Ficks First Law for steady-state diffusion

Steady-state diffusion is where the rate of diffusion is not changing with respect to time. The rate is constant. Therefore, the flux is proportional to the concentration gradient and the constant of proportionality for mass transport is the Diffusion Coefficient. Materials scientists can use this to predict flux for things like gas separation membranes and much more.
