Pinjore Gardens are located in Pinjore town of Panchkula district in Haryana ( India). It Is also known as Yadavindra Gardens.
Established in the 17th century, the most remarkable feature of Pinjore Gardens is the fact that it was constructed in steps, at different levels. It houses different palaces like Rang Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Rani Mahal, Jal Mahal.
But when we visited Pinjore Gardens, water fountains, which are central to the scenic beauty of the place, were in fact not operating. There was a notice displayed at the entrance gate itself to this effect. Locals indicated it could be for preserving water. While this could not be confirmed, absence of water fountains does take away to some extent beauty of the place. But once the lights come up after sunset, even without water fountains the Pinjore Gardens is a real beauty. The multicoloured lighting system definitely gives a WOW effect to the place.
We spent quite some time in the Gardens, both during day time and then after sunset. After sunset it was a totally different place with its unique appeal. Walking from the top level of the Gardens to the lowest level and then back to top level was a totally exhilarating experience for us, though slightly tiring too. In any case, now we were near the closure time of the Pinjore Gardens and it was time to say, Bye Bye!
