I'm an adult beginner and I'm finding my front of my hips to be quite sore after becoming better at one-legged anything on ice I'm unable to get to sleep right away unless I lay on my belly on the floor for a while is this about poor core muscles or? Thank you

Thank you for sharing! Soreness in the front of your hips is common as you build strength. It’s likely due to tight or overworked hip flexors. Try gentle hip flexor stretches (like a low lunge) and core/glute strengthening exercises to balance the workload. Lying on your belly stretches the hip flexors, which can help. If the soreness persists, consider consulting a physical therapist. Great job on your progress!

It is! These aren’t beginner skaters demonstrating but these are great exercises for advanced beginners, making the transition from learn to skate to private lessons on club ice.

Thank you so much for your feedback! I’m glad you’re exploring skating exercises. I also wanted to share some exciting news-I’m working on a brand-new video course specifically designed for the first year on the ice, focusing on basic exercises for figure skaters. It will be available soon on my website, styleskating.com. Stay tuned!
