to the Texas sun constantly. Never had any problems. The soil will buffer the heat of the water.

    What state do you garden in? Thank you for the video; I’m hoping to add drip this summer.

      Hi! I garden in Ohio zone 6. I really liked the raised bed kit from Drip Depot- so highly recommend if you need something similar for your garden. After some research on the website, I was able to find the best kit option for me and honestly, it covered all my needs for this! I’m expanding the beds soon and will need to buy just a bit more product, but not too much!
