At their core, they are still thriving in a very wishy-washy music scene. They are no doubt pop punk saviors for the next generation. But this album is more mature than what their foundation is built on, so it makes sense that people might be a little confused. But this album feels so personal and mature. Coming from a guy who grew up when pop punk was at its highest in the early 00s, I would have or shipped this record. And I would've never tried to compare it to any "hits" that they maybe would've had on a past record. The dark blue indigo mood of the lyrics and feel of the guitar work and mood is so well done. It still shocks me that they are in their early 20s and are able to not get wrapped up in what pop punk's scene can do to a band. They are one of the most original bands playing in one of the most typical scenes. They stay true to the fact that simple songwriting mixed with real raw passion can create an explosive fanbase. I really hope the very young teenagers that are a little bit confused with this album come back to it at another time in their lives.

Mad Hisser I would say that TSSF and TWY are both redefining and raising the expectations of what pop punk can be.
Mad Hisser When I first listened to it I expected it to be much like their last album, it's not its still full of anger but it's filled with hope too. The guitar is brilliant and Parker hasn't went much outside his range but he's fucking brilliant, this isn't pop punk anymore it feels like a new genre.
I feel like this album really has to grow on you but once it does it's fucking incredible.

+Matt LeClerc You know what I'm realizing the technique this band does so well is blending upbeat and downbeat music. The downbeat draws you in while the upbeat brings you up. It's pretty compelling really. I needed something good to listen to while sipping a beer on new years day to try to stave off my hangover.

Man, i love the story so far and always have since before they blew up in popularity and the new wave of fans came, but i feel they are slowing down and going the path of letdowns such as turnover, citizen, title fight, and neck deeps new song that released recently and more. This new stuff is okay. Its not bad but it doesnt wow me or hype me up or doesnt get you pumped as under soil and dirt. I was hoping so much tssf wouldnt die down and keep it real in the world of pop punk like handguns, the wonder years, and forever came calling. Im not hating on the new stuff im just dissappointed that the potential isnt topping the original stuff.
