- Here’s the keyboard solo from the track ‘Could this be love’, Taken from Toto’s 1986 album ‘Fahrenheit’. This is a great melodic pop/rock track with a catchy chorus.
Very tasty keys solo using the usual Toto trademark heroic synth horns plus lots of little keyboard effects.
The solo itself is super easy to play,
it’s just the various keyboard hits and
effects that make it stand out from your
everyday off the shelf synth solo 😀
Asked another one of my amazing gtr playing friends Steve Murphy to play on this. Funnily enough we play in the same Toto tribute band 😀

Basic sounds :
*Big synth horns with lots of reverb!
*A very FM like aggressive synth for the hit at the beginning
*FM organ
*Analog Synth plucks
*A single mono synth sound with portamento switched on (for the sliding bit at the end)
*Basic analog sawtooth for the bending up chord at the end

if your keyboard has some sampling capability you could pull it off and assign a couple of keys to trigger the glissando and slide sounds. it's a pretty important part to the solo but you could get away without playing those parts i guess! just as long as you get the brass parts down.
Is the synth solo a preset sound? I have the montage, and would love to find that sound 😁
Hi the main horn sound was from the Equator 2 plug in from Roli....with lots of reverb 😀
