I believe he collects scrap (Laptop battery Car keys and stuff) to make the product.
He might have bought a new shoes to make product look good but thats okay you can detach shoes later on and can use it independently.
i don't see any wastage of stuff. i would rather say the wastage is efficiently utilized in this product.
Those who says it takes laptop battery and car keys FYI in india if you explore scrap market i can bet you, you will be surprised what you can get with small amount of bucks

Super cool vide and project. Please sir - can you provide links to the parts you used? Especially the wheel "grippers" and the 90 degree gears? I want them but has so far failed to find where to buy them! Any help would be very appreciated! Thanks and keep up the good work you do!
If you are looking for the gears search the inner diameter for what its going on and put worm gear after it so like 1/8" worm gear

By the way this already exists. They are called hover shoes. I think segway made the first ones. They don't have a throttle, I think they have the same goofy algo as the "hoverboard". Both of these inventions shouldn't be called "hover" anything btw.
