The fact that later on he was the one who saved Tokoyami and almost saved Bakugou too really showed how sorry and remorseful he was for betraying and putting in danger his friends 😭

I am not sure if AFO revealed Aoyama's identity to the league when this attack happened. Chapter 335 implied that Dabi didn't know there was a traitor in UA, so I suppose AFO kept that info to himself. But it would also have been stupid of AFO to not tell the league to leave this particular kid unharmed, because what else would have stopped his leaker from getting killed by his own people?
My theory? We know that before this attack Shigaraki had given the league a list that told them what to do with certain kids: kidnap Bakugou and kill Midoriya. So I believe that AFO must have also slipped in Aoyama's name and ordered them to ignore him without explaining why.
As for this scene though, it's quite ambiguous if Dabi actually saw Aoyama. In the manga he actually thinks, "did he see me?" So there's no way of knowing. I think Dabi genuinely got distracted lol.

@@ema3287 We know that AFO was mostly just letting Shigaraki play around so his hatred could grow. I don't think he actually thought that a wielder of OFA could be killed that easily. Besides, all this is assuming that AFO actually supervised Shigaraki's plans in such detail. From what we know, he granted Shigaraki full leadership and left Deku and Aoyama to fend for themselves. He can be pretty chaotic that way.

When did he figure out what One For All was? How did he find Tenko Shimura in the first place? How did he know when to explode Nagant? He's just omniscient and omnipotent lol

That’s a big red flag to Aoyama being the U.A Traitor. Dabi had the chance to attack or at least say that he saw Aoyama hiding, but he didn’t which is quite out of character because he tried to burn the student when they were with Vlad King in class. Dabi wouldn’t have let his enemies slide like that

You've been warned...
Aoyama said his quirk was like Midoryia's and that it wasn't quite compatible with his body. That should've been a major red flag that something wasn't right, but they brought up the concerns about quirk singularity and it's theory how quirks will one day become too powerful for the body to handle a few times in the series to hide it.
If this was done on purpose then good on the writers, that was brilliant.

The fact that his body isn't compatible with his quirk isn't a red flag because there's still Dabi. His quirk is 100% his own but it burns him alive.
I mean, I never thought much of it because to me it seemed like a neat way to bring in disability into the story. Besides, even Uraraka suffers from nausea while using her quirk on herself for too long, so Aoyama's issues didn't seem all that unusual.
But it does make sense that it was a foreign quirk that his body couldn't handle. All Might told Midoriya way back in season 2 that not everyone who got a quirk from AFO could handle it, and some even turned zombie-like because of the load.
What confuses me though is why this is the case. Chapter 304 told us that only quirkless people have enough room in their bodies to handle the load of OFA, so why is Aoyama's quirkless body not good enough for naval laser? Is it because the person who previously had it also had a particular bodily mutation that supported the quirk better?
Me playing hide and seek in 1st grade but not getting tagged out cuz I gave the seeker a candy bar before the match:
We did that in grade 6, us and the grade 5's would play a huuuge game of gangup (where if you get tagged then you join the taggers) and people would be bribing the taggers left and right

When you realize Dabi could have taken him down right then and there (I'm an anime-only but I've received several spoilers XD)
So everyone's saying that it makes sense why Dabi didn't kill Aoyama, but why would Dabi know in the first place? Shigaraki said in his talk with Kurogiri that he wasn't even sure if Dabi and the rest of the Vanguard Action Squad would succeed or if they would fail and be captured. So why would Shigaraki tell Dabi and the others about Aoyama being a traitor when there's a chance that they would be captured and blab to the police to help themselves? Dabi probably just thought that Aoyama was a weak kid who'd either drop out of the hero course or get himself killed by being a coward anyway someday.
Dabi was the leader of the attack. He must've been involved in the planning or at least be informed about aoyama. yes, he would kill every ua student he sees, so they at least have to warn him because if aoyama dies they no longer have a mole
It doesn't make sense for them to not reveal to Dabi who is the traitor. They needed the traitor alive and what if he accidently killed the traitor without knowing he's the traitor?
Because the villains do take care of their own and working for them means they will make sure you're not caught in the crossfire as long as you stay out of the way. That's what I love about these guys is that they have a code of honor.
@Grecia Chan 10 But he failed the test when he attacked Mr Compress. So I'm pretty sure he is on All for one's death list now. He is just waiting for a chance if Aoyama himself betrays the league and then catch him red handed.
@@imnotcreative3004 They didn't have the specifics of the training camp, so they had no idea of the test of courage. Shigaraki probably thought they were just going to draw out the pro heroes while everyone was sleeping and then grab Bakugo amidst the chaos. Aoyama wouldn't even come into the equation in that senario and if the students were clustered together they'd most likely be guarded by pros so the chances of Aoyama being killed by a villain would be slim. Besides if they knew about Aoyama being the traitor then why wouldn't Dabi mention how they almost lost Bakugo due to Aoyama? It wouldn't make sense especially since Aoyama could have just went back to camp after Dabi left him.
I'm actually surprised that there were no theory videos throughout the years noticed This and instead Made all these other theories about other characters especially toru hagakure being a Traitor without any evidence.
It was mostly Kaminari i believe. And even I believed it was him entirely until his main part in the villain manor raid.

In the manga she was absent during the class rep vote (when the villains first infiltrated)
Like Aoyama there wasn’t any real evidence towards her location at the usj attack, and her claims seemed to contradict Todoroki’s statement.
It was her idea to go to the mall Shigaraki conveniently was also at.
And unlike Aoyama she had never been involved in any fights against the league.
This of course all turned out to be wrong, and I am glad it turned out to be Aoyama as he’s much more interesting than Toru, but I wouldn’t call it baseless.
They did but the theories kinda went into the background when he became a more likeable character. To some it was too obvious, giving him more attention so the reveal had a big impact and others not obvious enough as aoyama was weird in general at this point in the story, not to mention he saved Tokoyami which cleared him in some people’s eyes. Toru also made sense since she wasn’t where she claimed to be in the USJ, suggested going to the mall when Deku was attacked by shigaraki, some sus images when the girls were sleeping in the training camp arc and being invisible is the ultimate spy quirk. Obviously doesn’t hold up now it’s revealed but was probably the most plausible next to aoyama (even tho the Dennis theory was really popular but just didn’t add if for me personally)

I think he got his quirk a year or two before the UA entrance exam and study for it. He needs to know the basics of his quirk and be able to control it. So he probably did take part in the entrance exam and was able to pass it.
