I assume it's easier for the developers to rely on System Voice Recognition, but it's really a major obstacle for playing the game :( I'm an IT professional, tried to follow this tutorial and Voice Recognition is still not working in that game. Moreover, you fail to mention any of this Requirements on the Steam Store page. Setting System Languages to English (US) might already be a major hassle for non-native persons (because it affects a bunch of stuff, like default number and date formats...). And Cortana only works with a Microsoft Account, which again you fail to mention. You should really consider, to make the voice recognition in the game independant of System Components.
I was getting ready to purchase Tower! 3 plus a couple of airports and then I found out about Cortana. You say that it can be played with out Cortana but you haven't yet released a vido on how. From what I have seen in the comments I think a lot of people have this question that needs to be answered
Finally have it working. When switching from "English (United Kingdom)" to "English (United States)" only the ""Language pack" component got installed automatically but not the "Speech" component. After adding the latter manually things started working...

The last few steps I tired did get me past the error message I was getting in game but it still does not work. 1) Checked Language version. Was set to English but regional was not. Installed Regional US. 2) Uninstalled three versions of C++ Distributable and reloaded only the most recent. 3) Rebooted PC 4) Brought up Cortana and she recognized "Home" and "End" when I spoke it. 5) Brought up game with Cortana still up. 6) No Message this time but still no voice recognition. Up for any more suggestions.

But there are good helpful tutorials on TH-cam now. That will help you also. Also I bought a map , with plastic sheets (A4) . Got the manual on paper now. Couldn't do alot for the last 4 days. Had a vain surgery on my right leg 🦵.
When I give the command "airline ## runway ## via c9 " It shows up correctly on the command line for a split second then changes "via" to "at" and I wind up with "airline ## runway ## at c9 " Driving me frigging crazy. I get so frustrated I just exit the game
Yes, it is not needed, only the US language pack needs to be installed on your PC. We will update this tutorial video shortly and make it even better, explaining all the steps of setting up the voice recognition and getting started.

You're not the only one, so many people having issues and this guy is really hard to understand especially with the music :L
One of the reasons i do not buy this. Had the same issues with Tower Sim 1.
Cortana is no longer available in windows 11 what can we use?

It won't let me download the speech just says failed everytime.
