Oh, Miss Val, I don't know you or your inner bubble, but you're making me blubber and boohoo!! Stop that! Thank you for your artistic way of contributing joy to our lives through the people you have touched. As I said, I don't know you, but I love you!!! God bless!!!
The joy on jordyns face as she is coaching these athletes. The Razorbacks have gotten a great human being in their new coach. Their program will grow so much under her direction.
What stands out to me the most is watching not only the students grow and mature but watching you Miss Val grow and mature as well. Learning the importance of not just talking the talk but walking the walk. You have impacted so many students through your coaching role because you have role modeled the most important life lessons. How to listen to feedback and using it to make you better rather than responding with defensiveness. Not just how to win, but also how to fail and to use it to make you a better person. How to admit when you are wrong. Helping young women to recognize that they are part of a sport and there are many positives to take away from it but their worth is not measured by the sport or how many wins they have. I could go on and on. You have role modeled what it truly means to be a coach and have set an amazing example not just for people entering into a coaching position, but for everyone navigating this rollercoaster we call life. Best wishes for this next chapter in your life.
Miss Val, you are an endless source of inspiration!! A torch bearer, you light the road ahead with Your brilliant Light for all of us encouraging everyone to do the same. You expedite the evolution not only in the world of gymnastics but in the life of humanity. Although we've never met in person, I have all respect for you. Wishing you all the best, and may your dreams come true!! With love And a big hug from Hungary, Anita
I’ve seen so many videos about how you help gymnastics feel themselves again, feel at home... and be happy. It’s safe to say you are my Idol and I’m truly in admiration of you and your work. Thank you.
I was searching for something on the small whatsapp chat I have for my mentees and I found I had shared with them a very small video in Aug last year by you on how Success is not Winning. Today, Sunday I decided to explore further and looked for the original that I found on You Tube. Then I found one more - the talk you have at HRR and then the one about your send offs and your students….I had about 4 hours with two of my mentees and I found myself quoting you a lot. Today was my “ Learn From Miss Val” day and I am so glad I got to see your videos. Just a small note to say Thank You for the learnings
