I definitely get where you're coming from, but at the end of the day, I don't trust GM for reliability. I just bought a 2017 Ford Expedition limited EL for $30k with 91k miles. Love it, kids love it, it's just about perfect for our family.
Ford has less trunk space, but it has more leg room. We were looking for a big SUV and I wanted a GM vehicle. After doing research the Chevy had more issues in that particular generation. Especially transmission issues. Both the Yukon XL and Suburban look better, but the Expedition is a better value and more reliable. Got a 17 Expedition EL with just over 72,000 miles for $27,000.
The Ford looks way better on the outside, and I can tell you this from experience, the Expedition’s seats are night and day way more comfortable than the Chevy. Also, the 3.5 EcoBoost is going to run circles around that 5.3 and get further while doing it. The looks of the interior on the Chevy are definitely better, but that’s about all. My mother in law has a Tahoe and the seats feel cheap and plasticky. Also, I feel the expedition has more interior space than the Tahoe. Whenever I drive my mother in law’s, I feel cramped, as opposed to my expedition. I’d take the Ford
If you want the same vehicle as the Expedition, but with the extra chrome and trim features, you need to upgrade to the Lincoln Navigator L, that even has a few more goodies than the suburban. If your entertaining the purchase of a used vehicle, you should be able to get a used Navigator for the same price as the Expedition.
I own a Transportation company in SE Florida, more specifically Limo / Black Car Service. All we use are Fords and Lincolns, the Expedition Maxs is Fantastic, for many many reasons. Ford/Lincoln products cars are easy to work on, parts are readily available, Labor costs are not crazy and if you change the oil regularly.... they'll last forever, We've had dozens of them in all kinds of configurations for the last 10 years. Just sold a 2017 Expedition limited EL was close to 300,000 miles on it original motor replace the transmission at 275,000.
The ford is best in class towing over 9000lbs ,eco boost roughly 382 hp 400 ft lb torque 18-20mpg solid. The cjevy is prettier inside but not near as durable.fake wood in chevy peeling and fading. Plus sync is great for getting all the apps on your phone usable and driver friendly. So far the ecoboost 3.5 has a perfect dependability rating. I like the more truck looking style of the Ford reminds me of bronco the newer expedition looks like a giant station wagon. Chevy in 2008 got bailed out by our tax $ dollars. They never paid it back and even got caught fibbing about it.
*Ford pinto(1978) Remember that incident? *Chevy suburban is the longest historical nameplate in the history of automobiles and in film/music industry(Escalade) *GM SUVs outsell all full-size SUVs (Expedition, Navigator, QX80, Armada, Sequoia) *Ford Interior quality from the mid 2000s was garbage like every brand from the US. Take a look at SUV interiors from 2021s and up, ford/Lincoln is behind bud
Ford never brings that up about not wasting our tax dollars asking for bailout money, but they should when they're being sued over higher than expected gas mileage!
@PimpKilla789 you can possibly but how is ford rated 4 years in a row best tow rating and chevy doesn't get 10k towing in any of there trucks in the last 5 years+ no suv has over 10k towing these days except back in the day when excursions were a thing and chevy used the big v8 they had was just like ford's v10
I have had both. They are both great trucks. The Expedition gets way better MPG, however, the 5.3 is much easier and cheaper to work on. I think a better compression would be the Platinum Edition Expedition.
At the end of the day the ford EB is much stronger then the 5.3 vortec and year after year now Fords Ecoboost is proving to be extremely reliable and stout. That Expedition will likely still be pulling hard when the chev is in need of a basic rebuild. Just my 2 pennies of course but ill trade a couple strips of chrome for a stronger truck every day of the week.
The 6l80 transmission is crap and the 5.3 will die because of the cylinder deactivation. The power train in the expedition is superior however the looks and feel are not. That cylinder deactivation was one of the worst things gm has ever done in my opinion just look it up.
I just bought that exact same white Ford lol, and ford has always had lackluster materials and that's just how it is, but when my 4 kids get in it and soil it, I'm not gona cry too hard. Overall, I think the Ford has the best ride on the road, hands down. Not even a lexus feels that comfortable, and I drove the LX 570 many times...
Well even though suburban has more cargo room. You can't fit 6ft adults in the third row. All generations of expeditions fit comfortably tall adults and in the third row and I'm talking 6ft and up. None of the suburban generations fit adults in the third row comfortably. Not even in the second row
Ford is better with the 5.4 than Chevy only because of cylinder deactivation. Wipes out the cams. I didn’t realize the Ford had a V6 Ecoboost. The Chevy is favorite but you have to turn of Cylinder deactivation .
Hello all , new to the Ford community bought myself a Ford expedition 2016 V6 Ecoboost limited it has stickers on the rear phone the tires both side says TREMOR what special does it has ??
I've at the V6TT and the 5.3NA and I would choose the V6TT all day..... unless.... I was building a racecar. The variable displacement is junk in the 5.3 and the lifters are weak.
I’ve owned ford and Chevy vehicles. Both are great. I think Chevy engines are simpler. All my fords had modular engines. Crown Victoria P71 that i still own and 3 f150s from 2 VALVE 4.6L to 3 valve 5.4L. I have an OBS carbed 350 96 Silverado. 05 Suburban Z71 360K miles and 07 Yukon with 230K miles. These trucks can easily be turned into Jeep Track hawk fighters for far less money. I only paid $2,300 for my suburban, $2,500 for Yukon. Both running and driving. I paid $2,000 over 10 years ago just for the OBS body that needed everything, i found out later. I should have bought the OBS dually crew cab truck that was there. Young and dumb. I could have swapped a 6.6L Duramax in that OBS dually truck by now. Smdh
Ok i own the ford but that chevy / gmc / caddy is much better because it was a newer setup intil next generation popped out in 2018 when then next generation of ford / Lincoln came out but im still driving my old ford / Lincoln but if not 2018 up Lincoln but the 17+ was great in Lincoln's as well
Chevrolet more classy FORD is more sporty my opinion I'm a go with FORD 😆 another thing I like is the square look on the Ford I must keep it truthful I wish FORD had the screen that Chevrolet has 😆 with that hide spot over all I pick FORD
THIS GUY IS SOOOOOOOOOOO BIASED... I WOULDN'T BUY FROM THIS DEALER... 1ST MAKE SURE BOTH CARS HAVE THE SAME OPTIONS AND MILAGE ON THEM... AND IF HE DID HIS HOMEWORK THE FORD'S ECOBOOST HAS A BETTER MILEAGE, DISTANCE, AND POWER THAN THE CHEVY... I OWNED 2017 SUBURBAN FOR 3 YEARS AND TEST-DROVED MY SON'S 2018 EXPEDITION... I'M SORRY TO SAY CHEVY NEEDS TO GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD AND RE-DESIGN A V6 TO COMPETE WITH FORD... I'VE BEEN A GMC MAN FOR YEARS BUT GUESS WHAT MY NEW TRUCK WILL BE?
I definitely get where you're coming from, but at the end of the day, I don't trust GM for reliability. I just bought a 2017 Ford Expedition limited EL for $30k with 91k miles. Love it, kids love it, it's just about perfect for our family.
i use to be a gm guy still have my 06 esv but i’m looking at the el expiditions probely with the 5.4 2012-2014
Ford expedition hands down.
I like how he said the Expedition didn't have heated seats in the back, while the camera was pointed at the controls for the heated back seats.

The Ford Ecoboost is trash and also my Chevy suburban can tow 10000 pounds without having to worry about blowing a turbo

Agree. Ford has a better reputation and reliability.
The 6l80 transmission is crap and the 5.3 will die because of the cylinder deactivation.
The power train in the expedition is superior however the looks and feel are not. That cylinder deactivation was one of the worst things gm has ever done in my opinion just look it up.
The plug in module from Range Technologies Inc. disengages the cylinder deactivation mode, without issues for $200 bucks or less.
I just bought that exact same white Ford lol, and ford has always had lackluster materials and that's just how it is, but when my 4 kids get in it and soil it, I'm not gona cry too hard.

I'm bi.
I own a 2005 Yukon XL and a 2017 Expedition EL.

I have had both, and the Ford defiantly has more leg and head room.

Hello all , new to the Ford community bought myself a Ford expedition 2016 V6 Ecoboost limited it has stickers on the rear phone the tires both side says TREMOR what special does it has ??
Chevy all the way but bought an expedition cuz its cheaper
I've at the V6TT and the 5.3NA and I would choose the V6TT all day..... unless.... I was building a racecar. The variable displacement is junk in the 5.3 and the lifters are weak.
Both nice but i would go with the chevy on this one still love my ford lol lol

I'm a Honda man myself. I got a 2018 Honda Odyssey I bought new in May of 2018
Different segment. If anything the Pilot would be the one relatively closer to these.
Git outta here!!!!
Ford all day
Expedition looks so much nicer
Durango
I have the ford! Great truck
Chevy Tahoe/ Suberban,GMC Yukon Yukon XL neither have leg room in the 3rd row. Big deal breaker for me.
Ok i own the ford but that chevy / gmc / caddy is much better because it was a newer setup intil next generation popped out in 2018 when then next generation of ford / Lincoln came out but im still driving my old ford / Lincoln but if not 2018 up Lincoln but the 17+ was great in Lincoln's as well
Ford for sure
Chevrolet more classy FORD is more sporty my opinion I'm a go with FORD 😆 another thing I like is the square look on the Ford I must keep it truthful I wish FORD had the screen that Chevrolet has 😆 with that hide spot over all I pick FORD

This is a video about the cult not mechanics

Too many miles on the Ford. Good price though.
