I usually let my hair air dry for a little then I either sit under my hooded dryer or I blow dry it . Wether I air dry or blow dry, I still use scrunchies to band it and retain my length.

@@sexyadounisha have you noticed growth after you take your hair down from protective styles? Is it breaking off when you take it down? Does your hair still feel moisturized after you take it down? Do you deep condition every time you wash it? For me, protective styles don't aid in my length retention. In the beginning I used to wear wigs but the whole braiding my hair down thing doesn't really work for me. I can't put too much tension on my hair, my hair can't handle it. It pulls my hair out, which is why I started wearing my hair out, whether that be wash n go's or twists etc. Maybe try giving your hair a break from "protective styles".

SunflowerGoddess I did get some flaking but it wasn’t too crazy
I used this combination and loved the results as well until the white balls appeared. They were pretty bad by the 3rd day.

Climate may affect your hair, but not enough to where you won't retain your length. What does your hair routine look like?
Xjanel Taylor wash and moisturizer when I feel like always in protective styles. Braid downs and wigs

Did you get stickiness? Because I have used some custards or jellies in my hair & after it dries, I get a sticky feel.
