Don’t throw yourself into despair, God is here for us as a trainer, he is not here as a boss. He’s here to help us get better. God works in us to will and to do for His good pleasure. You have to recognize that Jesus will treat you the same way He treated the disciples. Keep on going and never fall into despair. But the main difference here is that Peter acknowledged his mistake/sin and went on to become one of the greatest apostles of our time while Judas committed suicide because he didn't handle his despair properly. And so, salvation is predicated on identifying with Jesus. HOW DO YOU HELP YOURSELF? God isn't your boss that you must impress, and so promising God that you won't do it again is hilarious 😂, you have no strength of your own. I realize that part of discipleship and being mature isn't just about knowing how not to fail but also knowing how to respond when I fail. If I ever find myself in a situation where I realize that I should pray more or study more then it means God isn't as far away as I think. Because it is God who works in me to will and to do of his good pleasure. The onus isn't on me to impress God. He is there not as a boss to be impressed but as a father, a helper and a teacher to help me get better. So I'll never allow despair rather, I'll keep on keeping on!
