I saw two of them when I was a child with a whole group of other kids (late 1970s), my parents were visiting friends who invited us for dinner to their home out in the sticks in Massachusetts... we all saw the same thing. Freaks me out to this day!
I swear i saw one too when i was a kid, like 2, 3 years old. It was late at night and I was awake on bed with my parents sleeping side by side. The shadow resembled like one of my uncles who was alive back then, but passed away some years back. Anyway, he wasn't living in the same house as us. But then the figure was so real. It seemed to look at us from the door for a few seconds before it sat down at the end of the bed. I wasn't scared, just confused, and then as i kept watching it, i fell asleep ( I think? . I don't remember much). Thankfully Nothing bad happened.
I used to see them too when I was younger. As well as my brother. I had got up one night to get a drink of water and see a large group of them walking around my living room.
Maybe it is because the Paranormal Conspiracy stuff is much more real than you may want to admit, Sleepy TV. That icy cold breath on the back of your neck when you are all alone in that deep, dark room at night... That is not the Tooth Fairy! lol
I was tormented by the shadow people most of my early life. Until I was about 17 I lived in an old house where I had a lot of paranormal experiences. Thankfully it stopped when we moved. I saw them any time of day in any room. They would stand over me while I tried to sleep. There was a tall one with bright eyes that would stand at the edge of my bed and stare with some smaller ones peaking out from behind things. It was awful.

There is a LOT we still don't know about the world, and a whole lot more we don't know about the universe and the afterlife. While the vast majority of these shadow people stories likely have logical explanations, I would not be a bit surprised if some of them don't.
Same here, I grew up in a house with a ton of paranormal activity. Even played with a spirt board and man oh man that increased the activity big time. They would run around upstairs, my dog would start barking at something coming downstairs that we couldn’t see and chase us out of the house. Have a ton of stories. It too all stopped when we moved. My brother and I always look back and wonder if the new people that live there have experiences like we did.
Saw the hat man wide awake with my cat on my stomach. My door was open and the hallway light was on when a dark shadow walked into my room. My cat jumped up fast and ran into the hallway. I kept calm and flipped the light on. There was something me and my cat saw that night
I saw two or three if them when I was in the hospital. I just stared at them for 20-30 minutes then they slowly disappeared. Not that scary or anything, just weird.

my friend has encountered these before and said that during the night, the shadow guy came at him in one swift motion and then he threw up on the floor right after.
@mr fantastic well I’ve seen a shadow creature. A spider. I thought it was a real spider. Even better for my sanity is I had a lamp on that illuminated the wall so I saw it perfectly. It was grainy like old film and like a tarantula in size. It fell to the ground under my bed but I checked and nothing was under there. So yea I KNOW they are real. Seeing it is just creepy. Like all I do now is wonder how it exists.
When I was very very little I remember there being a shadow in my closet and I saw it only once, and a couple years later while in 4th or 5th grade I was home alone after school and while walking to my room I stopped because the shadow on the wall seemed off, so I lifted my hand but it didn’t lift it back, so I booked it out of there. Was it my wild imagination or something more? Who knows. What I do know is that I felt that I was never alone in that house and didn’t want to enter alone
It almost doesn't matter whether it's a 'mundane' phenomenon with a rational explanation or it's 'supernatural beings'. It gives the same answer, and that's that it occurs. It's scary and causes a lot of distress and seems to be getting reported more and more often amongst people. We need to make sure we are looking after our mind and bodies.
True. Know that they can’t physically hurt us and if we can think clearly and tell them to go/ask god to banish them they will leave instantly. It’s like punching a bully in the face. We are more powerful than these beings. Way more powerful, we just don’t know it.
i dont bellieve such beings could be captured on camera, probably, from my experiance as a teen with acute insomnia i would see shadows in the corner of my eyes and an eerie presence of something watching me, i could never actually see the creatures properly no matter how much i tried, but in the end i kinda just let it do its thing and didnt care i didnt feel overtly threatened, though i nsaying that in that same sun room in that old 1914 house, i had the weirdest dream, so vivid, so real,was it a dream was it real, was i dreaming i was trying to get to sleep as i was when i went to bed to actually try to get to sleep and i feel something ominous lurking creeping behind me through the window with its long dark fingers, i could feel its presence i was in so much fear that i couldnt move, but i felt that i could if i really tried, slowly the long tendral like black fingers curled itself around me all so slowly, until it suddenly pulled me out of my bed through the window and thats when i woke up i think and everything looked the same except afew items were in slightly differant places, i had a look and nothing was their, window was even closed, i never experianced anything quiet like that ever since all thoes years ago, but the reminder still lurks in the back of my head, haunting me till the end of my life.@@Belugamale8738

Does it count as shadow people. When it's dark. I sometimes feel like I am seeing a shadow in a shape of a person in the edge of my vision barely. It could be imagination. I am skeptical. I always traust my gut feeling. Saved me many times.
I used to get sleep paralysis and I seen either a tall Smokey black man or 3 small black shadow men each time which would back away from me when I woke up and slowly fade away .. I was never scared I just simply observed... one time I called on Jesus and never seen them again
When i get sleep paralysis, i feel it coming right before it happens, but by then, i already can't move or open my eyes, so i never see them. But i can hear them...they make a scary whisper/hissing sound right in my ear. Terrifying.

When I was young, I had seen _Shadow People_ multiple times for a while. In daytime, nothing to cast a shadow where they were, normal lighting of sun and I was looking directly at them, not the corner of my eye. Never attacked me or indicated they would. I eventually stopped seeing them, but later in life (recent years) started seeing shadow cats. So far it seems to possibly be, that they are the ghost of 1 or more cat, but I have some block that prevents me seeing their colors, making them look like shadows. Plus multiple times I have felt what seemed to be a cat jumped or walked on the bed, but my cat I have was outdoors or another room at that moment. I have also had other kinds of paranormal experiences at different times through the decades.
I saw a shadow creature when I was younger. Story time: When I was around 5 or 7, I woke up one night and looked around my room. In front of my bathroom door, was standing a tall shadowy figure. I couldn’t make out any features, but it looked like it had pointed ears like a wolf. It was also moving. Not moving around my room, but it was shaking. It was trembling. I remember closing my eyes and looking again. It was still there. I was too scared to move, so I yelled to my parents. They came into my room and turned on the light. It was gone. To this day, I don’t know what it was, but it kind of resembled a wolf standing on its hind legs. Bonus story: I saw another shadow creature as a child too. Once again, I was probably either 5 or 7. I walked downstairs and saw a shadowy cat on top of my counter. (I didn’t own any cats.) It was creepy because it was walking in place. It was walking, but not going anywhere. I can’t remember what happened after that. It was spooky.
Idk if u can find my story time as well but when i saw a part of it, the part i saw when triangled shaped! I kept thinking like maybe its the collar of a vampire that i saw but its shadow was very low to the ground. And at first when i did see it thought it was my cats shadow and only the ear part of my cat as it was triangle in shape. I chased it and nothing was behind the doorway and found my cat in the other side of the apartment still half asleep! So maybe it was like a wolf's ear or a literal shadow cat! Wow. You helped me figure out what i most likely saw as it defintely wasnt humanoid in shape! This i saw only a few years ago. First and last time. But if demons r real God is real. And guess who's stronger?
I didnt fear the shadow being i saw. I chssed it down as soon as i spoted it from the aid of my 5 year old that initial was the one that heard it n it scared her then i look n see its shadow onnthe ground croutching behind the doorway n as soon as i spot it it recoils and i givr chase. I do not fear them. I threaten them boy!
No one has ever been harmed by a shadow person. Totally agree it's more interesting to try to understand them. I have seen them many times in my life. I don't get scared but at times it can become overwhelming and I just want them to let me have some space. They usually respect this also when I ask them to leave me alone for a while.
Although sleep paralysis may explain some of it, it doesn’t encapsulate the entirety of the phenomenon. . I have seen them while entirely awake and with 3 other witnesses at the same time, equally spooking everyone at the same time.
You know sometimes when you say something people think they should say yes and sometimes once they have also been told they also start thinking about it and then see it like hallucinations - Actually, I think that the shadow people could just be our imagination. I was scared of the paranormal until I was 9, some two years ago. It all starts when friends or relatives start telling us about ghosts and demons. This all must have started from our ancestors just trying to scare kids so they behave and soon the people started have feelings of something paranormal observing them. Since we all know this, we constantly fear ghosts and shadowy people, and hence start having hallucinations. Once we search it (google or any website), other people with having experience of similar things write it and we get it in our head that it is paranormal activity. Also, sometimes if we see a person at the night or even day, they sometimes appear black (in night under light) and we feel we are being watched. This is also completely normal as all of us have at some point of our lives heard ghostly stories. Many like Annabelle are famous and hence we all see similarities in the shadows. I do not have any other explanation for this. Who knows maybe it’s the paranormal haunting us or physics from different dimensions. 👻

When I was a child, I would constantly see a hooded shadow figure creep down the hallway almost every night! It was 7 ft tall with a hood and robe outline and a twitchy yet flowing movement. I never saw features but I could feel its presence. It gave off the sense of pure evil and seemed to enjoy terrifying me. I believe it fed on the fear as we eat food. It never touched me, but would always reach out towards my face like it was going to, but me lying in my bed would pull the covers over my head. Then after a few moments, I could feel that it was gone. When I pulled the covers back down off my face, I was correct and it had vanished. But, I knew it would be back. This continued almost every night at least once or twice per night for a few years. Once I became a preteen, it stopped coming to feed. I believe it was a demonic creature that feeds on the fear of innocent children. After growing out of my childhood innocence, it could no longer nourish itself. So it moved on to some other poor soul still in childhood. I have met a couple other people who seemed to experience the same thing when they were 11 years of age and younger. I would have them draw a picture the best they could of the being before we described it to one another, and when we showed our picture, it was an uncanny match!!! We knew we weren't dreaming at the time and we knew it was real!!!
@@Rqptor_omega - Well, it certainly was real to me. I saw it many multiple times every week for a few years. Sometimes even twice in a night. Plus it was more than just what I saw, it was how the room felt when it was there. I could wake up and know it was there before I even had the courage to look that direction. I felt that it hated me and enjoyed terrorizing me. I could even sometimes feel that it was super angry that it was unable to just tear me to pieces which it wanted to do but couldn't for some reason. I prayed a lot as a child so maybe I was protected? Who knows! But shadow people exist!
When I was 14 I was touched by a shadow person. It left a feeling in my soul of pure sorrow, hate, and darkness when it touched my shoulder. I have and will never feel as scared or as many bad feelings in one moment ever again. I'm also sure I had not fallen asleep before it came into the room that night.

I've experienced sleep paralysis and I want to share it. I remember it like it happened yesterday. A couple weeks ago, maybe more. I was sound asleep and then I randomly woke up. It was around 4am, I couldn't see that well for one I wear glasses and two, my eyes weren't adjusted to the dark. But while my eyes were adjusting, I felt a presence in my room, a bad feeling came over me and then I felt something on my chest. When my eyes finally adjusted, I look up right side of my bed, what I seen scared me. And I'm a hard guy to scare. I saw a tall pure pitch black figure with dark glowing red eyes, it was darker than my room. I seen it had it's arms down in front of it and I noticed it had it's hands on my chest. I couldn't move and I hard a hard time breathing. But here's the thing, I could speak, I remember telling it to leave me alone but I couldn't say one name.... That name was Jesus. Everytime I tried to say His Name, the figure pushed down harder on my chest and I heard it growling. Everytime I tried to call on Jesus, the figure would push down harder, everytime I would open my mouth to say His Name, the pain in my chest grew, the harder it became to breathe. I swear I was on the verge of passing out... But then out of nowhere, my Bible for some reason fell like it was pushed down and the figure let go like it was startled, the thing was looking where my Bible fell. Soon as it looked away, I yelled as loud as I possibly could "JESUS!". That dark figure screamed and left, I heard it running, it was running fast. I remember a peace coming over me, I felt safe, secured, and loved. And I heard a voice say "You're safe now, rest my son". When I heard that voice, I immediately knew it was God. Right before I feel back asleep, I seen 3 men in my room. They was tall, had swords in their hands and shields in another, armor and they was bright. One stood at my door to my room and the other two stood at my window. When I looked right, another one appeared but had a different appearance. I seen a white robe, a red sash, a black belt I guess around the waste but I couldn't see the face, the face was so bright. I knew who it was, it was Jesus. I remember Him telling me that everything is alright and that He will protect me. Then I fell asleep with Him standing beside me and angels guarding my room. I will never forget that night.

When I was a kid (somewhere around 8 to 10) I believe I encountered a shadow person while I was walking to school. It had just snowed the night before and the sun was out. I was walking and minding my own business like I always did when this black figure appeared about 5 feet infront of me and was walking towards me. I was not able to see a face or any details other than it being humanoid and walking on 2 legs. At the time there was no wind and all I could hear was my footsteps in the snow. I had a feeling something was off and when it walked by me I felt a slight breeze, I turned around about 2 seconds later and it was gone. I never saw one again after that but it is definitely something I will never forget.
Interesting about the breeze, there's another comment on here where when the shadow left/moved there was a seemingly unexplainable breeze in a house with no air flow. Interesting similarity
My shadow person story only happened once when I was sixteen. I awoke at daylight to see a shadow man standing by my bed. It was like looking at your shadow on a wall in bright sunlight only It was grey and not black, no features, no eyes were visible. I wasn’t stressed out, or on drugs, or sleep deprived, etc.
I read a paper in college once that talked about how the brain can see faces out of things that aren’t faces. Kinda of like how a smiley face (: such as this one isn’t a face but we can easily see it as one. This has been observed to get worse when people are scared or stressed as a sort of self defense. So that you can spot potential danger quicker. All that combined with the fact some people are simply scared or apprehensive about the dark makes me pretty sure this is just simply your mind seeing “faces” out of things that aren’t really faces.
Go to Zak Bagan's Haunted Museum in Vegas. Do everything that is not usually in the tour like peggy the doll, the dybbuk box etc. If you don't return from that thinking otherwise about ghost or spirits, then it'll make me look like an idiot. But if not, you will have a better perspective in life and a little more open minded. A non believer friend of mine went to that museum and came back becoming more open minded with ghosts and stuff.
Hahaha weak!! I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night, completely paralyzed, and seeing hallucinations much, much worse than just shadow people...and I slept through it all! Because I'm a stubborn man who absolutely, refuses to let any ghosts get a single ounce of fear or horror out of me!! (If these hallucinations of mine are actual ghosts, that is.)
I saw a shadow person last night, I was laying in bed with my arms by my side and it was really dark in my room. I saw a skinny figure over 7 feet tall near the hallway and I tried to yell/raise my arms but I couldn't. It made a noise and quickly came to my side of the bed in front of my face, I immediately woke up and it was lighter in my room because of the moonlight outside. My arms were by my side like in this encounter. I told my wife in the morning what happened and she told me about shadow people. Never heard about any of this until today.
Here’s my experience with one from about 18 years ago. When I was around 8 or 9 I was awoken in the middle of the night by something shaking me and when I opened my eyes I saw something standing in my doorway at the end of my bed, I assumed it was my sister so I asked what she wanted and it responded by saying “happy”, which I don’t know if it was a question or statement, creepy either way. So after a few seconds I sat up and crawled to the foot of my bed to push what I believed was my sister but I ended up going through whatever it was and it slowly evaporated with my head literally inside of this dark mist and that was it, it was gone. It had to of been at least 8 feet tall and had no real shape or features, it just looked like a person with a black sheet draped over them. For the next 2 years I slept facing my wall out of fear of seeing it again.
I always felt safer sleeping facing the wall because I felt like if I faced the other way I would end up seeing something I didn't want to. I don't know what age I started to do it but I haven't stopped doing it. 😅
People can believe what they want, but I can attest to seeing one at least once, and had two friends with me who saw and felt the exact same thing. It was 2017 in September and we were taking an evening walk together at a park. Two of us felt like we were being watched, the third didn't feel anything for a while. When he did (I should add that he doesn't believe in the supernatural) we started booking it to where my friend's car was parked down the block, because we all felt an inexplicable feeling of fright and that we were being watched. We finally turned around when we were across the street from her car, and about 50 or so feet away and from the other side of a fence, we all saw the same thing: A tall, very tall figure, at least 6 and a half feet tall. It was like a shadow, we all concluded that it was masculine, and it had very long, dark hair, and bright red eyes which either glowed or reflected the dim street lamp. Needless to say, we ran the rest of the way to the car, started it, and drove off. Looking back as we drove, whatever it was now stood in the middle of the road, but it still seemed encased in shadow despite being right near the street lamp. We had all felt this unmistakable sort of fear and danger, and we didn't go back to that park again.

I remember my first real experience with a shadow person. It happened when i was playing games on my couch in my bedroom. For context my door is to the far right of my room and my tv is to the left of the door. My couch is opposite of the tv facing both. Although all i need to do is just turn slightly to the right i can see the entrance but majority of the time your just focused on the tv. No reason to watch the door or anything. Basically one day i was playing games and for some reason out of the corner of my eye i felt a presence. Like the feeling of being watched and it gave me goosebumps so i quickly glanced to the right to just see if the cat or something was there and for a brief second i saw a massive black figure standing there. Then i heard a massive gush of wind and nothing. Me i jumped when i saw it and flew off my couch. Freaking out i had no idea so slowly approached my door to see what was going on. At first i thought oh mabey my mind is playing tricks on me as i was focused on my game. Although what took me off was the flag attached to my door was moving like wind caused it move. So i right away went to clear the house incase it was somebody but all the doors were locked and it was just me. The cat was even sleeping upstairs on the couch. To this day i dont know exactly what happened but i know 100% that flag had no reason to be moving as no windows were open and no ac vent was near it. Even my couch is over 10ft away so me getting up would have made no impact.
I was playing Xbox alone in my house and the two small dogs on the bed with me started to bark towards the door. I looked over and a static/shade like silhouette was peering at us from the door to the left. All I seen was the upper torso as if it was leaning into the doorway. I flipped and grabbed the firdt weaponish item I could find within seconds (deer antlers) to defend myself. Next thing ya know it's gone. I've never ever seen a ghost or thing like that ever before or after.
When I was younger (around 13) I was sleeping over my friends house. She had always told me she thought it was haunted. We were watching a film in her bedroom and the door was open so you could see into the hallway. The hallway lights were on and a big shadow figure slowly went across the hallway. It was about 7ft tall so as high as the ceiling. I was so scared but I didn't say anything to her as I didn't want to freak her out. I had another experience when I was playing The Sims at hers and something breathed right into my left ear and her dog started to growl at bark at me. I used to always get weird vibes in that house.
I swear every time I’m watching this show I get infographics fever, I never stop and all of a sudden there’s another 20 videos in my watch later that I’ll never get around to watching
I don't believe in the paranormal/supernatural but I have had an experience with these "shadow people" and I would have dismissed it as a dream if my sister had not been there and seen it too. Freakiest thing I ever experienced.
me and my sisters saw these shadow people all the time I think our house was haunted with them we saw them so much we weren't even scared.we told each other every encounter we had. Most the ones i saw seem to be children like us at the time when we moved from that house i never saw them again
I haven't seen one in years but it's good to know I'm not the only one. I'm not against science but I don't think there are rational explanations for all of my shadow people experiences, but maybe some.
It's strange that this phenomenon along with sleep paralysis and even DMT experiences are all the same when it comes to different people's experiences. There's something to that
They are a lower Astral Realm Love/4th Dimension entity. We travel there when we dream. Only the lower astral realm is negative, every other dimension is positive and loving. 3-D earth is the other negative place in our lives. Sleep paralysis we are stuck there and DMT , well who knows what dimension we reach while doing that.

When I was a little kid I used to see shadow people in my childhood home. Me and my sisters used to share a room and all 3 of us would see them. We would always check with each other to see where they were standing in the room. We always saw 3 of them in usually they were at the foot of the bed, by the closet or the door. I lived in that house until I was 8 after we moved I didn't see them anymore until I stayed at a hospital for a week when I was 9 because I was having issues with my heart and I saw a shadow person again. He was always in the corner of the hospital room I was in. I thought I was tripping because i was alone in the room so I couldn't check with anyone to see if they saw what I saw. Until a nurse walked in to do vitals on my like at 2 am and screamed because saw it in the corner and asked me if I saw it.
Guess I'll share my experience. When I was about 8 or 9 I was at a church camp and encountered them. I woke up from my bunk bed and saw two figures in the darkness. I tried to see if it was any of the other kids but it wasn't. I proceeded to stand there and watch them for probably an hour until an adult came.
I was the first one in my family to see a tall bald shadow man walk rapidly from my bathroom to kid’s room. Usually I am horrified with the thought of anything paranormal but this shadow man gave me an overwhelming sense of peace… strangest of all is that about 20min later I get a call saying my dad had passed away about 15min before… we were expecting him to go due to his pancreatic cancer… and I did get to spend 3 1/2months with him but one of the last things he said to me was that he wished he would have got to meet my 2 youngest kids… so when I saw this shadow figure walking from the bathroom to kids room then got the phone call saying he had passed away I just figured it was my dad coming to meet the kids before he could move on so I told nobody and thought it was a 1 time event but when all of my kids at one point or another told me they saw the same shadow person walking the same path it really made me question if it was my dad after all especially because my youngest 3 at the time came to me and asked “ Mommy who is the man in my closet” that freaked me out and made me immediately go check the closet petrified that I would most likely find an actual human being…. But I found no one and my son said he was gone even though he had no where to go especially being in a second story… I asked my 3 year old to describe exactly what he saw and he said “ it was a man dressed in all black with a black hooded sweatshirt pulled over his head. But he didn’t have a face it was completely black and the man walked from the bathroom to my room then walked into my closet and just stood there watching me” I asked how he knew he was watching him if he said he had no face he said “he had a face I just couldn’t see it it was just all black” after that I decided to tell my husband everything from the beginning and my husband has never believed in anything paranormal it was even more crazy that he confessed that he too had seen this shadow man walking from the bathroom to the kid’s room but decided not to say anything to anyone because he didn’t want to freak us out… so now I am not sure what to think because although he gives me a feeling of peace he scares everyone else in my family… and all I read and hear about shadow people is that they are not very nice or peaceful…

We had a 7ft shadow figure that I saw standing at the end of my bed when I was young, they make you feel upset. The neighbours told us a depressed old man with no friends or family lived there for years before us.
Not in my most memorable experience. I woke up to see a shadow man standing in the doorway, I was not paralyzed. It started walking towards me and I fricking BOLTED through it and to my parents out in the loungeroom. I could see it clearly, light was coming in from the hallway
@@auyemra1331 I agree. But the best you can do is ignore them until they lose interest in you since they seem to pop into your view if you caught their attention or they want something from you. If they keep bugging you then just stay comfy in your house, and if things get worse like they physically hurt you then you can call an expert or ask what the shadow people want. But it's up to you if you wanna give them what they want.

I was in the back bedroom of an older house when I was 23. The tv was next to the door to the room, and it was still around 6pm, plenty of daylight left. All the lights in the room and backroom were on. I was watching a documentary, when suddenly something perked around the corner. It was small, about 3ft tall. Pure blackness. But it had shape... it peaked around the corner, darted back, then slowly peaked around the corner again. I rubbed my eyes in disbelief, shaking my head. It was still there, looking at me. After about 5 seconds more, it just disappeared. The most utterly terrifying event of my life. You would have to experience something like that to believe it, and it's something that haunts me to this day. They're real, and whatever it was, I felt like it was playing with me. It wanted me to see it. And I know it knew I was afraid, like it was amused.
Oof, I remember hallucinating these shadow people during periods of sleeping poorly and enduring stress from varied sources. I'm glad I've not experienced a drowsy hallucination of the shadow people for a long time, as it's quite scary. Part of my brain knows the hallucination isn't real, but it still causes me a fright for the first few moments before the hallucination fades.
Last night, I was watching youtube videos, my room door was open just so slightly, I closed my light inside my room(but outside the room there is also a hallway light) I was watching a Hermitcraft video, when the video is almost done, I started getting chills, so I put on my blanket, then at that very moment I saw a shadowy like person running through the hallway, I looked at the hallway and there's no one there, my whole family was sleeping at that time(2:43)so I think that I was just tired, so I searched the whole hallway (to my room and to the other room) there's no one there, strangely enough I didn't heard any running sounds(our floor is noisy when someone's running through the hallway)when I got back to my room I saw the thing again so i tried turning on the light, It was just an electric fan, so I just tried falling asleep. Then the morning came, I told them about last night, strangely they thought it was me running.
Saw one outlined against a lit fire place. Like someone standing and watching the fire. It turned around as I had entered the room without speaking and we just stared at each other for a moment. Then it just disappeared, no movement. Just gone. I’ll never forget it. No bad vibes or anything, it was just like I interrupted a quiet reflection session I wasn’t suppose to see
I've actually experienced this, I keep seeing these figures at the corner of the room, I always feel a cold presence at my left but my AC is at the right, I knew something was wrong. Then there was it, it ran towards me revealing it's red glowing eyes, sharp teeth and revealing skeleton, I only have a few miliseconds to look and it never happened again since.
It's crazy because I remember seeing the hat man when I was younger but he had came up the stairs where the lights were and I was in the dark, all i remember was him looking at me then when i kept asking him who he was he just put his hands to his face and shushed me. After he did that I cried out to my mom and he walked to the bathroom, after waiting for some time I got up and to go check on what he was doing but it turns out he was gone. I was so scared and i remember it to this day.
Other people might have different experiences but I encountered something similar twice when I kid. Once when I was playing in a playground and I felt my cousin walking behind me so I looked back and it was a middle aged man, I can't work out the face tho, and idk if it's my memory but I felt something cold on my shoulders at that time, maybe it's the hand. The second one was a few days or weeks when I was in my phone, I saw it but it looks like it has no hair (idk about the last time) so I jumped and ran into the living room, I never told anyone else. I kept it to myself cause I think no one would believe. Note that both disappeared when I blinked a few times. Sorry about the inconsistencies, my memory is not the best out there.
I had my first experience of this happen to me a month or two ago and wish I didn't. That night I had been drinking wine and was just having a good time, nothing crazy happened till I passed out. In the dream, it didn't even feel like I was dreaming, just felt like I woke up in the dead of night, but my body wasn't moving like it normally does, felt like I was moving through water. I looked over to my wife's side of the bed and I saw this really tall and unusually skinny shadowy vapor humanoid figure with flashlights for eyes was hunched down examining my wife's feet and then my heart started beating extremely fast and somehow the thing knew I was watching it and turned to stare at me, and as it did I saw another one that was really tall standing at the end of my side of the bed, then I started saying "God make it stop" over and over till I woke up in a much more well lit room with nothing happening. I've heard these stories on and off over the years but didn't ever experience this till recently and I certainly didn't have them on my mind during the time this happened, easily one of scariest things I've had happen to me.
I've seen shadow people ever since I was little. My therapist tells me I either have psychosis from how depressed I am, or I have oncoming schizophrenia. They don't make me feel scared (except 1 instance I had) but I do always feel very curious. I wish there was a definitive answer for what they exactly they are & what their presence means.
They are drawn to negative emotion. Prove to your self what they are. If you see one, tell it directly: "In the name of Jesus, go away." Once they vanish you will know the truth. My 6 year old kid made one go away this way.

I was scared of the paranormal until I was 9, some two years ago. It all starts when friends or relatives start telling us about ghosts and demons. This all must have started from our ancestors just trying to scare kids so they behave and soon the people started have feelings of something paranormal observing them. Since we all know this, we constantly fear ghosts and shadowy people, and hence start having hallucinations. Once we search it (google or any website), other people with having experience of similar things write it and we get it in our head that it is paranormal activity. Also, sometimes if we see a person at the night or even day, they sometimes appear black (in night under light) and we feel we are being watched. This is also completely normal as all of us have at some point of our lives heard ghostly stories. Many like Annabelle are famous and hence we all see similarities in the shadows. I do not have any other explanation for this. Who knows maybe it’s the paranormal haunting us or physics from different dimensions. 👻

I truly believe it's something supernatural. I had seen the Hat Man (or as I called him 'The Man in Black') as a child at the house where I grew up. My siblings and my mom did too, and we all saw him separately until we all talked about it one day. We always saw him in the same places, usually either the upstairs or downstairs hallways. Same description, a guy in all black wearing a black hat, etc. I'm 31 now, and I haven't seen any shadow people or hat men or anything in any of the places I've lived since moving out of my mom's. Meanwhile when I was about 20, I took a friend to my mom's without telling her about the house basically being haunted, and she saw the hat man. She thought it was my brother, but he was outside, and she got really freaked out. I believe it's supernatural because it was only when we were awake and only at that house. None of my siblings have spotted him since they moved out either.
I've seen them a few times in my life last time back was back in college, I thought it was all in my mind and never told anyone for fear of been ridiculed or labeled crazy. What intrigues me is that many people have seen them and further more that many of us have seen the man with a hat (once I saw shadow dog). In my experience they didn't have eyes and seemed to just be walking by minding their own business

I saw one as a kid. For 2 years (ages 3-5) I lived in Georgia in a home in Athens. It was a 2 story house, and my room was directly across from the top of the stairs on the top floor, maybe 25-35 feet away. At night I would go to my room, waiting on promises from my mother that she would come and snuggle with me. My bed was positioned so I could see out the door, and would watch the stairs intently, waiting. For reference, to the right of my room was a computer desk, to the left was a bathroom, and my brothers room was just to the right of the top of the stairs. Every night I would see a shadow coming up the stairs, and be hopeful it was my mom. But as it rounded the corner I could not see a person to whom the shadow belonged. It was approximately 6 foot, maybe 5'10", and every night it would go into the restroom and I wouldn't see it again after that until the next night.
A few years ago for 5 months straight, every night I would wake up at 3 AM and see the hat man in the corner of my room looking at me. I would stare back at him for maybe 15 minutes before feeling extremely tired and passing out again. After those 5 months I still saw him but instead of being in the corner of my room he was right next to my bed looking down at me. After about of month of that he randomly stopped appearing and I haven't seen him since. For most of it I thought is was sleep paralysis because I never tried to move. But after a few months I got used to it and when I saw him I would move into a more comfortable position, so I knew I wasn't paralyzed. I'm not sure what these things are and I kind of wish I had tried to talk to him.

They are real. I always find it amusing when people who have never seen them pretend to explain them away. Don’t know if it makes them feel better or if they just like to feel smart, but I’m embarrassed for them. I get it though. I used to be one of them. Living in ignorance while pretending to live in the light of science is extremely common these days.

Here’s a story I was sleeping because I had school the next day. I woke up randomly at 2 AM having a strange feeling to look at my door. So I did, and I saw a shadow figure about 7ft tall. I could talk so not sleep paralysis. I said “dad?” It didn’t move, I hid behind the top bunk safety wall (safety wall is for no falling off when sleeping) Then after a few minutes I looked at the door, it was still there. I hid under the blankets, after 1 minute. I looked back, it was gone. I ran so fast I couldn’t see anything but a blur. I got to my parents room and got under the blankets. Then the strangest thing happened, I felt a hand grab my foot I pulled my foot up and that’s where it ended. After that day, I never forgot. I asked my dad, he said “I think it was a demon presence” Edit: I asked other people they have seen it too and could move and speak. Just a different setting.

Yeah I've only seen them a few times.They just seemed to have observed me. The one that stood out was when I took a walk at night, wide awake, I noticed a dark figure walking towards me and we walked passed each other, we both looked at each other and it did not have a face so I immediately looked back and it vanished. On my way back from my walk it was there to the entrance of the complex. I ran towards it, it ran and I couldn't see it. That's when I reconfigured the situation. I was like wtf just happened. People that haven't seen them have no idea.
I saw mine at around 12/1pm during the daytime. My sister and I were in two different room but could both see our sliding back door from where we were standing which was open a bit because it was a nice day out. We had these heavy drapes and it was behind them just staring at my while I cut veggies. I looked at it for only a second and it quickly realized I saw it and swooped out the door. My sister came into the kitchen with a shocked look on her face and I’m sure my was the same. I asked if she had seen what I saw and she said yes. It definitely was human but it also wasn’t necessarily ghost like. Tall black capes figure with either a hood or a hat on. Sorry if my English is bad When I was a kid I planned on staying up all night, something I would regret years later, I sat in my parents bed and waited until they were asleep, I stood there for about 50 minutes until the door starts to open (I was like 4 at the time), a shadow-like person enters the room and stares at me, I start to stare too since I had no idea of what to do, I looked for my parents but they were all in the same bed as me and there was no one else in my house. Some minutes later the shadow person puts the finger over its mouth (like if it wanted me to be quiet) and lurks away... To this day no one believes my story but I can swear I saw someone that night, it frightens me every day
My bff said she was hearing voices in her head, I thought she was crazy and decided to play along but then one day I was sitting outside, and I saw the shadow person and the next day I told her and she asked me to explain what it looked like and then she said that a couple years ago she saw one, but she never thought anything of it until now and for a while I refused to go outside when it was dark. I swear i saw one too when i was a kid, like 2, 3 years old. It was late at night and I was awake on bed with my parents sleeping side by side. The shadow resembled like one of my uncles who was alive back then, but passed away some years back. Anyway, he wasn't living in the same house as us. But then the figure was so real. It seemed to look at us from the door for a few seconds before it sat down at the end of the bed. I wasn't scared, just confused, and then as i kept watching it, i fell asleep ( I think? . I don't remember much). Thankfully Nothing bad happened.

I was tormented by the shadow people most of my early life. Until I was about 17 I lived in an old house where I had a lot of paranormal experiences. Thankfully it stopped when we moved. I saw them any time of day in any room. They would stand over me while I tried to sleep. There was a tall one with bright eyes that would stand at the edge of my bed and stare with some smaller ones peaking out from behind things. It was awful.

There is a LOT we still don't know about the world, and a whole lot more we don't know about the universe and the afterlife. While the vast majority of these shadow people stories likely have logical explanations, I would not be a bit surprised if some of them don't.
Same here, I grew up in a house with a ton of paranormal activity. Even played with a spirt board and man oh man that increased the activity big time. They would run around upstairs, my dog would start barking at something coming downstairs that we couldn’t see and chase us out of the house. Have a ton of stories. It too all stopped when we moved. My brother and I always look back and wonder if the new people that live there have experiences like we did.

Saw the hat man wide awake with my cat on my stomach. My door was open and the hallway light was on when a dark shadow walked into my room. My cat jumped up fast and ran into the hallway. I kept calm and flipped the light on. There was something me and my cat saw that night

@mr fantastic well I’ve seen a shadow creature. A spider. I thought it was a real spider. Even better for my sanity is I had a lamp on that illuminated the wall so I saw it perfectly. It was grainy like old film and like a tarantula in size. It fell to the ground under my bed but I checked and nothing was under there.

It almost doesn't matter whether it's a 'mundane' phenomenon with a rational explanation or it's 'supernatural beings'. It gives the same answer, and that's that it occurs.
It's scary and causes a lot of distress and seems to be getting reported more and more often amongst people. We need to make sure we are looking after our mind and bodies.

i dont bellieve such beings could be captured on camera, probably, from my experiance as a teen with acute insomnia i would see shadows in the corner of my eyes and an eerie presence of something watching me, i could never actually see the creatures properly no matter how much i tried, but in the end i kinda just let it do its thing and didnt care i didnt feel overtly threatened, though i nsaying that in that same sun room in that old 1914 house, i had the weirdest dream, so vivid, so real,was it a dream was it real, was i dreaming i was trying to get to sleep as i was when i went to bed to actually try to get to sleep and i feel something ominous lurking creeping behind me through the window with its long dark fingers, i could feel its presence i was in so much fear that i couldnt move, but i felt that i could if i really tried, slowly the long tendral like black fingers curled itself around me all so slowly, until it suddenly pulled me out of my bed through the window and thats when i woke up i think and everything looked the same except afew items were in slightly differant places, i had a look and nothing was their, window was even closed, i never experianced anything quiet like that ever since all thoes years ago, but the reminder still lurks in the back of my head, haunting me till the end of my life.@@Belugamale8738

When I was young, I had seen _Shadow People_ multiple times for a while. In daytime, nothing to cast a shadow where they were, normal lighting of sun and I was looking directly at them, not the corner of my eye. Never attacked me or indicated they would. I eventually stopped seeing them, but later in life (recent years) started seeing shadow cats. So far it seems to possibly be, that they are the ghost of 1 or more cat, but I have some block that prevents me seeing their colors, making them look like shadows. Plus multiple times I have felt what seemed to be a cat jumped or walked on the bed, but my cat I have was outdoors or another room at that moment. I have also had other kinds of paranormal experiences at different times through the decades.

Story time: When I was around 5 or 7, I woke up one night and looked around my room. In front of my bathroom door, was standing a tall shadowy figure. I couldn’t make out any features, but it looked like it had pointed ears like a wolf. It was also moving. Not moving around my room, but it was shaking. It was trembling. I remember closing my eyes and looking again. It was still there. I was too scared to move, so I yelled to my parents. They came into my room and turned on the light. It was gone. To this day, I don’t know what it was, but it kind of resembled a wolf standing on its hind legs.
Bonus story: I saw another shadow creature as a child too. Once again, I was probably either 5 or 7. I walked downstairs and saw a shadowy cat on top of my counter. (I didn’t own any cats.) It was creepy because it was walking in place. It was walking, but not going anywhere. I can’t remember what happened after that. It was spooky.
Idk if u can find my story time as well but when i saw a part of it, the part i saw when triangled shaped! I kept thinking like maybe its the collar of a vampire that i saw but its shadow was very low to the ground. And at first when i did see it thought it was my cats shadow and only the ear part of my cat as it was triangle in shape. I chased it and nothing was behind the doorway and found my cat in the other side of the apartment still half asleep! So maybe it was like a wolf's ear or a literal shadow cat! Wow. You helped me figure out what i most likely saw as it defintely wasnt humanoid in shape! This i saw only a few years ago. First and last time. But if demons r real God is real. I didnt fear the shadow being i saw. I chssed it down as soon as i spoted it from the aid of my 5 year old that initial was the one that heard it n it scared her then i look n see its shadow onnthe ground croutching behind the doorway n as soon as i spot it it recoils and i givr chase. No one has ever been harmed by a shadow person. Totally agree it's more interesting to try to understand them. I have seen them many times in my life. I don't get scared but at times it can become overwhelming and I just want them to let me have some space. They usually respect this also when I ask them to leave me alone for a while.

Although sleep paralysis may explain some of it, it doesn’t encapsulate the entirety of the phenomenon. . I have seen them while entirely awake and with 3 other witnesses at the same time, equally spooking everyone at the same time.
Same here. There were 7 other people who all saw it. None of us were drunk or doing drugs. Just smoking cigarettes.

Actually, I think that the shadow people could just be our imagination. I was scared of the paranormal until I was 9, some two years ago. It all starts when friends or relatives start telling us about ghosts and demons. This all must have started from our ancestors just trying to scare kids so they behave and soon the people started have feelings of something paranormal observing them. Since we all know this, we constantly fear ghosts and shadowy people, and hence start having hallucinations. Once we search it (google or any website), other people with having experience of similar things write it and we get it in our head that it is paranormal activity. Also, sometimes if we see a person at the night or even day, they sometimes appear black (in night under light) and we feel we are being watched. This is also completely normal as all of us have at some point of our lives heard ghostly stories. Many like Annabelle are famous and hence we all see similarities in the shadows. I do not have any other explanation for this. Who knows maybe it’s the paranormal haunting us or physics from different dimensions. 👻

When I was a child, I would constantly see a hooded shadow figure creep down the hallway almost every night! It was 7 ft tall with a hood and robe outline and a twitchy yet flowing movement. I never saw features but I could feel its presence. It gave off the sense of pure evil and seemed to enjoy terrifying me. I believe it fed on the fear as we eat food. It never touched me, but would always reach out towards my face like it was going to, but me lying in my bed would pull the covers over my head. Then after a few moments, I could feel that it was gone. When I pulled the covers back down off my face, I was correct and it had vanished. But, I knew it would be back. This continued almost every night at least once or twice per night for a few years.
Once I became a preteen, it stopped coming to feed.
I believe it was a demonic creature that feeds on the fear of innocent children. After growing out of my childhood innocence, it could no longer nourish itself. So it moved on to some other poor soul still in childhood.
I have met a couple other people who seemed to experience the same thing when they were 11 years of age and younger. I would have them draw a picture the best they could of the being before we described it to one another, and when we showed our picture, it was an uncanny match!!! We knew we weren't dreaming at the time and we knew it was real!!!

@@Rqptor_omega - Well, it certainly was real to me. I saw it many multiple times every week for a few years. Sometimes even twice in a night. Plus it was more than just what I saw, it was how the room felt when it was there. I could wake up and know it was there before I even had the courage to look that direction. I felt that it hated me and enjoyed terrorizing me. I could even sometimes feel that it was super angry that it was unable to just tear me to pieces which it wanted to do but couldn't for some reason. I prayed a lot as a child so maybe I was protected? Who knows! But shadow people exist!

When I was 14 I was touched by a shadow person. It left a feeling in my soul of pure sorrow, hate, and darkness when it touched my shoulder. I have and will never feel as scared or as many bad feelings in one moment ever again. I'm also sure I had not fallen asleep before it came into the room that night.

I've experienced sleep paralysis and I want to share it. I remember it like it happened yesterday.
A couple weeks ago, maybe more. I was sound asleep and then I randomly woke up. It was around 4am, I couldn't see that well for one I wear glasses and two, my eyes weren't adjusted to the dark. But while my eyes were adjusting, I felt a presence in my room, a bad feeling came over me and then I felt something on my chest. When my eyes finally adjusted, I look up right side of my bed, what I seen scared me. And I'm a hard guy to scare. I saw a tall pure pitch black figure with dark glowing red eyes, it was darker than my room. I seen it had it's arms down in front of it and I noticed it had it's hands on my chest. I couldn't move and I hard a hard time breathing. But here's the thing, I could speak, I remember telling it to leave me alone but I couldn't say one name.... That name was Jesus.
Everytime I tried to say His Name, the figure pushed down harder on my chest and I heard it growling. Everytime I tried to call on Jesus, the figure would push down harder, everytime I would open my mouth to say His Name, the pain in my chest grew, the harder it became to breathe. I swear I was on the verge of passing out...
But then out of nowhere, my Bible for some reason fell like it was pushed down and the figure let go like it was startled, the thing was looking where my Bible fell. Soon as it looked away, I yelled as loud as I possibly could "JESUS!". That dark figure screamed and left, I heard it running, it was running fast.
I remember a peace coming over me, I felt safe, secured, and loved. And I heard a voice say "You're safe now, rest my son". When I heard that voice, I immediately knew it was God. Right before I feel back asleep, I seen 3 men in my room. They was tall, had swords in their hands and shields in another, armor and they was bright. One stood at my door to my room and the other two stood at my window. When I looked right, another one appeared but had a different appearance. I seen a white robe, a red sash, a black belt I guess around the waste but I couldn't see the face, the face was so bright. I knew who it was, it was Jesus. I remember Him telling me that everything is alright and that He will protect me. Then I fell asleep with Him standing beside me and angels guarding my room. I will never forget that night.

When I was a kid (somewhere around 8 to 10) I believe I encountered a shadow person while I was walking to school. It had just snowed the night before and the sun was out. I was walking and minding my own business like I always did when this black figure appeared about 5 feet infront of me and was walking towards me. I was not able to see a face or any details other than it being humanoid and walking on 2 legs. At the time there was no wind and all I could hear was my footsteps in the snow. I had a feeling something was off and when it walked by me I felt a slight breeze, I turned around about 2 seconds later and it was gone. I never saw one again after that but it is definitely something I will never forget.
Interesting about the breeze, there's another comment on here where when the shadow left/moved there was a seemingly unexplainable breeze in a house with no air flow. Interesting similarity
My shadow person story only happened once when I was sixteen. I awoke at daylight to see a shadow man standing by my bed. It was like looking at your shadow on a wall in bright sunlight only It was grey and not black, no features, no eyes were visible.
I wasn’t stressed out, or on drugs, or sleep deprived, etc.

I read a paper in college once that talked about how the brain can see faces out of things that aren’t faces. Kinda of like how a smiley face (: such as this one isn’t a face but we can easily see it as one. This has been observed to get worse when people are scared or stressed as a sort of self defense. So that you can spot potential danger quicker. All that combined with the fact some people are simply scared or apprehensive about the dark makes me pretty sure this is just simply your mind seeing “faces” out of things that aren’t really faces.
Go to Zak Bagan's Haunted Museum in Vegas. Do everything that is not usually in the tour like peggy the doll, the dybbuk box etc. If you don't return from that thinking otherwise about ghost or spirits, then it'll make me look like an idiot. But if not, you will have a better perspective in life and a little more open minded. A non believer friend of mine went to that museum and came back becoming more open minded with ghosts and stuff.

Hahaha weak!! I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night, completely paralyzed, and seeing hallucinations much, much worse than just shadow people...and I slept through it all! Because I'm a stubborn man who absolutely, refuses to let any ghosts get a single ounce of fear or horror out of me!! (If these hallucinations of mine are actual ghosts, that is.)

I saw a shadow person last night, I was laying in bed with my arms by my side and it was really dark in my room. I saw a skinny figure over 7 feet tall near the hallway and I tried to yell/raise my arms but I couldn't. It made a noise and quickly came to my side of the bed in front of my face, I immediately woke up and it was lighter in my room because of the moonlight outside. My arms were by my side like in this encounter.
I told my wife in the morning what happened and she told me about shadow people. Never heard about any of this until today.
Here’s my experience with one from about 18 years ago.
When I was around 8 or 9 I was awoken in the middle of the night by something shaking me and when I opened my eyes I saw something standing in my doorway at the end of my bed, I assumed it was my sister so I asked what she wanted and it responded by saying “happy”, which I don’t know if it was a question or statement, creepy either way. So after a few seconds I sat up and crawled to the foot of my bed to push what I believed was my sister but I ended up going through whatever it was and it slowly evaporated with my head literally inside of this dark mist and that was it, it was gone.
It had to of been at least 8 feet tall and had no real shape or features, it just looked like a person with a black sheet draped over them. For the next 2 years I slept facing my wall out of fear of seeing it again.

I always felt safer sleeping facing the wall because I felt like if I faced the other way I would end up seeing something I didn't want to. I don't know what age I started to do it but I haven't stopped doing it. 😅

People can believe what they want, but I can attest to seeing one at least once, and had two friends with me who saw and felt the exact same thing. It was 2017 in September and we were taking an evening walk together at a park. Two of us felt like we were being watched, the third didn't feel anything for a while. When he did (I should add that he doesn't believe in the supernatural) we started booking it to where my friend's car was parked down the block, because we all felt an inexplicable feeling of fright and that we were being watched. We finally turned around when we were across the street from her car, and about 50 or so feet away and from the other side of a fence, we all saw the same thing: A tall, very tall figure, at least 6 and a half feet tall. It was like a shadow, we all concluded that it was masculine, and it had very long, dark hair, and bright red eyes which either glowed or reflected the dim street lamp. Needless to say, we ran the rest of the way to the car, started it, and drove off. Looking back as we drove, whatever it was now stood in the middle of the road, but it still seemed encased in shadow despite being right near the street lamp. We had all felt this unmistakable sort of fear and danger, and we didn't go back to that park again.

I remember my first real experience with a shadow person. It happened when i was playing games on my couch in my bedroom. For context my door is to the far right of my room and my tv is to the left of the door. My couch is opposite of the tv facing both. Although all i need to do is just turn slightly to the right i can see the entrance but majority of the time your just focused on the tv. No reason to watch the door or anything. Basically one day i was playing games and for some reason out of the corner of my eye i felt a presence. Like the feeling of being watched and it gave me goosebumps so i quickly glanced to the right to just see if the cat or something was there and for a brief second i saw a massive black figure standing there. Then i heard a massive gush of wind and nothing. Me i jumped when i saw it and flew off my couch. Freaking out i had no idea so slowly approached my door to see what was going on. At first i thought oh mabey my mind is playing tricks on me as i was focused on my game. Although what took me off was the flag attached to my door was moving like wind caused it move. So i right away went to clear the house incase it was somebody but all the doors were locked and it was just me. The cat was even sleeping upstairs on the couch. To this day i dont know exactly what happened but i know 100% that flag had no reason to be moving as no windows were open and no ac vent was near it. Even my couch is over 10ft away so me getting up would have made no impact.

I was playing Xbox alone in my house and the two small dogs on the bed with me started to bark towards the door. I looked over and a static/shade like silhouette was peering at us from the door to the left. All I seen was the upper torso as if it was leaning into the doorway. I flipped and grabbed the firdt weaponish item I could find within seconds (deer antlers) to defend myself. Next thing ya know it's gone. I've never ever seen a ghost or thing like that ever before or after.

When I was younger (around 13) I was sleeping over my friends house. She had always told me she thought it was haunted. We were watching a film in her bedroom and the door was open so you could see into the hallway. The hallway lights were on and a big shadow figure slowly went across the hallway. It was about 7ft tall so as high as the ceiling. I was so scared but I didn't say anything to her as I didn't want to freak her out. I had another experience when I was playing The Sims at hers and something breathed right into my left ear and her dog started to growl at bark at me. I used to always get weird vibes in that house.

I don't believe in the paranormal/supernatural but I have had an experience with these "shadow people" and I would have dismissed it as a dream if my sister had not been there and seen it too. Freakiest thing I ever experienced.

me and my sisters saw these shadow people all the time I think our house was haunted with them we saw them so much we weren't even scared.we told each other every encounter we had. Most the ones i saw seem to be children like us at the time when we moved from that house i never saw them again
I haven't seen one in years but it's good to know I'm not the only one. I'm not against science but I don't think there are rational explanations for all of my shadow people experiences, but maybe some.
It's strange that this phenomenon along with sleep paralysis and even DMT experiences are all the same when it comes to different people's experiences. There's something to that
They are a lower Astral Realm Love/4th Dimension entity. We travel there when we dream. Only the lower astral realm is negative, every other dimension is positive and loving. 3-D earth is the other negative place in our lives. Sleep paralysis we are stuck there and DMT , well who knows what dimension we reach while doing that.

When I was a little kid I used to see shadow people in my childhood home. Me and my sisters used to share a room and all 3 of us would see them. We would always check with each other to see where they were standing in the room. We always saw 3 of them in usually they were at the foot of the bed, by the closet or the door. I lived in that house until I was 8 after we moved I didn't see them anymore until I stayed at a hospital for a week when I was 9 because I was having issues with my heart and I saw a shadow person again. He was always in the corner of the hospital room I was in. I thought I was tripping because i was alone in the room so I couldn't check with anyone to see if they saw what I saw. Until a nurse walked in to do vitals on my like at 2 am and screamed because saw it in the corner and asked me if I saw it.

Guess I'll share my experience. When I was about 8 or 9 I was at a church camp and encountered them. I woke up from my bunk bed and saw two figures in the darkness. I tried to see if it was any of the other kids but it wasn't. I proceeded to stand there and watch them for probably an hour until an adult came.

I was the first one in my family to see a tall bald shadow man walk rapidly from my bathroom to kid’s room. Usually I am horrified with the thought of anything paranormal but this shadow man gave me an overwhelming sense of peace… strangest of all is that about 20min later I get a call saying my dad had passed away about 15min before… we were expecting him to go due to his pancreatic cancer… and I did get to spend 3 1/2months with him but one of the last things he said to me was that he wished he would have got to meet my 2 youngest kids… so when I saw this shadow figure walking from the bathroom to kids room then got the phone call saying he had passed away I just figured it was my dad coming to meet the kids before he could move on so I told nobody and thought it was a 1 time event but when all of my kids at one point or another told me they saw the same shadow person walking the same path it really made me question if it was my dad after all especially because my youngest 3 at the time came to me and asked “ Mommy who is the man in my closet” that freaked me out and made me immediately go check the closet petrified that I would most likely find an actual human being…. But I found no one and my son said he was gone even though he had no where to go especially being in a second story… I asked my 3 year old to describe exactly what he saw and he said “ it was a man dressed in all black with a black hooded sweatshirt pulled over his head. But he didn’t have a face it was completely black and the man walked from the bathroom to my room then walked into my closet and just stood there watching me” I asked how he knew he was watching him if he said he had no face he said “he had a face I just couldn’t see it it was just all black” after that I decided to tell my husband everything from the beginning and my husband has never believed in anything paranormal it was even more crazy that he confessed that he too had seen this shadow man walking from the bathroom to the kid’s room but decided not to say anything to anyone because he didn’t want to freak us out… so now I am not sure what to think because although he gives me a feeling of peace he scares everyone else in my family… and all I read and hear about shadow people is that they are not very nice or peaceful…

We had a 7ft shadow figure that I saw standing at the end of my bed when I was young, they make you feel upset. The neighbours told us a depressed old man with no friends or family lived there for years before us.

Not in my most memorable experience. I woke up to see a shadow man standing in the doorway, I was not paralyzed. It started walking towards me and I fricking BOLTED through it and to my parents out in the loungeroom. I could see it clearly, light was coming in from the hallway

If they keep bugging you then just stay comfy in your house, and if things get worse like they physically hurt you then you can call an expert or ask what the shadow people want. But it's up to you if you wanna give them what they want.

I was in the back bedroom of an older house when I was 23. The tv was next to the door to the room, and it was still around 6pm, plenty of daylight left. All the lights in the room and backroom were on. I was watching a documentary, when suddenly something perked around the corner. It was small, about 3ft tall. Pure blackness. But it had shape... it peaked around the corner, darted back, then slowly peaked around the corner again. I rubbed my eyes in disbelief, shaking my head. It was still there, looking at me. After about 5 seconds more, it just disappeared.
The most utterly terrifying event of my life. You would have to experience something like that to believe it, and it's something that haunts me to this day. They're real, and whatever it was, I felt like it was playing with me. It wanted me to see it. And I know it knew I was afraid, like it was amused.

Oof, I remember hallucinating these shadow people during periods of sleeping poorly and enduring stress from varied sources. I'm glad I've not experienced a drowsy hallucination of the shadow people for a long time, as it's quite scary. Part of my brain knows the hallucination isn't real, but it still causes me a fright for the first few moments before the hallucination fades.

Last night, I was watching youtube videos, my room door was open just so slightly, I closed my light inside my room(but outside the room there is also a hallway light)
I was watching a Hermitcraft video, when the video is almost done, I started getting chills, so I put on my blanket, then at that very moment I saw a shadowy like person running through the hallway, I looked at the hallway and there's no one there, my whole family was sleeping at that time(2:43)so I think that I was just tired, so I searched the whole hallway (to my room and to the other room) there's no one there, strangely enough I didn't heard any running sounds(our floor is noisy when someone's running through the hallway)when I got back to my room I saw the thing again so i tried turning on the light, It was just an electric fan, so
I just tried falling asleep. Then the morning came, I told them about last night, strangely they thought it was me running.

I've actually experienced this, I keep seeing these figures at the corner of the room, I always feel a cold presence at my left but my AC is at the right, I knew something was wrong. Then there was it, it ran towards me revealing it's red glowing eyes, sharp teeth and revealing skeleton, I only have a few miliseconds to look and it never happened again since.

One of these things terrorized me and my friend when we were younger, not something I could ever forget...
It's crazy because I remember seeing the hat man when I was younger but he had came up the stairs where the lights were and I was in the dark, all i remember was him looking at me then when i kept asking him who he was he just put his hands to his face and shushed me. After he did that I cried out to my mom and he walked to the bathroom, after waiting for some time I got up and to go check on what he was doing but it turns out he was gone. I was so scared and i remember it to this day.
This is a true story believe me or not . i remember it like it was yesterday.

Other people might have different experiences but I encountered something similar twice when I kid. Once when I was playing in a playground and I felt my cousin walking behind me so I looked back and it was a middle aged man, I can't work out the face tho, and idk if it's my memory but I felt something cold on my shoulders at that time, maybe it's the hand. The second one was a few days or weeks when I was in my phone, I saw it but it looks like it has no hair (idk about the last time) so I jumped and ran into the living room, I never told anyone else. I kept it to myself cause I think no one would believe. Note that both disappeared when I blinked a few times. Sorry about the inconsistencies, my memory is not the best out there.

I had my first experience of this happen to me a month or two ago and wish I didn't. That night I had been drinking wine and was just having a good time, nothing crazy happened till I passed out. In the dream, it didn't even feel like I was dreaming, just felt like I woke up in the dead of night, but my body wasn't moving like it normally does, felt like I was moving through water. I looked over to my wife's side of the bed and I saw this really tall and unusually skinny shadowy vapor humanoid figure with flashlights for eyes was hunched down examining my wife's feet and then my heart started beating extremely fast and somehow the thing knew I was watching it and turned to stare at me, and as it did I saw another one that was really tall standing at the end of my side of the bed, then I started saying "God make it stop" over and over till I woke up in a much more well lit room with nothing happening. I've heard these stories on and off over the years but didn't ever experience this till recently and I certainly didn't have them on my mind during the time this happened, easily one of scariest things I've had happen to me.
I've seen shadow people ever since I was little.
My therapist tells me I either have psychosis from how depressed I am, or I have oncoming schizophrenia.
They don't make me feel scared (except 1 instance I had) but I do always feel very curious. I wish there was a definitive answer for what they exactly they are & what their presence means.
They are drawn to negative emotion. Prove to your self what they are. If you see one, tell it directly: "In the name of Jesus, go away." Once they vanish you will know the truth. My 6 year old kid made one go away this way.
Maybe it’s your phobia or whatever it called (no offence but I can’t spell it in my mind at the moment)

Actually, I think that the shadow people could just be our imagination. I was scared of the paranormal until I was 9, some two years ago. It all starts when friends or relatives start telling us about ghosts and demons. This all must have started from our ancestors just trying to scare kids so they behave and soon the people started have feelings of something paranormal observing them. Since we all know this, we constantly fear ghosts and shadowy people, and hence start having hallucinations. Once we search it (google or any website), other people with having experience of similar things write it and we get it in our head that it is paranormal activity. Also, sometimes if we see a person at the night or even day, they sometimes appear black (in night under light) and we feel we are being watched. This is also completely normal as all of us have at some point of our lives heard ghostly stories. Many like Annabelle are famous and hence we all see similarities in the shadows. I do not have any other explanation for this. Who knows maybe it’s the paranormal haunting us or physics from different dimensions. 👻

I truly believe it's something supernatural. I had seen the Hat Man (or as I called him 'The Man in Black') as a child at the house where I grew up. My siblings and my mom did too, and we all saw him separately until we all talked about it one day. We always saw him in the same places, usually either the upstairs or downstairs hallways. Same description, a guy in all black wearing a black hat, etc. I'm 31 now, and I haven't seen any shadow people or hat men or anything in any of the places I've lived since moving out of my mom's. Meanwhile when I was about 20, I took a friend to my mom's without telling her about the house basically being haunted, and she saw the hat man. She thought it was my brother, but he was outside, and she got really freaked out. I believe it's supernatural because it was only when we were awake and only at that house. None of my siblings have spotted him since they moved out either.

I've seen them a few times in my life last time back was back in college, I thought it was all in my mind and never told anyone for fear of been ridiculed or labeled crazy. What intrigues me is that many people have seen them and further more that many of us have seen the man with a hat (once I saw shadow dog). In my experience they didn't have eyes and seemed to just be walking by minding their own business

I've seen the Hat Man 2 times and my friends who were with me saw him two, it was horrifying. Btw it was broad day light. Recently I've been having nightmares of him.

I saw one as a kid. For 2 years (ages 3-5) I lived in Georgia in a home in Athens. It was a 2 story house, and my room was directly across from the top of the stairs on the top floor, maybe 25-35 feet away. At night I would go to my room, waiting on promises from my mother that she would come and snuggle with me. My bed was positioned so I could see out the door, and would watch the stairs intently, waiting. For reference, to the right of my room was a computer desk, to the left was a bathroom, and my brothers room was just to the right of the top of the stairs. Every night I would see a shadow coming up the stairs, and be hopeful it was my mom. But as it rounded the corner I could not see a person to whom the shadow belonged. It was approximately 6 foot, maybe 5'10", and every night it would go into the restroom and I wouldn't see it again after that until the next night.
Shadow people are prolly just like us in a different dimension fading back and forth between our reality and theirs
A few years ago for 5 months straight, every night I would wake up at 3 AM and see the hat man in the corner of my room looking at me. I would stare back at him for maybe 15 minutes before feeling extremely tired and passing out again. After those 5 months I still saw him but instead of being in the corner of my room he was right next to my bed looking down at me. After about of month of that he randomly stopped appearing and I haven't seen him since. For most of it I thought is was sleep paralysis because I never tried to move. But after a few months I got used to it and when I saw him I would move into a more comfortable position, so I knew I wasn't paralyzed. I'm not sure what these things are and I kind of wish I had tried to talk to him.

i used to see them all the time,they very real to me, never talked about it much at all to anyone but they would show up often and when i looked at them they would dash out of view behind solid objects or just quickly away,one day,yes in the day,i was in my dads back yard,i was 63 yrs old and yes my dad was alive,when the shadow 'man" would not leave me alone,i had seen him many times but not more than twice at a time,that day he seemed to be taunting me, as i was walking around he kept showing up left,right,mostly near which i thought unusual,i saw him about 15 times in about 2 minutes,so i started talking to him,i told him i dont know who you are, i dont know what you want,i cant help you,you cant help me, i cant hurt you and you cant hurt me,and he disappeared and i have never seen him since,they looked humanoid but did not seem hostile,for those creeped out try talking to them,they may go away

They are real. I always find it amusing when people who have never seen them pretend to explain them away. Don’t know if it makes them feel better or if they just like to feel smart, but I’m embarrassed for them. I get it though. I used to be one of them. Living in ignorance while pretending to live in the light of science is extremely common these days.
U can’t show fear they feed off of that they dead they can’t hurt you if that was the case or intention they would’ve did it or tried I think they just be wanting to feed off fear

This seems like textbook psychosis, as it's directly linked to your emotions (You confront it and don't show fear, it goes away). Are you on medication? I've heard that certain ones can induce these visions
I see shadow people almost everyday and im friends with one, i named her Layla and she appears in my dreams sometimes! She likes hanging out in any places that has books so im guessing she likes books, she sometimes gives me answers when im in class :)

Here’s a story I was sleeping because I had school the next day. I woke up randomly at 2 AM having a strange feeling to look at my door. So I did, and I saw a shadow figure about 7ft tall. I could talk so not sleep paralysis. I said “dad?” It didn’t move, I hid behind the top bunk safety wall (safety wall is for no falling off when sleeping) Then after a few minutes I looked at the door, it was still there. I hid under the blankets, after 1 minute. I looked back, it was gone. I ran so fast I couldn’t see anything but a blur. I got to my parents room and got under the blankets. Then the strangest thing happened, I felt a hand grab my foot I pulled my foot up and that’s where it ended. After that day, I never forgot. I asked my dad, he said “I think it was a demon presence”
Edit: I asked other people they have seen it too and could move and speak. Just a different setting.

Yeah I've only seen them a few times.They just seemed to have observed me. The one that stood out was when I took a walk at night, wide awake, I noticed a dark figure walking towards me and we walked passed each other, we both looked at each other and it did not have a face so I immediately looked back and it vanished. On my way back from my walk it was there to the entrance of the complex. I ran towards it, it ran and I couldn't see it. That's when I reconfigured the situation. I was like wtf just happened. People that haven't seen them have no idea.
Finally! Someone besides me saw one while wide awake outside on the street!
I saw mine at around 12/1pm during the daytime. My sister and I were in two different room but could both see our sliding back door from where we were standing which was open a bit because it was a nice day out. We had these heavy drapes and it was behind them just staring at my while I cut veggies. I looked at it for only a second and it quickly realized I saw it and swooped out the door. My sister came into the kitchen with a shocked look on her face and I’m sure my was the same. I asked if she had seen what I saw and she said yes. It definitely was human but it also wasn’t necessarily ghost like. Tall black capes figure with either a hood or a hat on. This was about 15 years ago so it’s hard to remember the exact physical details. Wild
I remember a shadow person wanting to play hide and seek with my sister and I. I thought it was our Aunt trying to hide in a dark corner of the house. I called out and said gotcha. My Aunt responded right behind me. I immediately turned the lights on to see nobody there.
When I was very very little I remember there being a shadow in my closet and I saw it only once, and a couple years later while in 4th or 5th grade I was home alone after school and while walking to my room I stopped because the shadow on the wall seemed off, so I lifted my hand but it didn’t lift it back, so I booked it out of there. Was it my wild imagination or something more? Who knows. What I do know is that I felt that I was never alone in that house and didn’t want to enter alone

When I was a kid I planned on staying up all night, something I would regret years later, I sat in my parents bed and waited until they were asleep, I stood there for about 50 minutes until the door starts to open (I was like 4 at the time), a shadow-like person enters the room and stares at me, I start to stare too since I had no idea of what to do, I looked for my parents but they were all in the same bed as me and there was no one else in my house. Some minutes later the shadow person puts the finger over its mouth (like if it wanted me to be quiet) and lurks away...
To this day no one believes my story but I can swear I saw someone that night, it frightens me every day
My bff said she was hearing voices in her head, I thought she was crazy and decided to play along but then one day I was sitting outside, and I saw the shadow person and the next day I told her and she asked me to explain what it looked like and then she said that a couple years ago she saw one, but she never thought anything of it until now and for a while I refused to go outside when it was dark. It also doesn’t help that I live near a woods.
