Montserrat Caballé's Foundation has organised their first master classes in Barcelona with the great Josep Carreras.

The voices are green and need quality mentoring. Most lack Italian style and no connection to their body with good chest coordination.
Takamasa Yamamura's "Il mio tesoro" was dreadful. He learned nothing from Carreras. Laura Crespo was no better. Bad diction and singing. Things improved with Carolina Fajardon's aria from Butterfly. She also needs diction guidance. Sara Pavlović was wonderful. Brava! Oscar Encinas... Bravissimo! Lan Yao sang the very difficult aria from Il pirata (Caballé said this was her most difficult role) brilliantly. Bravissima! Teresa Fuentes was good. Great diction. Katerina Tretyakova was also good. One could hear rude people taking in the audience just before she started the aria. Marc Sala sang beautifully. Gorgeous man. Bravissimo!
While Mr. Yamamuras' voice wasn't as beautiful as it could have been. He did some things artistically that some don't do. He needs to loosen up and bring more brilliance to the voice. Ms. Crespo wasn't terrible, she's just inexperienced and needs polishing and good mentoring.
