Not From Here - An Immigration Anthem by Jonathan Ring

A song I wrote to remind us all that, when discussing and arguing the issue of immigration, we should not forget the fact that most of us came here or ended up here initially from somewhere else. We need to be compassionate to those already here and welcoming to those who desire what our own ancestors were seeking through immigration - peace, freedom and the opportunity for a better life.

Hey Johnathan. I was a slightly younger horn player in HS honor bands around your time. I use to look up to you as a player. Now I also look up to you as a brilliant, empathetic, compassionate, person. Very well done Sir!
By the way, I recently moved back to our “home state”. Unfortunately, the sentiments in this song are VERY unpopular & Extremely Unwelcome in the overwhelming majority of this state. I don’t even recognize our old “home”. If you are a praying type of guy, pray for us. Otherwise, send positive vibes our way. We need it! Thanks!
