      One thing to keep in mind, the 3.3m is about 37kg and 4m is about 45kg. So if you are gonna fold it up and put in the car... rather than storing it on a trailer... then beware, 45kg is heavy. And geez even 37kg is a mission to get this folded up boat in and out of the car.
      I nearly got the 4m, but when considering the weight, decided to go with 3.3m. You'll also need a slightly more powerful outboard. A 15hp outboard is better suited to the 4.0m... 10hp is a little underpowered. But a 2 stroke 15hp outboard is about 10kg heavier (36kg) than the lightweight (26kg) Tohatsu 9.8 or Mercury 9.9 outboard. So you also have to ask yourself the question on how heavy do you want the outboard to be.

      @@Y2J Thank you so much for the reply. Currently, I own a yamaha 9.9 hp 4 strokes outboard. I may consider the 3.3 m. Initially, I was looking at the 15 hp outboard 4 strokes but they weight like 51 kg. I struggled so hard to lift them. I only weight 77 kg myself. You are right about the weight. The reason I choose True Kit discovery because of the ability to pack in and out of the car. If I struggle with the 4 m, then there is no fun for sure. Oh man, I wish I can go to the dealership and try them out. :-) Thanks alot, brother.

      @@dicungDon Sweet. My advice is get 4m if it can fit in your vehicle and get 15hp 2 stroke motor. 9.9 will be a bit under power when boat is loaded. Weight shouldn't be your problem. You are not carrying all the weight all the time. Only from car to the ground. 4m is longer and wider. You have more space. It's better everywhere except to your pocket.

    Great video and nicely informative. It maybe worth mentioning that when laying your outboard horizontally, not all makes and models lay with the handle down. You would have to look in your own outboard's user manual or on the engine itself, for which side to lay it down. Is this the 4 meter version and what pump model is that please?

    Thanks for this. Mine should arrive any day! Where did you get the registration lettering?

    • @Y2J
      @Y2J  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      www.funkymonkeyboatnames.co.uk, but I warn you it doesn't actually go on "nice and neat". The lettering has wrinkles. IMHO you're better of buying stencils from Mitre 10 and just using spraypaint. And repaint as necessary. I asked Rod from True Kit and he said it's difficult to get any lettering to stick the Valmex. He reccomended marine spraypaint.

      I actually got it from Aliexpress, it's a Genovo GP80D, www.incept.co.nz/pumps-and-electric-inflators/parsun-genovo-gp-80digital That's a NZ site selling it, but I got it slightly cheaper from Aliexpress.

      Never had to repair it, they do give you a repair kit with glue and patches. You should watch the videos on their youtube channel, it's called TRUE KIT.

    How much does that outboard weigh? I can’t decide between 6hp or 9.9hp It needs to be something I can lift easily

    • @KiwiKaimoana
      @KiwiKaimoana 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      that's the tohatsu 9.8 short shaft 2 stroke outboard, 26kg.Don't get the 6hp, 6hp is underpowered for this boat.

      yep. if you're gonna get it, get the 15hp motor, the 10hp is not enough
