- HERE'S WHY This is the Best Trio in Volleyball History !!! The Japan men's national volleyball team (Japanese: 男子バレーボール日本代表) represents Japan in international volleyball competitions and friendly matches, governed by Japan Volleyball Association.
Their nickname is "RYUJIN NIPPON (龍神 NIPPON)", meaning "Japanese Dragon God" or "Dragon God of Japan" in Japanese.[1]
Japan won a bronze medal at the Tokyo 1964 Olympic Games, followed by silver at Mexico 1968 and a gold at Munich 1972. The years after this have been less successful. Japan missed three successive Olympic Games before returning at Beijing 2008, where they failed to win a match. Japan then failed to qualify for the London 2012 Olympic Games and also missed Rio 2016 after finishing seventh at the World Olympic Qualification Tournament in Tokyo.
Yuji Nishida (西田 有志, Nishida Yūji, born 30 January 2000) is a Japanese left-handed volleyball player. Currently Nishida plays for Panasonic Panthers at club level.
Nishida made his debut with JTEKT Stings at V.League on 6 January 2018 in a match against Osaka Blazers Sakai. His impressive debut at the young age of 17 soon earned him a position in JTEKT's Starting 6,[5] as well as Japan men's national volleyball team. Nishida led the national team to seventh place at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, its best result in 29 years.
Yūki Ishikawa (石川祐希, Ishikawa Yūki, born 11 December 1995) is a Japanese male professional volleyball player from Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture.
Ishikawa is the first volleyball player to have a wax figure in Japan.[1] Currently, his wax figure is displayed at Madame Tussauds Tokyo.[2]
Ishikawa was named "Best outside spiker" award at the FIVB World Cup (2015, 2019), FIVB Nations League (2023), Asian Championship (2017, 2019, 2021), as well as "Most valuable player" award at the Asian Championship (2017, 2023).
As of April 2021, Ishikawa is the captain of the Japan men's national volleyball team, and plays as an outside hitter. He currently plays in the Italian Volleyball League for Allianz Milano.
Ran Takahashi (髙橋 藍 or たかはしらん, Takahashi Ran, born 2 September 2001) is a Japanese male volleyball player and an Olympian. He plays as an Outside Hitter for Nippon Sport Science University's club,[1] Japan men's national volleyball team and Vero Volley Monza.

I think Sekita the setter plays a BIG role as well 😊so we must give credit to him as well .. an amazing playmaker 🙌
I can't agree with you more: Sekita's role is huge and he is often left out when we praise the Japanese team leaders like Yuki, Yuji and Ran! Without Sekita's clever setup, there will no effective Japanese attacks!
yeah..I mean the trio is great, skillwise they are so damn good.. but to be able to do that they need a great mind of a setter, so for that kudos to SEKITA, your a phenomenal playmaker👍👍🙋♂@@bbatjargal1549
Yes, very well said
Yes but this only the trio sekita ain’t in the trio that’s it he still has a big role yes but just not in trio
Sekita’s setting is under rated. Watch closely on each Japan’s attackers, they rarely adjust on their tempo and attempt. The ball gets delivered to their hitting range
Not only the best trio, it's the best team spirit I have ever seen. The setter, middle blockers, and libero are brilliant. They deserve to have qualified.😊
I keep commenting this but I just can’t get over it. The size of this team is just incredible. Compared to the rest of the world? They are pretty darn small. But their intellect, heart and athleticism makes them such an amazing team. Sekita has to be the smallest starting setter in the world right now. Yuki and ran is not very tall for OH’s. And let’s not get started on Nishida. That guy is the smallest OPP in history. Easily. He is barely 6’1. Just insanity. Love the fact that they are so small in stature yet are one of the most explosive and efficient teams in the world.
I am very happy that Nishida is back, and I hope to see more of the same in the future. Both Yuki and Ran were very active. I think these three contributed to the dynamism of the Japanese team. But of course it took Sekita, Yamamoto, Kentaro, Onodera, Yamauchi, and many others.
Three people were the catalyst, but the wins were necessary for the entire team, with no one missing. From the coaches, analysts, and medical team and the cheering fans, Japan was able to win because everyone was united.
Congratulations, Japan. What a team!!! ❤ Best wishes from Brazil!!!
It is hard to believe how great their effort to get a slot for Paris Olympics. I wish they can get a medal there, whatever that maybe.Good luck to Japan. A filipina fan here❤Arigato
the whole team members are superb but I really love Ran and Ishi... these two handsome boys are great in techniques and skills...bring home the medal guys.. love you
I am very happy that our monster, Yuji Nishida, is back!

Sekita😢
MIYAURA the best ❤
Who are they? Ran, Ishikawa and...?
Y HE TEACHER SHEKITA????????
Sure is a great trio, but the best of volleyball history ? Come on, it's not even close.
Name other trios
@@wyserenade6905zenits trio 2012-2017, Brazil 2000s. USA right now, Poland, France.
They ain’t even top 20 at this point. They have 1 medal, ever. Most of these others are averaging at least a medal a year.
nope
Miyaura should sub yuji for more important match.
Why?
LoL Yuji is more way better than miyaura
@@fadlii3306 lol no. He keeps getting blocked and has low attack efficiency, should be replaced immediately.
@@fadlii3306
どっちも同じくらい優れてます。間違いないです。
@@user-oq7ty5yr3mmiyaura defence is 0 only spike is good , yuji defence spike both v good so he is better better
If miyaura is better then why coach didn't give a chance to play in important match 😅
I think miyaura is better than nishida
He might be slightly inferior to Nishida in blocking.
Nah. How many medals outside Asia this trio got for Japan? 1 Bronze. There are dozens of better trios from Poland, Brazil or Italy. Dont make tittles like this. They are just annoying and false.
Can you name trios that you think are better?
@@barry2447 Too many to fit in this comment.
@@piotrpot9630 I watch vb for years and honestly can't think of another trio that works as well as a team and moves the whole team as well as Yuki, Yuji and Ran, currently.
@@piotrpot9630 claims dozens of better trios, conveniently can't name a single trio. stop talking so confidently out of your ass
@@marumysuguiyama8895 Ok, but good cooperation is nothing, if they can`t win any tournament outside Asia.
