    I bought a Black on Black XSE V6 last month. I love it!!! That V6 is a winner, has amazingly strong power, is extremely refined & sounds terrific! It's also my first V6! I'd take a V6 over a Turbo 4 any day.

    0-60 in 5.7sec is pretty damn good for a 10 year old engine with an "old" 6 speed conventional auto.

    The camry gets alot of respect from people who aren't sheep because we know the camry is a damn good car. Does everything well while giving you a car that will last.
    Reliability, dependability, fast, comfy, low maintenance, clean styling etc whats there's not to respect? I had 3 camrys in my family of cars I will NEVER talk bad about any camry because they have been good to me they get my respect everytime.
    Like i said sheep ( insert sheep noise here) they just go along with what the other sheep says.

      Even though they may not be true anymore, there are perceptions that Camry's are for older people that don't care about performance. Plus I remember learning to drive in our old '12 Camry and boy was it the opposite of fun. To me at least.

    Test drove an SE model and ended up buying it. Best daily driver I ever owned, period. The ergonomics and transmission make it a breeze driving everyday.

    I'm 27 and I love my new Toyota Camry XSE. I don't understand why some say younger people shouldn't drive a Camry. What other car could be as good as this one? It is a mid-size sedan so it's perfect for when you want to start a family. It gets decent gas mileage and the XSE trim is quite peppy and fun to drive. It's no Mazda 6, but who cares? I will take reliability, resale value, wider dealer network, and reputation over a faster car any day.
    If I wanted a faster car, I would have spent the extra money to buy a real sports car. For what most young people need, the Camry is a GREAT car.

    • @jblyon2
      @jblyon2 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aneesh Sompalli I picked up an XSE V6 just over a week ago (I'm 29 for the record). It handles surprisingly well, yet isn't a jarring ride, is loaded with all the options, and it goes like mad. Due to the 'relatively' light weight there really isn't another V6 sedan that can beat the 0-60 time...pretty much just the Taurus SHO, and that's just barely faster...with 2 turbos. I'll probably trade it in in ~3 years, but even if I kept it for 10 the chances that I'd encounter a reliability problem are slim to none. Everything in it just seems to work too. Entune might not be a perfect infotainment system, but there's a reason it's rated far better than any other offering.

    • @EAS573182
      @EAS573182 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      jblyon2 You will have NO problems, trust me. I owned a 1998 3.0L V6 Toyota Camry for 18 years and 200,000 miles with NO major issues at all. That thing still got up and moved every time I hit the pedal. I decided to go for the I4 version for the 2015 Camry XSE and I love this damn car too.

      +Aneesh S I have a 2016 LE 2.5L and it runs great! The Camry 2.5 and the Mazda 6 2.5 are within a couple of tenths of a second. Now look at reliability.... Camry for the win!

      +Alfredo Galban I drove a 2007 Altima for 4 years and replaced it with a Camry XSE V6. Been driving it for a year now & it's been amazing so far! My Altima was fun, but had transmission and battery problems. I drove a 2006 Corolla before my Altima for 5 1/2 years & it didn't have a single problem.

    Fugly. A great all around reliable car, though.
    However, if I wanted similar reliability and performance but slightly better styling, I would choose the Accord.

    • @Casualdriver
      @Casualdriver 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am a Honda guy but Honda's automatics SUCK. Just check the Accord's history... Even my 08 csx-s (same thing as civic si but with Acura) had problems with the manual transmission... I really hope they fix it soon because we wouldn't want the new Type R to be shaded with a bad transmission.

    • @oldtwins
      @oldtwins 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mr Horse Face That's actually not the problem with the accord v6 auto. The problem is you have zero ability to control what gear you're in. No, not just talking about lack of paddle shifters, or the lack of a +/- on the shifter. It's the lack of even "1", "2" notches on the shifter. Not sporting at all. Try going through the mountains in one of these. SUCKS.

    • @Casualdriver
      @Casualdriver 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The long term does suck thought... check the 98-03 accord... even the new ILX has major transmission problems (check car complaints website)... that's the only thing that honda has trouble with.

    If only they would put wider wheels on the car and lower the car a little bit then it would look much nicer. The problem with these Toyota or Honda sedans is that the wheels are always too close inside the wheel well giving the car a cheap look like you added some cheap body kit or something. The wheels should match the outside of the wheel wells like a Mercedes for example.

      You're right. They could've put like 245/40/18 size tires on this instead of the 225/45/18. Yes if it was lower by like 1.0-1.5 it would look so much nicer. I got the 2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6. I am loving it. It is fully loaded and has lots of tech for the price. First time got on it today and it was pretty fast.

    I would love to see Brian Cooley do a redesign Avalon review. Was pleasant to watch him do the 2011 Avalon he seemed at home in doing it.
    It would be nice to see Brian finish up the Toyota Line up in doing a review. He has a refined perspective on the cars and paying homage to Toyota's Flagship Sedan seems fitting.

    • @tommyshin5979
      @tommyshin5979 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for putting you on the spot there Brian but I started watching your CNET cars because of the Toyota reviews were so honest and on point. I took most of my critiques in getting a 2010 Camry V6 XLE, Camry Hybrid 2012 XLE from CNET's reviews.
      But Alas ended up on the Avalon Hybrid 2014 Limited since it had a better solid feel to its driving stance and amazing balance of decent cozy interior design and classy and elegant exterior. Once I saw the 2015 Camry I keep thinking Predator mouth or Cylon mouth when gazing at the front fascia. Prefer the Maserati Ghibli 2015 cone snub nose the Avalon took on.

    I still think the Camry is kind of the boring 'safe' choice in the segment.
    However, after driving a 2014 SE for a few days during a recent trip to Las Vegas as a rental, I have to say there isn't anything it does poorly. Steering still feels like it is connected to nothing, but the car still pulled on freeway well despite ~100ºF with 4 passenger + luggage & AC maxed.

    • @TimYoung817
      @TimYoung817 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Its very safe but its also a solid car. You know when its -5 outside that this thing is going to start and get you there with a lot of nice features along the way. Driving isn't that exciting but for many Americans the Camry is a good choice.

  • @R777-RLM
    @R777-RLM 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've had 3 Toyota's and they were all reliable vehicles, but the options raise the price to quickly. I like Camry's, but they still have macpherson strut rear suspension, the only car in it's class that retains them. Toyota need to step up to a true multi-link, like they did on the Highlander. Also, I prefer cloth seats, but whatever happened to nice soft, classy looking velour seats and doors. My 1989 $9,300 Mercury Tracer (rebadged Mazda 323) compact car, was more expensive looking inside, than just about anything I see, even expensive cars and trucks with cloth seats. The bucket seats were wider than on both of my new cars, because the middle console wasn't overly wide, like they all seem to be built today.

      No 2015-2016 Camry has fog lights. They are either a combo turn signal/LED daytime running lamps (XSE V6 & XLE V6) or they are full amber turn signals. Fog lights have been discontinued on this model.

    • @94navin

      Well... motor trend says the 2013 speed3 does the 0-60 in 5.8 and they presume that the Camry will do it in the same time... so this is as fast as your speed3. Very fast for a automatic car of this size.

    And yet the Subaru Legacy was chosen as the best 2015 family sedan on Motorweek not the Camry. The last gen model was sexier, this model is BLAH!

      and yet the camry will outsell the entire subaru brand. They sell an average of 400,00 camry each year, about 3 billion cars a year.

      I like style not how many cars were sold. Porsche only sold 200,000 vehicles and yet their employees are getting a $10k bonus. SO what your point is, nothing.

    Average piece of junk. Does it have at least 10-way seats? Automatic levelling xenons? Rearview cam? Startstop feature? 31mpg? A joke? Why should anyone even want a new engine if 2003 year engine gives the same redult.

    The toyota brand is old and boring! Toyota needs to up the style on there cars or most people will just go to Honda

      honda sells 1.5 billion cars a year. Toyota sells 3. They have no worries.

      This is the type of comment you get from a clueless dumbass. The #1 selling auto manufacturer worried about a very very VERY distant Honda lol. I wish people would spend more time educating themselves as they do trolling out of butt hurt!

    Why would Toyota give their Camry the Lexus type grill? The Lexus brand buy many auto critics and by customers as well have been noted as some of the ugliest cars on the market today. This to me is no better. If a design is not working for one brand, it sure won't work for another.

      +AXP Bonecrusher I gotta say the new style is quite a handsome looking car, if I was in a market for a new mid-size car this one is probably one of my top choices with a few others in mind.
