@@tyresewallace9146 the idea was not to ride him with NLK, but NLK helps speeding up the soul filling process since he could sc on ride, and his 2nd ability add rear guards to soul
Also keep in mind if you use nlk his abilities can generate 4 or 5 depending on whether or not you can go from nlk into nlk and by your first grade 3 ride you'll already have 3 soul when ride gastille on your 2nd grade 3 turn you'll get 1 more soul so if you can soul charge 11 or 12 more soul before your 2nd grade 3 turn you'll have gastille at full power and to have 20 soul by that time would be no issue especially if you use nlk because we have grade 2's that can soulcharge 2 as well as grade 2's that can soulcharge 3 and cards variants killer tail and the new grade 1 a good example is you gain 3 soul off from the variants killer tail and the new grade 1 you get 5 off from using nlks skills you use any combination of demonted executioner and emblem master to get 6 soul you ride gastille and gain 1 soul you have 3 soul from your earlier turns before you rode your first grade 3 in total thats 18 soul sou from there all you have to do is soul charge 2 and gastille is at full power
Pretty unfortunate that gastille is so underwhelming in standard, when he got announced I was hoping to do a hybrid deck with scharhrot so maybe that will be better. Premium though he is good, such a shame that premium is so broken now that daimonas isn’t even an issue.
Gastille major problem in standard is that he is completly reliant on his Rearguards. You need both the soul-chargers for his condition (who don't swing for much) and he needs the big boys and girls to be an actuall issue for the opponent (and none of the major beatsticks in Di soulcharge to my knowledge) Looking at Gastilles Skill and how both games went... Could it be that he is DI answer to Grandgallop? I'm serious, both of their skills are set-up like counterparts and both have the same problems.
Honestly the gastille player couldve survived the first game but let the weakest attack hit for some reason when he had a heal to stop it. Shouldve let only thr big attack through
Unless you are able to agro soul charge early using gastielle as the main G3, its kinda lack luster, you might of opted going 2nd with yellow bolt and new guy to soul charge a little more. But he is an excellent finisher in Scharharot.
the main issue with gastile seems to be hand as to make full use you want to accelerate your soul charge which cost resources I recommend using cards like dimension creeper and combining it with the new g2 or the new pr werwolf ketzer to help increase the soul without having to commit a lot of hand
I really want to integrate gastille and it's support into my current scharharot deck. Was thinking replacing yellow bolt with new grade one and replace the soul charge 3 for one CB grade 2 with the new grade 2 buuut i am unsure and wanted some advice. Thx
@@Mizzinglink14 You could start with this decklist i came up with: -8 crits, 4 draw pgs, 4 heals, Grade 0 starter -4 succubus of pure love, 4 variants killertail, 4 of the new grade 1 -3 demonted executioner, 3 emblem master, 3 rhodia, 3 of the new grade 2 -4 scharhrot, 3 number of terror, 2 gastille and then shape it up according to your own preferences
I think gastille is really good but I think he synergises with nlk the best because nlk allows you to turbo the soul a lot more but I feel like gastille is definitely a 2 grade 3 turn play because if you go from nlk into gastille with nlk then your probably not going to make the best use of gastilles super powerful skills unless of course for some reason on your first grade 3 turn you achieve gastilles full power then in that situation if you can put your opponent to 5 damage you can go from nlk into gastille to use gastilles ability to shoot your opponent a face down damage to seal their fate also because of interaction with nlk in one turn you can get 2 protect 1 so you don't have to bet on drawing drive checking pgs that much and the draws you get off from gastille offsets nlks cost I recommend using gastille in every standard dark irregulars deck apart from maybe schahrot but the reason why I don't necessarily recommend him in schahrot is because he's already good enough by himself and gastille might just clog the deck also another reason why nlk is probably the best option to use with gastille is the extra attack as well as all the power nlk produces can put your opponent in a tough spot where your attacks will have less chance of failing due to damage triggers and your opponent could be put in a risky situation where if they don't throw away most if not all of their hand they could lose to auto win
by the way can someone please tell me why people still believe dimension creeper is still good firstly you have to have dimension creeper in your soul to use it's soul charge skill, secondly you have to pay 1 counter blast, and thirdly when you use the skill you put dimension creeper back into the deck and soul charge 2 so your net gain is only one soul so as the game stands now in my fair opinion because it is far to over costed now as compared to when standard first started and there wasn't much better choices dimension creepers only real use in my opinion is as a 13k booster and yes there is a combo with emblem master and dimension creeper but that would cost you as many as four counter blasts for a net gain of 6 soul and with the proper field setup you can easily generate more than double that with fewer counterblasts
DI isn’t very popular so they see “sc 3”,along with the fact that Creeper is a classic card, people put their two cents saying: “why not run D-Creeper” as if every DI main and their mom haven’t heard that one for their entire career
Yeah! Gastile in Standard sucks to stand on his own. His role is like Hope on Damp, a very good finisher, but he can't completely replace Hope on Damp bc He can't finish Meer deck or Protect decks. His skill really scream to be used with his Stride form in Premium tho.
If you build deck than of course Gastille with suck on standard. What Gastille lack is raw power, but there is a unit to compensate that. Plus using Hope on Damp on Gastille turn nearly guaranteed you are victory
@@kodokutamashi1569 I think if they want Gastile to be able to stand on his own, he should draw more than 1 to compensate the lack of gift. For raw power, I think it's better to have that in supports in the future. Most clan selection boss units have flavorful skill and potential but still lack something to be on par with current meta anyway.
I don't think so. DI has very good supports from its own clan. It's just many DI boss units, except NLK and Scharhrot, either do many thing but lack offensive power(like Dantarian and Brufas) or only become a very good finisher but lack anything else (like Gastile) It's funny how all of DI boss units except Dantarian are design to be very good in Premium tho.
Yeah... just as expected... Gastille is a piece of jelly on his own... probably will be better as a scharharot or NLK finisher
he won't work with no life king because his skill goes off at begining of battle face so riding him with death achor is useless better in sharot

So hyped for gastille
He honestly isn’t that good by himself
But possibly combined with Scharhrot there could be something there

why not use no life king, i think IM is still necessary
Gastille's effect works at the start of the battle phase so nlk wouldn't work well with it
Gastille needs no standard play at all this card is to premium for the record I love the old version but not many liked it much
Gastille is pretty bad in standard. Bushi just keeps giving my clans the worst support in clan selection D:
Just play premuim 4head
It's only bad because of the stuff they released before this. I think this would've been an amazing set before the powercreep.
It’s still a pretty good finisher for scharoth and the other cards are also great soulcharge support
