As devastating as it was to learn of this mans habitual sin, I was hoping that you would, as my pastors address your Mission community. These conversations are important because we as followers of Christ, follow Yeshua- not man. I can empathize with those who have been impacted in their faith in a positive way by his preaching, may feel .... extremely let down and perhaps this experience would have them believe that The Christian body is full of hypocrisy. Even though this is a horrific event for those hurt by this man who he was in close proximity to and Christians all over the world, I have seen such passion as a result for the real Christ followers to prove the importance of really walking as as a child of the Most High; being accountable for sin, being obedient to His Will, walking in truth and integrity! I heard one of the most impactful sermons preached from one of my pastors who said from the pulpit last Sunday: “I’m not 100% guys, I’m at about 65%!” The sermon was all about the idea that maybe we shouldn’t trust our pastors, leaders, and people who are sheparding us. And man, the Holy Spirit moved through every word! I love how God is glorified in our moments of weakness and insecurity, especially if we are willing to answer the call, be obedient, whether we feel capable or not. For the folks who do listen to every conversation here, please keep it up. There may not be much traffic, but these talks really help me get to know my pastors and leaders hearts and moral values.
Suckers. You are not dealing with the fact that sociopaths find a church and the faithful as the perfect prey for their desires. How to deal with a wolf in the fold? That is the question. They love it when believers like you pray for them and expect God to handle justice - that is what they count on. Lambs to the slaughter. Oh, make sure you pray for discernment - they love that. They will probably pray with you.
