As a fellow nursery 'person' it's only when you discuss Felco that we part ways. I am personally a Corona man.
Outside of that, your sage advice and your genuine nature won me over from video #1.
Keep up the good work and good luck with your impending arrival.

I just placed an order with greater confidence because of your explanation. I have small hands with painful nodules that the doc treats and I massage, stretch and wear gloves and dip in hot wax baths at home just to keep the muscles long and working well. No surgery for this inherited condition. I nearly jumped into my computer to grab that articulating pruner but bought a pair instead. Grabbed a pair of the long nosed snips for flowers, some spray lubricant, a holster holder and was thrilled to see replacement parts are available as are sharpeners, etc. Best of all, THANK YOU FOR THE DISCOUNT CODE! You saved me more than $20! So glad I made a "Thanks" donation to you earlier today!

I wish they had a way to carry the tool without having to wear pants with belt loops. Not all of use wear those pants in the garden. Happy Birthday to me! I just ordered the F13!!!!!

This is SO helpful. I am new to gardening and in the past two weeks I have spent $50-$60 for two pairs of non-felco pruners. One broke on the second use, and the other is so dull that it bends things instead of cutting them. I should’ve just invested in the felcos from the beginning and it actually would’ve saved me money. Placing my order for the F6 now. Thanks Laura!

  • @alantrott6581

We were living in Germany and I went to a garden center and there was what had to be Felcos under a different brand and they were a fraction of the cost. US always pays more. Also, the public works personnel in our town would use electric pruners from a battery in a back pack. This made sense because they do a lot of pollarding of small trees. I would also suggest that at some point in your life that right after Thanksgiving you should go to Germany and experience the Christmas markets. Vienna is great also. If it wasn't for Covid we would probably be there now visiting.

I use them too for lighter garden jobs like herbs and roses, etc. I've never thrown them or my 2's away either because I can always find that red handle in a pile !! Now I have my eye on the C& H !! I would love to have the loppers too! You just can't beat the strength and sharpness of these tools. Thank you Laura for introducing them to me years ago! I'm always thankful to have them ❤ 🌹 🌿

I absolutely love mine too! Flowers, herbs and harvesting veggies too! It's surprising how much they are able to tackle for such a light tool. On that note, I attached a thin wrist leash to mine, very handy. I often drop them just to swing on my wrist when I need both hands for something, and then they just swing back in my hand when I need them to cut. The bonus of them being super lightweight.

I have several different Felcos and the is most comfortable in my hand that is about 6 1/4" from the tip of my middle finger down. I just ordered the a pair of 14's to use as snips as a result of this video. THANK YOU!

Hi Laura 🙂.. re: the model 4 ch ..just wondering how you found the grip and handling of the model 4 type layout compared to the very similar model 2 ( handles are a different grip shape ) .. I have a few Felco’s now 🙄😁.. including the 100 ch , and 2 and 8 .. and quite liking the 5 👍.. but do fancy a 4 ( liking its basic look 🤔) .. I hold my 2’s ( and most of all my previous makes ) same as you , probably similiar sized hand , and seems agile and precision that way 🙂👍..
so looking at the 4 or 4 ch , wasn’t sure if the manageable large hands 2 is actually easier or less so ( with medium hands ) 🤷‍♂️ with the handle grip style of the 2 ( 100ch ) or the 4 ( 4ch ) or really no difference in the opening span of the blades when held loosely but comfortably ready for action ? ..
I get quite a bit extra on my 2’s compared to my 8’s .. but the 8 is good for some things over the 2 and vice versa 👍..
but thinking of a 11 for that reason 😁..
I recommend the 5 though , it is large .. but a fun go to , for less finesse stuff .. lovely spring on it too 👍🙂👍..
thank you Laura .. hope to hear soon , of you’re thoughts on the model 4 ch and it’s look alike the 2 ( apart from its wider , less wide etc ? ) handle shape ..
    thank you 👍🙂🇬🇧🤝🇺🇸🙂👍

    Morning Laura,
    So informative, thank you!
I’ve put it on my Christmas wish list for F2. I have small hands, now I’ll have to go back and change the style and size.
I also had to chuckle when you mentioned F-16, it’s also a fighter jet name. When our three sons were younger we’d take them to Whidbey Island Navel Base to view the Air Shows. We live 45 minutes from that Navy Base. Anyhow, when we got a Beagle pup, we were all thinking of a name, our youngest exclaimed, “I know, F18” ( Hornet Jet). Well, we finally named the pup, “Prowler” Northrop Grumman EA-6B Prowler. It’s now a retired aircraft. I couldn’t image us calling our Pup from the back porch “Come here F-18!” ☺️
Have a great rest of your day! 💜

I absolutely love my Felcos and I could'nt imagine gardening whitout them! I have a Felco 6 and a Felco 12 and I've used them daily fore 20 years. They really are the best! I also use the leather holster to carry them around and it's very comfortable to always have them around. Sometimes, when I'm not gardening and need to clip something, I find my self grasping for them on my right hip, even if they are not there. It must look quite hilarious, but it is a kind of side effect one will have to take after getting used to being well equipped.
I do love your work Laura and Aaron - do take your time to rest and enjoy life, so that you will keep filming for many years to come! (Sorry if my english is poor - I'm from Sweden and english is not my native language.)

Great info Laura!-- I bought a pair of Felco 2's a couple of years ago. I'm getting used to them, but I probably should have gotten a smaller size. And a note for everyone to be VERY careful! Felco Pruners have an extremely sharp blade!!!

I read this before I ordered Felco’s. You r soooo right! Extremely sharp as I found out the hard way while rushing thru a trimming. OUCH! Going thru a lot of band aids. (still love them tho🙄)

Mothers Day 2019 my husband bought Felco 2s for me...and I love them! Will know how to clean and sharpen them this winter, thanks to your other Felcos video. The products you use are wonderful, & we appreciate your honesty. Now have a kangaroo pop-up bag and a Gorilla Cart. Our son-in-law is becoming quite a gardener, so this Christmas he'll receive a pair of Felcos & a pop-up kangaroo bag too. Happy another gardener in the family! (Mom & Grandmother were as well).
Nana in '40's & '60s trialed plants & seeds in Maine and wrote for gardening magazines. She had the most beautiful way of describing flowers. We are blessed to have some of their plants in our garden.
Thank you Laura and Aaron for sharing your enthusiasm and knowledge! 💗

Hey Laura, I have the Felco 2’s after watching your videos for years and my family knows they are mom’s special pruners! However I feel I’d like to add to my tool collection. A video of you using the different pruners and how and what they could cut would be helpful. Even sitting in the sunroom and cutting twigs, branches, stems would be awesome. I have no regrets purchasing them!

the cut and hold pruners are a great idea! i always hate clean up once i have worked on my roses but having these would make my job so easy.

When I was rehabilitating from shoulder surgery I wanted to keep gardening. I was advised that anvil pruners would be less strain, so that’s what I used until I could go back to my old number 2’s.😊

I would recommend the Felco 100s for cutting roses because they hold the stem so I can avoid reaching in and getting a handful of thorns. Amazing.

This was super helpful, Laura! It’s amazing that you took all of the information and helped us make sense of it! I wonder if they discontinued the 4C&H (cut and hold rose pruners)!

I have the Felco 2 and 310. I love them both but the 310 is super handy for deadheading and floral arranging. I like the pointed tip versus the curved head of the #2. So much easier to direct for deadheading for sure. Another thought is people should be aware that there are knockoffs out the so beware. I think I watched a video on TH-cam on things to watch out for to make sure the are official.

felco.com has a Canadian site/tab but if you're anywhere in the GTA you can also get them from Sheridan Nurseries (and likely from a number of the other bigger nurseries too). I picked up a pair of F5 from Sheridan in November ... I tried the F2 and although it was OK (hardly any notable difference) the F5 somehow felt better in my hand. They're on the pricier side at Sheridan but it was on sale plus I got an extra 10% off so worked out well for me ... bottom line check prices all round! Right now www.felco.com/ca_en is showing the F5 @ $42.21. I'd love to get the F13, F100, F310 ... and also a 😻(Russell) (LOL).
      Hanukkah Sameach/Chag Sameach ... Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays

Super helpful! Thank you so much! I really wanted new pruners but all the numbers on Felcos had me confused. Now I know I’m leaning towards F6 and F15. I also might throw in the F4 C&H since roses are a prick. 😁

Laura, you should try using a holster for your Felcos. Talk about becoming part of your body!!! My holster is always hooked on my jeans every day and I dont loose my pruners! I've even wore it to town....accidentally! Lol!!!

Thank you for the info. I received a pair of Felco 2's for a gift this year. I asked for them based on watching what you do on your channel. My hand is also small and maybe a smaller one would be good for me. However, I love these pruners. Ive had many different cheaper brands over the years and I feel I finally got the pair to last me for many years to come.

Going to buy felco's and wanted to know which size you use. Searched felco's on yt and this came up! 1 minute in I have my answer! Thank you so much. Raccoons are making me hesitant about growing veggies this year. Last year was so bad. They would fight by my bedroom window over my squash!😭

I ordered a pair from Amazon but when I got them they were for large hands. 🤪I had to send them back. I have small hands and arthritis so now I am looking at a smaller size but there are so many different ones I was confused which ones I should order. Thank you for this video for explaining all the differences. Now Hopefully I can get some that work for me.
