So many people complain of the Africans and their bad work. They seem to like the ratail combs a lot.

"I never detangled to my roots." Welp, sis, THAT part is your fault. The stylist should be professional and use good technique. The client should be responsible and respectful and take care of our own hair. You can't show up to an appt with your roots matted and tangled and then blame all of the bad outcome on the stylist.

It seems like African braiding shops are messing up everybody's hair. I don't wear weave and had braids once and it hurt so much I wanted to slap the braider and she was a friend and she is licensed. I don't see how people go to them and their real hair looks like shit. Majority don't have edges themselves.

I live in south Africa. There are many Nigerian hair stylists. Most of them obly care about the style, not your hair. I started doing my own hair.

Blue Magic grease is bomb and i blow dry it in my hair and my kids. Blue magic is a conditioner.

I've always had long thick hair except when I decided to get a fade. And my mama swore by blue magic grease and water. But when i walk into a salon i expect to see professional supplies not something i can find at walmart.

Hahahahaha, I couldn’t!!!! I know exactly what u went through, had the exact same experience. I am now nursing my hair after I grew it on my own for 2 years. My African sister used the recktail too!!! I had a huge facelift after that. I took the crochet braid the same day Cz I was in pain. No more!!! So sorry for ur experience

Quick story! Once I went to the Africans and I always use to go so once I went there one day 7:00 am to 9:30ish pm and I was getting my hair done and it was so so so tight! You know when you pretend to scratch your head to see how much hair you have left? So yeah I did that and my scalp was BLEEDING yes BLEEDING I texted my mom and was like my hair is bleeding and she was like just stay their and get your hair done it’s okay. Then the Lady that was doing my hair when she saw that I saw my scalp was bleeding she tried to stop it 😩 really! But since that day I never went back. Thanks for listening

I AGREEE 100000000000, i just came back from the salon just for a two strand twist, my hair is natural never been relaxed, ill say im 4b? anyway, the owner of the store had this other hair stylist to do my hair, i hate how they use you as a test subject for people who are unexpeirence. anyway she started combing my hair dry, (my hair was in cornrows, so i took them out but didn't comb it) she combed starting from the middle part of my hair, i swear i feel my hair was breaking off, she used a wide tooth comb but that doesnt change the facts. she then takes to wash my hair, and do the same thing. i feel my hair is damaged, i don't know but after she twist it up, she use the ORS lock and twsist gel. it wasnt worth 75 dollars. how can you tell if your hair i breaking off?

Yooo I had recently cut my hair last June 2018 because of heat, and they used a blow dryer on me and lemme tell you I was about to cry, because now what if my heat damage came back? Like it’s not my fault I got thick hair
