Bhai it takes time, one should have patience, most of the folks who were working with me in infosys are director of engineering in some or the other company earning twice-thrice what normal iim graduate would earn . Product companies pay much better, SDE1 is making 30-40 LPA a year
I'm 2010-14 BTech from Tier 2 college. Worked at a mass recruiter from 2014-16 (the usual 3.2 lpa). Had a lot of fun outside of work - first time getting 20k in hand, first girlfriend, own vehicle, anda maggi at night, always surrounded by 4-5 friends, making money while bei g on bench etc. But 18 months down the line, it really kicked me to leave Hinjewadi asap, get a masters and get into finance/consulting which is more managerial. Came to France, did an MSc at a cheaper cost than IIMs and got a finance role an a trillion dollar evaluated company. Advice to 22-23 year olds - DO NOT stay for more than 2-3 years in IT. It's too slow and designed to keep you middle class forever.
What rubbish. It depends upon whether you like the work or not. You didn't, so you moved on. Many do, so they stick around. IT is the backbone of societal advances across all the fields. If you're a good engineer, you will earn a lot more than any other profession. Check median salaries of IT professional in a country like US. After medical profession, it's the IT field. In India too, various disciplines of IT are in the top 10. Advice to 22-23 year olds, stay in IT if you like the work and are good at what you do. If you get a job abroad, you'll earn way more than median finance guy. You'll earn way more than CEOs of most Indian companies being a L3 dev.
@@jal.ajeera you probably never heard of sectors like Investment banking, private equity, hedge fund, strategy consulting, product management etc. That's where good students go or want to go. It pays more in both US and India than IT. Only bang average crowd stays in IT for more than 5 years. However good you become, there's a ceiling in IT.
@@sagarranjan4585 Lol. Clearly you shouldn't be advicing young generation because your own understanding is so skewed. Even in service companies, a good senior engineer hits upwards of 15L and if they have switched multiple times, it'll be more than 25L easily. Abroad, you are getting paid 180k as a median number for an L3. Product management of IT products get similar or higher. Investment bankers' median salary is much lesser. Also, IT has a massive requirement for resources. There is a limited ceiling for resources in finance. If every engineering graduate leaves IT after 2-3 years and joins finance/consulting, as per your advice, quite literally they will be jobless coz there aren't enough jobs in finance to handle these many people. I think you were a mediocre/bad engineer, hence couldn't hack it in IT. It's great you found your calling, but calling IT 5+ years experience mediocre, especially when those people will make your financing job obsolete in the future with AI, it takes a special type of moron to come to this idiotic conclusion.
Content (data) is booming but you always need a platform for people to consume that content and IT/Software roles will cater to them. An IIM guy speaking about IT with vague points makes me laugh😅

Half story. No easy money. World is changing very fast. Products life cycle has become short. Technologies are becoming very creative and reaching very fast. Thinking about 9 to 5 and enjoying weekends will be short enjoyment. Update your skills.. then only you will survive. This is true in business as well. No short cuts. Work in any field with dedication. No one can stop achieving top position and money. Grass is always greener on other side .
Even i got my first job in wipro, i was from biomedical engineering field. During my 1.5yr, most of the time , I was in bench and if i got projects, they were just support roles. But that was just the starting days. During my bench time, I utilized my time do daily 7-8 hr of coding, got expertise in that and after 1.5yr, I switched into Product based company. Now, still i learn in weekends and trying to upskill to get into more bigger Product based company. I always try to either stay with good people or living alone. Ho jata sab, if you are eager to learn.

Please make a video for fresher Civil Engineers for Masters, Scope, MBAs, Field switch etc

Bhai kuch cheeze bata sakta hu
Kyu mere kud ka dost civil me he 4/5 sal he
Aur maine dekha bhi he bahat wo ko
Dekho bhai as you know civil me mostly 2 types of jobs hota he
1) design wala 2) construction wala
Isme design sector is small par isme agar kam karoge to thik thak desk job hoga and you have a decent work like
Ab he construction side
Bhai isme Bahut jhol me
1st of all isme work life balance namke koi cheez i nehi he
Har waqt field me rahna padega
Mera dost L&T construction me he wo bolta he bhai ye job usiko thik lage ka
Jisko civil se itna pyaar ho ke use aur kuch dikhei na
Warna after sometime you won't like it
This is reality
Ha Civil me sabse jyada scope he Govt jobs me
Jo sayed dusre branchs me nehi he
Aur agar Govt jobs lag gaya civil wala
Tab to bhai this the best job koi MBA ya phir dusre job iske as pas nehi a sakta
Par wohi competition, tyari eisob ka chakkar he
Now you can do MBA in sales and marketing usse bhi Civil companies me jobs milta he
Par agar field switch ke bareme soch rahe ho
to MBA is a good option
You can do that

Switched to BCom after 12th science and sitting at home with NO job and gap year for CAT.
Meanwhile saare BTech wale Job kr rhe. Thinking of learning coding and switching again 🥲

Indian IT is not underpaid at all. Even an average IT employee from tier 2 and 3 college after couple of switches start earning 1-1.5 lakh rupees per month by the time they turn 30.
