Your example addendum made me teary eyed. I’ve never felt so understood, or even OK to have had undiagnosed ADHD. My undergrad was 20 years ago, and it was pretty unheard of then, and not supported or accommodated. That, combined with a few other tricky pieces to my application, makes me REALLY want your help. I looked on your website briefly but wasn’t sure where to find your admissions consulting services. Can you please let me know how to reach you? (I also joined the Fb group under my legal name, if that helps for connecting). Thank you sooooo much. I cannot even fully explain the gift you’ve just given me.

Definitely explain that situation with the work commitment. I'm not where you're asking you should include the term GPA but I do say that in addenda it is important to be specific but also brief (this is not an essay, you just want a couple of sentences). They will see and evaluate your entire transcript, and they will see all of your semesters and the dip, so your addendum should just fill in the questions raised by that dip.
I feel like, I finally found out what I want and my grades will not allow me to achieve it :( What would you consider to be a lower GPA for law? I feel so saddened…
The application process isn’t based solely on grades or a test score. The decision is based on a holistic review of all the components of the application. However, if you are concerned about your GPA, adding work experience or other things to bolster the rest of your application is always a good strategy!
not to be a debbie downer, but.... How you do package homelessness, poverty, mental health (undiagnoise bpd)and sexual assault in a short and sweet addendum about why your jumped schools and was incredibly inconsistent until your 30s?
Sorry that you had to endure such excruciating and challenging circumstances. When writing an addendum, keep in mind that your main goal is to provide context to the admissions committee as to the circumstances that affected your academic journey while, at the same time, displaying important characteristics such as resilience. You want the admissions committee to become aware of your challenges, but to also recognize your potential as a future attorney. Note that your addendum should not read as a personal or diversity statement but as a dispassionate writing that provides the admissions committee with facts and information. So be direct and concise. Begin your addendum (one sentence should suffice) letting the reader know the reason why you are writing. Keep in mind that an addendum should be no more than 1/2 a page. Some law schools provide specific instructions as to length and format, so please read the application instructions carefully! Address your circumstances in an organized manner and include dates that align with changes found in your transcript or academic history. This can serve as a much-needed roadmap as the admissions committee navigates your admissions file. Writing an addendum requires a balancing act, be transparent and genuine, but maintain a neutral and professional voice. You want to fill in the gaps and anticipate any questions that an admissions officer may have while being direct and concise. It is also important to conclude an addendum with a hopeful tone. In other words, reassure the admissions committee that you are ready and very much looking forward to law school. Lastly, be patient with yourself, writing a brief addendum requires many drafts and edits. - Cynthia

@Oswald Mosley Let’s hope you’re not attending law school with the ignorance you displayed! As if everyone’s undergrads year went perfect!! Did you even listen to the content of the video regarding reason to why someone could have a low GPA during undergrad?
This is really encouraging and I feel so reassuring with your kind supportive expose

Should you include term gpa? I had work conflicts that one semester dragged my gpa very low and I picked it up but not enough to make a big jump

Nobody should be going to law school with a low GPA.
