    Hello, thank you for this wonderful demonstration, I'm about to carry out to a similar experiment and I'm grateful for this video.
    I wanted to ask tho, the mixing ratio prescribed the company for part 1 and 2 is 1 to 1.06 but you used 1:1. Does that not cause any issues at all?

    • @ecfibreglassuk
      @ecfibreglassuk  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Daniel, thank you for pointing this out its an old video using our old formula. Our current is 1 to 1.06, although small mixes would still work at 1:1 anything like a 25ltr mix would be best done exact to the 1 to 1.06. thanks again for drawing this to our attention I will make an updated video soon.

    • @danielaj3451
      @danielaj3451 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ecfibreglassuk thank you for the swift response. I'm currently experimenting with smaller samples so this is very useful tip thank you. Perhaps I could vary their densities by working between those 2 ratios.
      For the updated video, I hope we can see tips on the extraction process since it can get very sticky maybe a recommendation of adhesives that work well with it.
      I'm doing an impact test on the PUF and I understand from the datasheet that it needs to be restrained to make it uniform, will it be possible to showcase something like this as well?

    • @ecfibreglassuk
      @ecfibreglassuk  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@danielaj3451 yes having a mould closed off to restrain it will help make the foam more uniform. whichever foam you use try to follow the mix ratio advised exactly, obviously sometimes its hard to control the pour so you will be gram out here or there but that's nothing to worry about. we've never moulded with our foam it is often just used as a buoyancy chamber filler so I'm not sure what release agent can be used to remove it? for gluing i would assume some sort of rubberised contact adhesive or epoxy can be used?

    if I made up a clamp mould for a surfboard blank, would this foam using 2 A's and 2 B's be enough? and would it be dense enough once it is compressed in the mould, unable to expand any further, bearing in mind that any soft spots are not good for shaping and glassing surfboards.

    • @ecfibreglassuk
      @ecfibreglassuk  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      HI For a flexible foam or sponge you will need a different type of foam altogether. some foams are specifically designed to be flexible or spongy when cured. This one is purely designed to be rigid and reducing mixes of one part will only prevent it from curing. Kind regards.

    hello, ecfibreglassuk, I have a crack in my bathtub and as I noticed that there is an empty space under it (this could be reason of the crack) can I use this PU Foam liquid to fill the empty space and then I could fix the bathtub surface ?

    • @ecfibreglassuk
      @ecfibreglassuk  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, you'd be better off doing a repair from the under side of the bathtub and building it up on the "finish" side to sand back, for maximum strength.

    • @talatabo-quta843
      @talatabo-quta843 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      sorry to inform you that I'm not able to fix from the under since it already attached to ceramic, so if I will be able to remove it I would then replace it at all.
      so, will this fill it right and fix that issue?

    • @ecfibreglassuk
      @ecfibreglassuk  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I really couldn't say without having a look at the crack to see what's needed. This on it's own is great for gap filling quickly without adding too much bulk, but it's no good on it's own.
      You'd have to do your own digging to see if this would work the way you need it to.

    Can you add this expanding foam to old existing foam? I’ve had to re-new the cooling hoses within the hull of my Kawasaki JS550 Jet-ski. The hoses were encased in expanding foam, so I had to dig the old foam out first, to replace them. Can I just pour your 2-part foam (once mixed) directly onto old foam without problems? Thanks.

      Hi, it will only bond if the old foam is dry and free from other contaminates such as oils etc

    Can somebody please give me advice? I am molding a 3-D animal target for archery and wondering what foam to pour to create the same/similar foam that shop bought ones have? Any help would be much appreciated. I was thinking about using this same polyurethane expanding foam but it seems too rigid and would break after only a few shots.

      Hi, this is a closed cell foam. You'd have to do some testing to see if it would be suitable for use as insulation in a water tank, but it should be fine. Have a look at the data sheet for more info, the manufacturer should be able to give more info
