A cooking variation I rarely see used on your guys channels is steaking the salmon rather than the standard fillet. A favorite of mine is 1” to 1.5” steaks broiled in the oven on a broiler tray. Oil/butter the pan. Light lemon pepper and garlic salt on each side. Cook for 5 minutes a side, flip and 5 minutes on the other side….can’t be beat and super easy/quick method. 🎣
Got my first springer up on the Skagit in northern WA this last week. Caught it with a nightmare twitching jig. Cooked it on the Traeger with some alder pellets and rubbed it with Tom Douglas' Salmon Rub, it's sweet smoky and oh so good. Try it out!

I have never gotten one on a jig. Unsure if it will work for a 45ft deep 5mph current river. If your trying to smack bottom I garuntee a 1 ounce will catch walleye with it

Trying Newman's Own, salad dressing! With crushed mango or pineapple. What's nice about it is it doesn't take away the flavor of the salmon. But ya always gotta put the crushed fresh🌶️ 🫑 with The mango or pineapple, I cut butter in 1/4 slice put on foil then put My fellet's cut to hand stakes skin down. After the marinade in Newman's Own. Then add the other ingredients. Cover in foil as to poach it . Then bake, BBQ. Try it it won't disappoint! The bake time and degree's Are basically the same as you would BBQ, bake a salmon.

It must have been mentally excruciating seeing the ice cream truck go by without stopping. You have my condolences.
Mix brown sugar, garlic salt, and frozen orange juice concentrate and spoon on fish. Fry in butter skin side down in butter and spoon butter over top repeatedly while cooking. Butter melts and caramelizes topping.
I'd rather taste the real flavor of the fish but each to his own. Looked like a great day on the river.

We dont have cool fish like that here in Utah we have some kokenee but nothing like that definitely need to make a trip up to Oregon

Forgotten item of the day, wader boots!
I just caught a ten pound Atlantic salmon in Michigan from a big river in the south east side. Everyone usually tight lines there with a 2 pound weight in a three way with a lead and trolling spoons or body baits and a slider with a spoon or body bait. Well I switched it up using my snap jig rod. Seen the fish at ten am and started throwing everything at it in my tackle box went through about 35 or 40different lures from rapala husky jerks to soft baits to spoons and it kept chasing and not biting. I took a break knowing that fish wasn't leaving her spot. Threw the ol number two panther Martin on and nailed it. She fought hard for 5 minutes. Was a good thrill. And tasted pretty decent and was really stinky as well lol
How's the addicted boys or young men doing, i watch quite a few of your salmon fishing shows , you guys do a great job. My name is David i am from california and been back trolling for king salmon for over 40 years in the Sacramento & Feather rivers. Anyway why i commented is do you guys know were i can get wordens or Yakima bait Flatfish T-50 - T-55 i even use some T-60, I am having a hard time finding them, Yakima bait they are not in business at least i cant get to them, and i dont want Brads or Kwikfish, Flatfish is alot better plug plus there bigger, i backtroll alot of very slow and deep holes. alot of holes are 20 ft.plus, and i only use 1 oz weight that tells you how slow it is. if you guys happen to know who carrys flatfish let me know. GOOD FISHING ADDICTED BOYS , Thank you for your time. David------Northern California

I have questions please today I was fishing for king salmon I get one but It was pulled very strong 💪🏼 till I lost it 😭😭😭 but my questions is even my real was president 4000 6.2.1 and even my drag was locked but the fish was drug my line like crazy
even I tied the dragin the real till it was locked but still pull my lien so what I suppose to do in that case ?

I fish this river so much & I only ever get tiny fish. One day I hope to get one of the big bois! So cool watching your videos with near my area! Springs like to use there weight as an advantage against the fisherman I’ve once fought a spring for an hour cause it was 60lbs
it's better if you use some canned chipotles and the adobo sauce they come in. not too much if your heat tolerance is low. the hispanic food section in most grocery stores should have them.

It used to be stellar back in the day. This time of year you would often get a limit of 2 springers and 2 summer run. It’s a good day if you get only 1 fish there now.
@@TNQoutdoors we had 1/4 million coho estimated by the hatchery director, night fishing with a 12 fish daily limit, true story!
