Treated myself to a leg day on xmas morning, 430am before the kids woke up to open their presents. Proud of the mindset i've developed. Gym in the garage, haven't skipped a session in well over a year.
Brother. You are getting into the serious shredded state. Love it man. Merry Liftmas to you my Mentor. Keep pounding the macro stuff into my skull. I got to lock in on that factor bro. It's time to flip that macro switch and make that commitment. LETS GO!!!!
Merry Liftmas Sam! Today would’ve been my rest day in my routine anyways, but unfortunately the gyms around me are closed tomorrow too. Guess l’ll count it as a deload lol
First movement is different than a lat prayer [typically straightish arm lots of stretch]. Yours is like a high row which is excellent as well. Not arguing at all with the intensity, quality, or efficacy of your workouts . Huge fan. Enjoying your progress. A lat prayer is a great warm up movement or finisher.

Someone made a video titled fall of sam sulek… NEVER. Ive heard of you and seen some videos but now i started actually watching. Ill make watching you a routine while omw to the gym
Sam how do you decide how hard to push yourself during cardio? Do you set a calorie goal and try to hit it? Do you set a heart rate goal? Do you just set a time goal and then pedal as hard as you feel like?
just got for a set amount of time and depending on the type of cardio you want to be able to do it for a good amount of time without getting out of breath so dont use to much resistance, speed or incline
I was planning to lift on Christmas day but got the flu. I was actually excited to go to the gym on Christmas day. Luckily we have Sam, our anchor, our strength, our way.
Merry liftmas, just done my workout today, almost hitting my 3rd year of bodybuilding, crazy progress almost at my peak natty, im considering hopping on soon.
Something to consider on a non handle - cable pull down exercise is using the Versa Grip. I wrap the leather areojnf the cable just above the ball and carabiner and it helps axial fatigue alot for this and rear delts where I don't use a handle due to too much length w/ handle.
Loyal subscribers: I need advice. I just sprained my ankle this AM. I can still walk on it but I’m limping pretty bad from the pain. My questions to you all are: 1. How long do you think before I can squat again? 2. Can I do leg press sooner? (Is leg press less stress on ankle vs. smith machine squats?) 3. I will still be doing ham curls, leg extensions, RDLs, and (maybe) Nordic curls on my leg day tomorrow. Is there any other exercises I can do for quads that won’t involve much pressure on my ankle? Thanks in advance, my fellow gym rats. Sincerely, Newly-injured lifter
If you don't want a bike in your living room, what about something like a Waterrower A1 that can be stood up where it takes up basically no room and looks like a piece of furniture, and rowing is my go to cardio because it doesn't take long to burn a bunch of calories because you use your whole body. Even an air rower like a Concept 2 doesn't take up much space (but your neighbors will hate you unless they are deaf)
I really needed this motivation today. Thank you Sam. Havent been to the gym for a week because of a tennis elbow, but i can still work out the rest of my body.
Thankfully, both of my gyms have key fobs. Everyone is closed on Christmas, so the gym is the best place to be to stay mentally healthy. The staff was actually at one of my gyms on Christmas.
Thank you for all your video’s Sam! I’ve gone through a rough breakup and it’s hard to distract my mind from dwelling on it. Your uplifting and fun dialogue about a thing I love is a great distraction. Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
10:50 have you tried the extra long d handles for your pullovers? You can use both hands and extend well passed yourself without it stopping at your chest
Hey Sam, I have a question: I’m relatively new to the gym and started out pretty skinny. I’ve gained weight, going from 77kg to 85kg during my bulking phase over the past 3 months. Now I’m unsure whether I should start cutting or if it makes more sense to continue bulking until next winter - basically a year-long bulk. What do you think?
probably keep bulking unless you gained to much fat then you could do a mini cut where you do a faster cut for a few weeks to a month then go back to bulking
Most people that do cardio don't like exercise bike because of the boredom, Admittedly, I am near immune to such things and I'd say exercise bike is surprisingly boring. But indoor recumbent exercise bike is the most controllable least dangerous cardio you can do. It can hit the quads different. But you know your water is there you can drink regularly as you sweat to not dehydrate at least, plus a/c so you don't get too hot, that is, you can train harder. But biking outside is fun whereas exercise bike indoors isn't. Same with running/walking on a treadmill. I've only swum in pools, so probably same true there too. Locomoting with purpose in the natural environment is more stimulating and relaxing but dangerous.
My gym is a Major Lutie SML07, freestanding punching bag, and 45lbs barbell in my basement. It aint much but I still got a damn fine leg day in today. Finally got back up to 3 plates on deadlifts after my injury a year ago (idk what the injury was I just felt a pop in my right calf whilst squatting and it was real tender/sore for like 2 months so I've been nursing it and working back up to my maxes again)
I think a one week diet break helps me to stay focused especially if your doing a recomp. I’m not trying to be a professional lifter just look good in the summer.
This is way way smaller than last year. I skip through a lot of these videos anymore, did he come off gear or something? He is losing mass day by day. Just took a screenshot of most muscular from a year ago, where he's showing off his rear delt which is pretty much gone 90% from what it used to be. Clearly he had bad backne from the juice back then but he was much bigger. I figured he would retain most of that even if he came off
Having a planned rest day for today. It's also the last day of a planned maintenance month. Back into the cut tomorrow. Will be down to my goal weight of 180 by the end of March. That will be the end of my 4 year 200 pound weight loss journey.
Man my progress has been plagued over the years by serious injury after serious injury. They way I was after my 1st and 2nd injuries were terrible because I accepted my limitations and just went off. My last one last year was much better because I stayed focused and worked around the injury to keep things going. Now I've been battling a stupid flu thats been kicking my ass with 105⁰ fevers that have finally broken after a few days and I am dying to get back in the gym. Going to have a Christmas lift myself.
Sam, I'm not going to lie, I'm taking the whole week off and getting drunk. Gotta take an end of the year break. Hitting it hard and getting back into the swing of things on Monday though!
27:35 I don’t recommend the under desk pedals, they’re really annoying they move around sometimes and whatnot! And Ive noticed that you don’t really do your work and pedal, it’s either one or the other and usually just ends up being an annoying cardio session with subpar equipment.
