It's so interesting to hear that they struggled with that scene as actors and that they felt like they couldn't get it quite right because on film that scene absolutely broke my heart, that feeling of him being too many years too late and the feeling of loosing her and the possibility of never having a romantic relationship together. Then to see her come back and change her mind. It was one of my favourite scenes along with many others. It may of felt like it didn't work but on screen it magically did.
Absolutely! This scene was incredibly moving and had me in tears. My favourite scene of the whole series. So powerful. What unbelievable acting by Leo in particular! The deep hurt was palpable. Absolutely heartbreaking.
Exactly 💯 - two weeks later, I am still crying and obsessing - it's really hit a nerve......not just over lost love but the whole time period, mirrored elements of my life. So beautiful and exquisite and heartbreaking.
This is literally my favorite scene i cried so much because of how heartbroken he looks. He actually accomplished to make you feel completely heartbroken without even saying a word. It's ART.
Now you say it they have a very similar vibe!! I believe they will stay this way, its too natural and I think they know they have filmed something beloved x
I am a true believer that when a film just clicks so magically it is because they choose actors that really reflect the actual character. Because these interviews make me feel like I’m still watching them on the show.
Every now and then two actors are bought together and everything just works. It’s a rare occurrence. It’s like lightning in a bottle. These two are utterly sublime in every scene together and I hope to see them in many more productions. I couldn’t cope with anymore heartbreak just yet so please keep it light though
Leo really is THAT good with emotions. I loved his performance and I hope there's lots of good things coming from him with this. Its like the ultimate portfolio of showing he can do everything. Romance, funny, sad, lost.
When I tell you the acting on this series was PHENOMENAL. I was sobbing. And I enjoyed it much more than the previous film. No shade to the other duo, but this was just SO well done. And natural.
Personally, I love Anne and Jim on the film. They're both brilliant actors who did well in interpreting Emma and Dex. Jim Sturgess had this ability to express emotions with micro expressions, but they work. I think many of us are able to appreciate the series more because the storyline was fleshed out fully, rather than snippets packed into a movie. But I love both the movie and series, tbh.
They both looked so good in the show. They really looked like they were in love. Great acting. I hope they get re-casted together again. Their chemistry was sizzling🔥🔥🔥
Yep; and his story is heartbreaking too - another amazing musician lost too soon...... My ex, loved that song. My ex was my Dexter and he died tragically when we were 30.
I’m a sucker for a deep romance. This series is the best romantic story I’ve seen in years. I love it so much that I’ve watched it 3 times. I realize something new each viewing. There’s more meaning and clarity as each episode unfolds. Thank you for a visual remembrance of what an organic, vulnerable (yet complicated) love and hope looks like. One Day…🥰🥰
Literally my favorite scene/episode of the entire show and they reacted to it??! 😮 quite an intense scene to make them watch of themselves 😅. Surprised to hear that they struggled with figuring it out because it turned out amazing!
I agree with you! This episode was one of my favorite. I had to watched it twice and replay some scenes. Leo was amazing. Both of them just blew me away!!
I have not cried at a movie/show as much in a long time. I was emotionally exhausted by the end it’s was such an amazing series with such beautiful brilliant actors. I loved it but it emotionally damaged me 😭
all their comments are charming and insightful. they’re charming people and it translates so well on screen. ugh, i love them and i’m still broken over the series.
I watched the show two days ago, and I still can’t get it out of my head. Emma and Dexter felt so real to me-I loved them both and rooted for them through every twist and turn. Their story was beautiful, messy, and so deeply human. But Emma’s death completely shattered me. It was so unexpected and heartbreaking, yet it gave the story an even deeper meaning. This show is such a powerful reminder of how fragile life is and how important it is to cherish the people we love. Seeing that so many others feel the same way has been comforting-it shows just how deeply this story has touched people. I’ve been watching TH-cam interviews with the cast and creators, and finding new content about Emma and Dexter has really helped me process it. How has everyone else been coping with that emotional ending?
I could watch this scene over and over, god Leo’s acting is amazing!! This scene and the one where they’re fighting after the dinner both broke my heart 😭💔 Just a reminder that people that love and get you the most, are also the people that can break you the most
Oh my. Love these scenes and the entire episode! and how it contrasts with events in earlier eps. Here, we see Emma underestimating the seriousness and intensity of Dexter's feelings vs in ep 4 during the Greece skinny-dipping scene, we see Dexter doing so. And earlier at the cafe, Emma said you don't need a plan, it's only me when in ep 1 she gave him a hard time for not having a plan for his future :) And truly, NETFLIX, you could have ended the series with this episode!!! The actors are too good at their craft. It's hard to brush off the sadness after watching. Perpetual sadness hinders the brain from solving problems at work. And we need to work to pay for the subscription fees! Please understand and consider this economic argument against heart-breaking endings.
Great commend. Feel it. You know, i decided to rewatch everything, like, starting in ten minutes. After watching them and their neon chemistry in those interviews … striking.
@@dallikadehury1644haha, gotta speak in economic language that Netflix can understand. Netflix probably won't listen. But I am sure sadness from watching fictional characters suffer will fade with time, just like shingles. Emma said something similar. 😊

I can't believe you guys had the reacting to this. I mean i'm not complaining just a bit shocked since most actors don't like watching themselves on screen esp. emotional and more intimate scenes.
In all of this interviews now, I think there is one thing certain. Leo is so like Emma in the book, in that he downplays his acting abilities and maybe is a bit shy about it, but he is one damn fine actor just with his acting abilities alone.
I noticed that too, he tries to remain humble. Leo is a phenomenal talent, reminds me of Leo Decaprio's brillance, depth. Ambika is just good, has that depth, hope to see more of both!! Just stuck on Dex and Em right mow.😢❤
Yes those scenes mentioned were so moving. He showed his humble side that finally realized she was the one all along, and she recognized that he’s finally serious. Loved the way she described it as a moment when all the little moments in History come together. Their deep understanding of their roles made them so good
Love how they lean into each other during this. I thought narrrrrr I'm not gonna cry watching this, nek minnit LOVED their acting and natural chemistry
This scene was so perfect, from the acting to the directing to the music, the cinematography and the context in which it happens which Ambika summed up beautifully!!
Great chemistry. The music is great, also, Wonderlust would have been great. I am obsessed with this show, the book too. I think these kids really got it. Ambika as Em, really getting her resistance, and that she always truly holds a part of herself back, because if he hurts her it will destroy her, and she never quite lets all the way go until her last moment. Then, Leo as Dex, from the moment that Dex sees her and time stops for a second, but he’s not ready. Leo’s understanding that everything is about Em and everything Dex does is about trying to move towards being good enough for her. Dex, he’s not the man he wants to be for her yet, but Dex, was all in from the start. If they’d been together immediately, he would have been/done something stupid and she would have dumped him and never forgiven him. They just did such a great job, Ambika in the death scene, and I totally see lots of awards in Leo’s future. This is such a wonderful love letter to a woman, all about his love for her and striving to be the man she deserves.
One of the best series I’ve ever watched, I love their acting and chemistry. they’re really good actors. But the ending gets me so sad and I cried a lot 😭😭😭

Praise to their acting because even knowing the plot they still manage to stir up those feelings in me again like the film.
I didn't like the movie, Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess didn't have the same chemistry, and because the story is so long it felt awkward to try and fit it into a movie. I didn't have time to develop enough empathy for the characters, and they seemed like such an unlikely pair that I just didn't believe it. Also Anne Hathaway can't do a proper British accent. This particular episode if you watch just after that Greece episode says a lot about.. because in that holiday Emma was seriously in love with him and then wanted to pursue the relationship with Dex but he just wanted it to be casual which made Emma sad and then this episode total turn around as how he is damn serious to be with her and she is just saying it was like only sex and then realising how serious he is… Leo really performed so beautifully with that tear of longing ❤❤❤ best pair ever ❤ obsessed with this series ❤😅
