I just happened to run across your video at a perfect time. I'm having an issue with the bars hitting my legs when I make tight slow turns. You mentioned your bike had 4-inch risers. I was wondering if you believe that would solve the issue. It would be a lot easier than shortening my legs 4 inches. I'm really hoping to keep the beach bar feeling that the stock bars have.
Did you try rotating the bars upward in the stock clamp? Obtaining accessories for the Yamaha cruisers is getting more difficult. You may have a problem actually finding a set of risers of any kind. They were installed on my bike when I bought it, so I cant shed any light on doing that project. Glad the video was helpful, hope you will consider subscribing.
They came on the bike when I bought it and yes they sound awesome. Its a shame that Yamaha abandoned their Star brand. They were great bikes and if they had kept them in production and continued improving them they would be selling like hotcakes with the mess Harley has become.
I have a 2002 Yamaha road star that needs fresh fuel, a a carburetor cleaning. Also need a new clutch kit which I’ve bought already. Just got a new battery and she’s got spark and the engine turns over. The wife and I had been saving up for a house, so the bike restoration had been put on hold for a couple years unfortunately. But now it’s time. I really miss riding her and can’t wait to get her back in the road.
@@ridingonabudget Yeah, like the Suzuki DR 650 Yamaha should've given the Road Star a good 30 years of production, the problem is Yamaha will have to compete with what Harley are making today which is a more complicated pile of crap.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It's always great to hear from fellow enthusiasts who have strong opinions about the bike world. Hope you will become a subscriber
@@ridingonabudget, I couldn't agree with you more about Yamaha not continuing the cruiser division. Everything from the V-Star to the Star models. Yamaha did their homework on those bikes. Just stay with the improving through evolving, such as the BMW R series, Moto Guzzi, Triumph Bonneville, etc...🏍️
