There have been times where Yugi had duels with unfair advantages, but because of the story and plot armor, Yugi had to cheat. I've watched anime where the protagonist loses most of the time and with practice and proper strategy he/she becomes a champion in the end. Yugi just wins through bullshit.
Stephen Harper Since the list would be way too long I'll tell you one time he has cheated. Yugi played against the rare Hunter with the exodia cards. He had 1 card face down on the field (Chain destruction) and the rare Hunter's turn was coming up next with 4 of the 5 exodia pieces already in his hand. The rare hunter proceeds to draw the final piece and declare victory not before Yugi activates the trap card Lightforce Sword FROM HIS HAND!, preventing the use of one the pieces for 3 turns. Shocked, the rare hunter puts exodia's head in defense mode for protection against a direct attack and then ends his turn not realizing that he made a fatal mistake. Yugi activates Chain destruction destroying exodia's head and all copies of it in his hand and deck (because he's a cheater too) then Yugi direct attacks for the win. Well, there you go.

Damn Yu-Gi-Oh has gotten so broken. It was never meant to be this way. Fucking Link, Pendulum, Xyz, Synchro summon are all overpowered af. I miss the old days not being able to summon 18 monsters in one turn, actually having to use polymerization to fusion summon, and not being K.O. in one turn.
Spider Man Synchros & Xyz's (aside from some cards) are actually pretty fair. Like Resonators were completely bad for 5-6 years before they got actual support. And XYZ's got bad I think when they started introducing certain archetypes and stuff like 101 just imo Edit: actually nvm, infernities & those ice barrier synchros were pretty stronk so see where ur coming from... and Teledad... & six sams with naturia...

I mean the game is fast paced though. In Magic, there are combo oriented decks, like me Goblin deck. In my opinion both games are made differently, but are good

The only decks that are similiar to this style in other games(magic for example) would be storm. You just go off in one turn and either lock out your opponent, or finish them within the turn. It's just awful play in my opinion and the fact that yugioh has this in more places than one just discourages me from playing. I think they tried toning it down a bit with link monsters but I'm unsure of how it worked. Also typically in magic combo decks tend to be much more fragile than some of these decks in Yugioh.

In Yu-gi-oh, Pendulum, XYZ, and Link have made Yugioh much more fun and simplictic.
