Just to fill you in on the guitarist situation. You have Lee Malia who plays both Lead Guitar & Rhythm Guitar, and Matt Nicholls who plays Bass guitar. Previously, Jona & Curtis played the rhythm guitar and were full time members of the band, but after each of those members leaving the band. Lee, (who has been a longtime trusted member with creative input) took over the role of playing the rhythm guitar during studio sessions. But obviously, Lee can't play both on stage during live sessions, so they need a stand in rhythm guitarist for tours (i.e John Jones)
Matt Nicholls is the drummer, Matt Kean is the bassist. Oli, Jordan, and Lee all record rhythm guitars in studio as well. Oli is actually credited as the rhythm guitarist on Sempiternal.
@@drekken8442 Thank you for correcting the band member's names and roles. Wouldn't it be something to SEE Oli actually play guitar on stage at a live show?!? I wonder if he ever has, and if not, WHY?
@claires_epiphany youre welcome. And I think it's just because it's kind of difficult to play and sing. Especially with all the galavanting he does. But if you watch the Ludens behind the scenes video (not the one of them making the video, the one of them making the song) you'll see him with a guitar.
@@drekken8442 For some reason, your description - "galavanting around" has me 😂 it's so accurate though. I've never been to one of BMTH's live shows. Like for real: My goal in life is to see Oli's signature galavanting around, aggressive screams and signature falsettos. All the "feels" a person can have/get from looking and listening to one gifted, talented and amazing human being and extraordinary band😍❤️🤟
I often notice Matt in live stuff. He moves around a lot usually. He's VERY noticeable in the live performance of Ludens in Tokyo. Also, he's gorgeous, so. XD
Curtis Ward was the original rhythm guitarist, when he left Jonah Weinhofen replaced him, and Jonah was replaced by Jordan Fish, who wrote and recorded most of the rhythm guitars in addition to his keyboard work. The current rhythm guitarist is John Jones, and hes a touring member only.
Dunno if you guys noticed, but Oli was reading the Lyrics to the song the entire time. Also the added scream vocals he did wasn't part of the song but it was awesome that he threw them in there, definitely added to the song!
watch their house of wolves at wembley and leeds...ul see the band in a wild state....even in their royal albert show the band was pretty crazy w a mad unison headbanging and crowd with wall of deaths and moshpits
BBC radio 1 hides amazing gems like Bastille cover of We can't stop by Miley Cyrus adding the bridge of another song and starting the song with Eminem Lose Yourself. Or Hozier cover of Do I wanna know from Arctic Monkeys.
I wasn't thrilled with their Die4u performance so I avoided clicking Mood. And honestly if I hadn't been watching you two, I probably would've peaced out in the first verse with Jordan's vocals but I'm very glad I persevered as Oli killed it and I loved that they made it their own with the heaviness.
@@anym0re564 What shit exactly? I just said I would've stopped listening, just as I would if Oli sounded bad or if a guitar hadn't been tuned correctly.
I just disagree with the comment about the band. Oli is the star, but Jordan, John (one of the guitarists) and Matt (the bassist) are pretty active live. Maybe they just weren't feeling this song...
I won't lie, I don't like the original music or the lyrics, but BMTH gave their "face" to this cover and it was interesting, but not amazing. Anyway, it's an excellent cover.
Jordans vocals in this cover were definitely a let down, all I can guess is that maybe it was a rough day, or a song he didn't know well enough or like, he was off key a lot
I honestly hate the original and I have to admit, I kinda hate this version too, albeit a little less Lol. No doubt BMTH is a great band but this is a pass for me 🤷🏻♂️ I still “thumbs up” the video though because YOU GUYS, I thoroughly enjoy 😁

No auto tune and still sounds great

Thanks for clarifying. They said the thing about Curtis & I was like "no fucking way did they squash that"

I think most people who go on Triple J’s Like A Version read the lyrics the whole time too haha.
If you’re going down the live lounge path check out bring me the horizon covering Billie Eilish’s when the party’s over.

They are usually calm and chill in the live lounge.

You are out of your mind, Oli has a voice that stands out above all. Jordan needs his microphone taken away from him!
