Vimioso - Portugal

There are indications of prehistoric settlements in the Atalaia and Pereiras hills, overlooking the village of Vimioso, and in several existing castres, both at the end of the village (Batoqueira, Terronha, ...) and several parishes in the county.
In the place of the Batoqueira, between Vimioso and Carção, there are pits that the population calls rooms and that would have been hiding place of Christians in the time of the fights with the Moors. It should be remembered that the popular tradition calls Moorish / Moorish all non-Christians, including Romans and previous peoples.
Vimioso is mentioned from the beginnings of Portuguese nationality. It will have arisen west of the present settlement (below the Village Fund), in a sufficiently humid place to produce the wicker that gave it the name vimioso place.
At that time, the Galician-Portuguese term of the lands west of the Maçãs River and the Asturian-Leon that originated the Mirandese language in the lands to the north and east of the river Angueira.
The landlord of Vimioso was given by the first Portuguese kings to the Antas family whose manor and stone of arms can be observed in front of the present Mother Church.

Meu avô nasceu em Vimioso, ele falava os nomes de cada região, mas hoje ele acabou falecendo hoje por causa da Covid. Agora irei levar isso como recordação dele.

Achei este vídeo de alguém mostrando todos os lugares onde estive em Portugal, reconheci até as igrejas, e o Pelourinho, atrás dele está uma casa que é o centro cultural onde fiz a Ceia de Pessach em 2002. Trouxe-me muitas boas recordações. Meu parabéns pelo vídeo.

Perto de Vimioso existe uma aldeia chamada Mora. Deve ter somente uns 50 moradores. Muito linda, com casas de pedras, um riacho perto. Se puder filmar na região ficaríamos muito gratos. Abraços Douglas. Ps Minha sogra nasceu em Mora e hoje evidente no Brasil

Normalmente são chamadas de «fontes de mergulho» por reterem águas de uma nascente (mina) e, a colheita ser feita mergulhando o recipiente.
