  • MISS GEICO disappointed, VICTORY Team Dubai edged out the Aussies team 222 OFFSHORE in a tight contest to win the offshore race of the most powerful SUPERBOATS in the world in 'Class ONE' (formerly 'Class UNLIMITED') at the 2019 National Championship in Fort Myers Beach, FL.
The race in Class One ran 12 laps. The VICTORY Team fielded two 41-foot catamarans powered by Mercury Racing 1100 Comp engines, and they vied for top honors with the Australian team 222 OFFSHORE. Salem Al Adidi and Eisa Al Ali piloted the team’s primary boat VICTORY 3 to win the 2019 National Championship.
Running its own 41-foot Victory-built cat with 1,100-hp Mercury Racing engines, the 222 OFFSHORE team of driver Darren Nicholson and throttleman Giovanni Carpitella managed to get ahead of VICTORY 33 and chased VICTORY 3, where it made up ground on the outer section of the course but kept losing what it gained when it tackled the nearshore straightway. Despite several hard charges by 222 OFFSHORE that left it less than a boat length behind, VICTORY 3 team never gave up the lead and took the checkered flag just a few seconds ahead of the Aussies.
MISS GEICO raced for the first time after the crash in Sarasota in July but was clearly not ready to compete and trailed almost a full lap.

that and the Seatek V12 Diesel's. slow at the start but roared when it got warm, problem was though that it roared maybe a bit to much and loved to snap the driveshafts clean off.
but that was back when if the boat design was by "Fabio Buzzi" you know it was going to end up high and the track at the Norwegian GP was all around the island and not some short silly track.

Under the new rules, all Class One catamarans run Mercury Racing’s new 1100 Competition engine, which is a 9-liter V-8 engine with aluminum four-valve cylinder heads and dual overhead camshaft valve train dubbed QC4v. The engine produces 1,100 horsepower at 6,500 rpm, and is mechanically sealed with a tamper-proof ECU to ensure a level playing field for racers.
