Professor Munene Macharia himself is a walking repository of knowledge-an African archive. He not only articulates his points seamlessly but walks his audience through nuanced historical concepts-from the implicit to the explicit. Much of what he posits is not only factual and verifiable but clearly vindicative. Macharia's arguments relate to my work on "The Cost of Loyalism" of the 20th Century. I have much to draw on this historical episode. I find his way of thinking savvy and idiosyncratic!

My love for history that started in highschool has been reignited 🔥 a lot of late... This kind of in depth history should be taught in schools. We need to understand how we got to where we are today, and what tactics were used then and are still used now. How divisions come to be and who they benefit. Our history has so many gaps based on the shallow mentions in the school books

Lynn I love History. It was one of my best subjects in high school and I got an A. My you tube is full of History, people, documentaries. To hear this part of my history has awakened a serious curiosity and I want to know more. We need more and details of the things that happened behind closed doors to shape Kenya. For example, why is Delamere and Delmonte farms still owned by the whites? There must be a solution. Nothing is ever as it seems. Thank you for using your platform to educate and enlighten Kenyans. Do thorough research on who Kenyatta really was and why his son married a white woman. Anyway, all the politicians serve the same master ,so guide your energy

    A great episode!
Too Early for Birds did a theatrical production on the life and times of Tom Mboya (first in 2019 then again this year). It was very enjoyable and related many of the things that Prof touched on.
Until Everyone Is Free is a good Kenyan podcast whose first season delved deep into the life and times of Pio Gama Pinto. I recommend this one to all Kenyans.
The history taught in Kenyan schools and regurgitated by programs in mainstream media is mostly bogus. Fortunately there are alternative sources of information like this podcast that are not gatekept.

Exactly, what is he afraid of, Tomboya's assasins are long dead and burried.

There is so much l did not know about Mboya l have benefited from Prof's research but with schooling Mboya was a student of Kabaa High school a school l joined many years later and the former Archbishop Ndingi who was the chairman of the board confirmed it.
