I have a lot of respect for Cody's knowledge and his ability to stick to his beliefs. But the thing I like most about the guy is his sense of humor. It's subtle, dry and makes me laugh out loud. I con only imagine how much his students come out of his courses with.
HOLY HELL, I DIDN'T KNOW YOU GUYS KNEW CODY!!! WOW!!! I've remembered his technique of toughing his feet up for years and thought of him when I read the books on the Commanche and Apache.
love cody became a fan of his watching him on discovery. Tried this as a kid with slate ended up in hospital after the slate exploded and a shard ended up stuck in my eye, lol was trying to make a spear point after a lesson in school about how early man.
@Dmam4565 so did I I am a vet and I didn't give 2 craps he embellished his application lol you know he did it for the job, but he was far more knowledgeable and worked with Cody Joe was just fake machismo acting like a roided out moron especially with that Matt dude. Cody and Dave was the best episodes I liked Matt aswell
@@saharafox8209 Yeah, Joe definitely ruined the show for me. I was pretty young back then, but from what I remember Dave and Cody always seemed to get along and have respect for each other despite having different backgrounds. This is random but I emailed Dave back then asking him something about the show since I was a big fan, and he actually answered me back which meant a lot to me at the time. Also, thank you for your service
@@saharafox8209 i guess I never watched the show much with the original duo. I actually thought Matt and joe worked really well together though. The biggest problem with Cody and joe was just that they didn’t get along well together. Cody had a tendency to not communicate when things got hard. Which always pissed joe off and made him push Cody and make the situation worse. They just didn’t do well together.
I needed to cut some twine at work but we aren’t allowed to carry knives or have scissors outside of the office (Ik they treated us like kids) so I grabbed a piece of shale from the planters and slammed it on the ground, grabbed a shard and used that. You’d be surprised how much use I got out of that little shard
24:34 To me, Cody is also holding a axehead. So, not only would I have a cutting edge blade from the stone, I would also be able to fit what is left of that stone into the fork of a 3 to 4ft stick about 4 to 5 inches round. Tie that sucker down tight! or wedge it if possible... and now I have a functioning axe. I love Cody.
Man i love these videos, now if Cody were to expand on this subject and show us how to make rope from skinning twigs and attach handles on the blades it would blow my socks off ! Keep it up boys, we are thirsty for more

My grandfather used to knap out arrowheads and spear heads, he could walk down a field and pick out flint and I could never see what he noticed. My dad could walk a corn field when we would dove hunt and would always come back with one to two arrowheads he found. Watched Codys show all the time on Discovery and now they have nothing but garbage on it.
That was all in the editing, they were trying to make him look bad when in reality the producers were ignoring real problems and trying to build drama. Cody's the real deal, I'm proud to have taken a class of his.
Now I know what I'm doing next time I go camping. I might get weird looks when my answer to "whatd you do last weekend" is "went and banged a bunch of rocks together" with a smile in my face cause it was fun (and hopefully no hand injuries).
Cody Lundin is such a creep. And waffling? It takes him 30 minutes to say what a normal person would say in 5. Never liked him, or that Dave Canterbury, or Les Stroud. Such a bunch of legends in their own minds. And isn’t a rifleman by definition “tactical”? Where did you serve?
When are you going to need to improvise a knife? Just go get a knife. Get the right tool for the job. Now, a rock is a good hammer if everyone ran off and left you without one. A rock for a knife would seriously depend on your area.
