I am an Indian fan but i would place Uzbekistan instead of India as the Gold Medal Favourites along with the US. They are really head-strong and have a bit of ruthlessness which India lack i believe. India have always punched below their weight when it comes to crunch situations, so maybe not favorites to win the gold but a definite medal prospect. Also you guys have missed to include few good teams like Poland, Azerbaijan, France etc (With players like Duda, Wojtaszek, Shak, Radja, Maxime, Bacrot etc). Dark Horses which can win a medal. Surely this average rating stuff doesn't mean a lot for these players who play at the elite level regularly. Maybe you guys could have picked the strongest chess teams/countries that usually play at the top level.
that's coz india never had a team full of monsters like this time, Arjun, pragg& gukesh all are monsters, and 1 high rated solid player like vidit, no need to underestimate ourselves this time, this team has more killer instincts than any other team coz of top 3 boards being world #4,6,7 and all are inherently attacking players(they attack differently like pragg is intuition+calculation+technical+tricky like nepo, arjun is attacking+intuitive+calculation, guki is insanely precise calculator according to carlsen+attacking+creative+ a bit less intuitive than pragg). Uzbekistan has just abdusattarov who is also a monster world#5 but rest are just good not killers with just 2650-2700 (here i am saying good realtive to top 10 in the world not underestimating them, their other 2 boards apart from abdu, sindarov and other guy are basically vidit with more attack but 20-30 less elo than him) not 2750+ unlike usa and india players, as for usa there is no universe in which so,fabi, levon (who are much older than our top 3) have more killer instincts, they are more experienced but recently pragg and gukesh have done very well in top tournaments against the same opponents & arjun vs levon is also an equal rivalry which started from champions chess tour so it's even. As for china, ding doing well makes their top 3 also very strong but again nothing is for certain about how ding plays these days. In earlier Olympiads strongest top 3 we had was anand(who was old and much more solid compared to his glory days ), harikrishna(very solid and very good endgames but very drawish) & vidit (positional but again solid and had issues converting winning advantages that's why never reached top 10) and other attacking players of past like adhiban were hit and miss and much weaker than any of our current top 3. For the first time india has such a killer team in which none of the top 3 are too solid but actually killers(they are solid too but that's coz of their level so automatically any 2750 guy aka top 10 will be more solid than an inherently solid 2650 player if he wants to coz he works on more theory etc and needs to be universal so all top 10 can be very solid if they want to, but none of our top 3's inherent style is solid and safe chess unlike someone like so or giri.)
Also one more point - make no mistake elo also matters coz many top 10 or top 20 players have more killer instinct than carlsen like nepo, rapport, duda etc but they are simply weaker than him in terms of level & that's true against anyone as he is generally 2840-2860 whereas others in top 10 are generally 2750-2790 so he is about 60-80 elo higher than others so even though other players might be more attacking he is technically superior than them by level(60-70 elo higher) so he dominates. Therefore inherent style matters only if the level of players isn't too much apart. Hence my point is all our top 3 being 2750+ also give us a huge advantage coz all other teams top 3's will have some players in range 2650-2700 as well.
D for England?! Peak ratings: Adams - 2761 Vitiugov - 2751 McShane - 2713 Howell - 2712 Jones - 2709 Their ceiling is very high. Jeez, D after all that but Norway is B?! I should stop the video right there.
So if you put Kasparov, Karpov, Anand and Spassky in there, you’d expect them to be favorites? Nothing indicates that any of the players can hit their ceiling again, that’s why their rating is where it is. That being said they’re still a very solid and balanced team, so anything could happen.
@@SR-fs2fd ooohh. Still odd tho. I don't know who's on the team but France has MVL, Bacrot, Moussard... still seems like they would make a higher rated team than England for example

I think you should have done top 20. Between top 10 and top 20 are something very interesting teams like Poland, Sapin, France, Ukraine and Armenia. The latter almost won gold in 2022. The difference in rating average between top 6 (Norway) and top 17 (Armenia) is just 25 points, which is less than the difference between numbers 2 and 3 (India and China) or numbers 3 and 4 (China and Uzbekistan). Basically I think most those teams deserves as much attention as any team after the top 5, I don't think Poland or France are less likely to win as England or Hungary.

@@bhough410 that means they are there to hunt not play around. Gukesh is a fighter, Pragg is a defender, Erigaisi is a sniper but Vidit is too emotional to be playing in men's Olympiad. They might beat Uzbekistan but over 11 rounds I predict Uzbekistan will finish with a higher score.
@@SR-fs2fdRecently it is more like Gukesh is a defender and Pragg is an attacker.
Predatory 😂😂😂 this time India will smoke Uzbekistan and that Abdusattorov will be Taken dowm
@@bhough410No one can beat Magnus on any given day.
Who is here after india wins gold in both Open and women section ------->
Dude last time we lost because we had a poor board 3 and 4, this team is collosal. Remember Gukesh won the most difficult tournament of chess.
Put hikaru on any board and USA wins 2 individual and 1 team gold at least.
For that, he has to compete
D for England?!
Peak ratings:
Adams - 2761
Vitiugov - 2751
McShane - 2713
Howell - 2712
Jones - 2709
Their ceiling is very high. Jeez, D after all that but Norway is B?! I should stop the video right there.
Peak doesn't equal current.
Peak means nothing knobhead 😂😂😂
So if you put Kasparov, Karpov, Anand and Spassky in there, you’d expect them to be favorites? Nothing indicates that any of the players can hit their ceiling again, that’s why their rating is where it is. That being said they’re still a very solid and balanced team, so anything could happen.
Vishy could hit his peak for like 2 or 3 games but in long run for 11 rounds its highly unlikely. For any old player.
@@Parth_20 Nah his peak was so high, there is no way vishy can play chess on the same level as he did on his peak lets be real
No way Iran or Norway have more chances than Hungary. Also, why isn't France participating??
France is participating but is not in top 10 teams by average rating since Alireza is not participating.
@@SR-fs2fd ooohh. Still odd tho. I don't know who's on the team but France has MVL, Bacrot, Moussard... still seems like they would make a higher rated team than England for example
@@user-vt4hd8hb4v We've got MVL Bacrot Maurizzi Fressinet and Lagarde for this one... Pretty much the best possible team, unfortunately we'll miss Alireza. Still good enough for 14th Elo with 2653.
Yes Hungary is washed 😂😂😂
@@samarthbagwe1736 Ahead of both in the standings...
Impressive how Fabi knows everyone's current rating off the top of his head.
The issue with England and hungary is that they have old semi retired players and it is hard to see them compete with young active players from other countries.
What video games does Fabi play?
I am here after seeing this S tier US a** kicked, and is not even top 10 on standings
So frustrating to watch the world #3 get ignored by Cristian, and constantly hear Cristian overrule Fabi.
Calm down, mate,They are friends
@@Bēdguy69 That doesn't impact my enjoyment of watching someone far less knowledgeable questioning Fabi though.
@@robertfredericks3139 He is not less knowledgeable - he is just not as good a chess player.
Great video. If India wins, US falls to second tier, second tier falls to third tier.
I see Fabi been playing the forearm gambit accepted
Americans outsourcing their team to win brainy stuff 😅 : italian filipino, armenian, cuban 😅😅
Fabi was born in USA
@@Lemon-qs3uz he played his peak years as Italian
@@sbramp that means literally nothing. He started playing for the US and has played again for the US since 2015. He played for the world championship under the US
Rapport has been higher rated than Judit and has already played the Candidates when he is only half way his career. As incredible as Judit was, I don't think she was stronger than Richard.
It's coming home!
the volcano below Edinburgh castle will erupt before it ever comes home lol
Who's home, remains the question :P
"Home" ? xD. Home of chess is India where it was invented in ancient to medieval times. Even if modern chess with few additional rules are concerned, it still wouldn't be England. Everything's not football. You don't deserve the D tier though.
Iran c? We dont have any losses
I'd like to see the teams based on categories... a Classical player, Blitz player, Senior, Junior, and Women's player.
Actually Iran beat Norway, 😅
What are the games fabi is referring to?
That’s the real question
