Would you now choose to use 1mm lead screw instead of 2mm ??? Stepper motor seems to move router too fast i think ?? One needs to beable to control 0.5mm increment or less when you trimming a slot as example

some type of variable frequency drive that can speed or slow the pulses would be an awesome addition so you can have fast movement when swapping bits but fine control when trying to dial in an exact depth.

ive noticed someone has the same problem as me. Could you do an update on how to do the wiring. The diagram is really difficult to follow if your no electric expert. I have purchased all the items and await delivery. So please Please can you provide an update so I can build this machine. Great video though. I have also done a screen shot of the png and the dimensions for the cogs are missing the thickness measurement. Im assuming this will effect the runnig of the machine when it is running if i get it wrong.

The answer to the question. 1. There are two ways to adjust the output of the 5V regulator. 1) Change the variable resistor - While measuring the voltage of the output with a tester, turn the variable resistor to set it to 5V. 2) Cut the back pattern - The default output is an adjustable voltage. If you need to fix the 5V, use a knife to cut the wire. (The method is detailed on the sales site.) 2. When the motor does not operate, please check the following. 1) Check if each volt (5V, 12V) is coming out correctly 2) Check if the wiring connection is correct 3) A4988's "STEP", "DIR" must have a resistor (47K) 4) Check if the pulse is coming out properly from the NE555 (You must have an oscilloscope, or you can check it roughly by moving the needle with an analog tether) 5) If it still doesn't work, temporarily connect A4988's "DIR" to 5V forcibly and manually connect 5V and 0V (GND) to "SETP" alternately. Con molta calma l'ho costruito tutto. falegnameria e meccanica tutto bene. L'impianto elettrico non riesco a farlo funzionare. Faccio tutto come il disegno ma non riesco. L'unica differenza è nel regulator 5V invece di esserci scritto 4R7 c'è scritto 100. Ne ho già ordinati tre ma nella foto di aliexpress c'è scritto 4R7 ma arriva con 100, Se mi sai risolvere questo problema ti ringrazio molto e ti auguro una buona giornata Maurizio

Would you now choose to use 1mm lead screw instead of 2mm ??? Stepper motor seems to move router too fast i think ?? One needs to beable to control 0.5mm increment or less when you trimming a slot as example

Awesome! Can you add an automatic stop to a certain measurement? For example, when the bit is raised and touches (ground out) metal height gauge, the stepper motor will stop automatically
I am thinking about using the Enable pin or Sleep pin in the circuit.
It seems possible, but it is a little difficult to give a definite answer because I haven't tried it correctly.

some type of variable frequency drive that can speed or slow the pulses would be an awesome addition so you can have fast movement when swapping bits but fine control when trying to dial in an exact depth.

ive noticed someone has the same problem as me. Could you do an update on how to do the wiring. The diagram is really difficult to follow if your no electric expert. I have purchased all the items and await delivery. So please Please can you provide an update so I can build this machine. Great video though. I have also done a screen shot of the png and the dimensions for the cogs are missing the thickness measurement. Im assuming this will effect the runnig of the machine when it is running if i get it wrong.

Va tutto bene tranne DC 5V 12V NE555 modulo generatore di impulsi di frequenza escono 4,65V. Non so come regolare la tensione di uscita. La resistenza variabile di quanto deve essere e come fare a misurarla. Il motore non va. Scusa di tutto ma voglio arrivare alla fine.

The answer to the question.
1. There are two ways to adjust the output of the 5V regulator.
1) Change the variable resistor - While measuring the voltage of the output with a tester, turn the variable resistor to set it to 5V.
2) Cut the back pattern - The default output is an adjustable voltage. If you need to fix the 5V, use a knife to cut the wire.
(The method is detailed on the sales site.)
2. When the motor does not operate, please check the following.
1) Check if each volt (5V, 12V) is coming out correctly
2) Check if the wiring connection is correct
3) A4988's "STEP", "DIR" must have a resistor (47K)
4) Check if the pulse is coming out properly from the NE555
(You must have an oscilloscope, or you can check it roughly by moving the needle with an analog tether)
5) If it still doesn't work, temporarily connect A4988's "DIR" to 5V forcibly and manually connect 5V and 0V (GND) to "SETP" alternately.
(At this time, the motor should move in one direction little by little)

Con molta calma l'ho costruito tutto. falegnameria e meccanica tutto bene. L'impianto elettrico non riesco a farlo funzionare. Faccio tutto come il disegno ma non riesco. L'unica differenza è nel regulator 5V invece di esserci scritto 4R7 c'è scritto 100. Ne ho già ordinati tre ma nella foto di aliexpress c'è scritto 4R7 ma arriva con 100,

T8 Lead Screw의 lead를 8mm가 아닌 4mm나 2mm, 1mm로 줄려서 사용하시면
좀더 정밀하게 조절하실수 있습니다. (lead가 작을수로 세밀하게 움직히지만, 위아래 움직임이 느려집니다.)
저는 Depth Gauge로 측정해서 높이를 조절합니다.
