I tried to play it when my friends harrassed me to telling me how fun it was and after a few hrs I just quit and uninstalled knowing there isn't even a small chance I can deal with that

Instead of seeing "PepeLaugh" or "OMEGALUL" "o7" "catJAM" you will actually SEE what the person is trying to express. Also 7tv allows animated emotes without cost, and some of them are really fucking cool, as opposed to twitch's native animated emotes 99% of which are behind a paywall. TL;DR you can use twitch functionally without 7tv, but chat will just be a bunch of "words" (i use the term loosely) you can't understand, because you can't see the picture they represent.
