    Great test review Mark - very concise. For the price it seems toy grade but the spec it feels more hobby grade with the waterproofing, throttle and steering trims, bead lock wheels, lights and an impressive 45 minute run time. A nifty little machine for the price. Thumbs up mate and congrats on negotiating your first run with a pistol grip...👍👍.

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cheers Cosmo! Thanks for the kind words, always appreciated mate. Yes, I think I would definitely put this one into the "micro hobby grade" category! You pointed out the best of the specifications there! As for the pistol grip, Rob will confirm that I had a few issues - most of them edited out of course! Thanks for watching bud, and have a lovely weekend! :))

    The body supplied with this absolute bargain of a car reminds me a little of Daihatsu´s little 4Trak.
    I love the fact that the RTR comes with soft tyres - when it effortlessly clambered up that giant tree root it was, surely, the tyres rather than,say, the four-link suspension that made it possible.

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers my friend Del! Yes, I think it is a bargain at about £70! I see what you mean about the 4Trak resemblance!
      The tyres are as soft as you could get away with, any softer and the little car would squash them flat! Both Rob and I were astonished at how well it gripped and went over that root, we tried it several times and it never slipped once! I put it down to the tyres, too - great observation mate. Enjoy your Bank Holiday weekend! 👍🇬🇧 :))

    Hey great review mate. What a cool little thing. I'm just wondering how fiddly it is to work on if you had to repair it. Maybe it will never go wrong! Great shots in the water. A good test of the waterproofness of the GoPro too. Hope you've got a good weekend lined up. I'm off to the pub in a bit. Ric has done a video of a crawler challenge we did yesterday. You can find it on his RC Ricco channel if you fancy it. Have a good evening mate 😀🍺🍺🍺

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Pete. Yeah, I think it may be fiddly to work on with my sausage fingers! But there are only a few parts really, so a set of watchmakers screwdrivers should sort out most repair issues! Yeah, you can hear the water draining out of the GoPro microphone if you listen carefully! Already watched and commented on Rics vid mate - looks like a fun day out - you were in backflip city! Enjoy the beer or two that you have tonight, I'll toast you with my G&T later! :))

    It seems to be VERY waterproof!!! 😳 I'd be concerned about the Batry though... Lipos explode when wet. I would double shrink wrap the Batry.
    Carmine 🚂🚙

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Carmine! Yeah, no issues in the deep water, but thanks for the warning about the LiPo in the water - sage advice indeed! :)

    • @CarminesRCTipsandTricks
      @CarminesRCTipsandTricks 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm guessing it doesn't have a very potent Batry...
      But still be careful. The only thing that puts out a Lipo fire quickly is CO2 or burying it under deep soil.
      Water makes the 🔥 🔥 even more aggressive!!! 😳
      I finally switched to Lipos though... I figured that they sell millions of them all over the World. They're not as sensitive as some make them out to be.
      Like any HazMat materials (including Ammonia, Chlorine, Bleach and GASOLINE), it warrants respect and common sense handling.
      Should you or Rob ever decide to switch, DO NOT order them from China! They can't travel by Air, and it could take Months to get!! 😖😳😳😤
      They are though, far superior to NiMH in performance, runtimes and longevity.
      Just a thought...

      @eriksimca9409 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CarminesRCTipsandTricks dipping a lipo in water is fine as long as you know the battery hasnt been scuffed up or anything, theres so many layers of other things that wraps it that unless you have cut or drilled through the battery it should not react to water, as that was a brand new battery i wouldnt be worried. But if you like to be extra safe using some plasti dip or other protective material you can do so.

    Good overview Mark. The tyres are really impressive, as is the battery. The Pup only came with a 130mah NiMH. I bought two 300mah lipo's for it. Much better performance and run time. But it did come with 4 x AA's (cue fanfare) lol : )) ps:- your links to Bangood aren't working for me mate?

      @@MarkBryanRC You're welcome Mark 👍 I would also advise you to get a Lipo safe bag for storing and charging your battery. You can't be too careful with those things, no matter how small they may be. There isn't a bag as small as these Lipos (I searched for one for mine) but the smallest ones available, which are big in comparison to your battery, are definitely worth a few extra £'s for safety and peace of mind my friend 😊

    Are any of these new 1/24 all good or what? Everyone seems to like them a lot.

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Vapletrichs Gne. Well, I think this one is excellent, especially for the cost. But you need to approach a run with a 1/24 very differently to how you would with a 1/10. Tiny obstacles and terrain features become massive challenges to the tiny little truck - just look at the tree root and shallow water features in the test run at the end of this video. The water would barely cover a wheel of a 1/10, but the 1/24 was submerged! Great fun in my opinion! :)

    Does it take a 2s lipo?

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Marcus - no, it comes with a 1S LiPo. I think if you put a 2S in it you would damage the ESC or motor. TBH, it has plenty enough power with the stock battery.

    Gearing seems a bit too high. A bit lurchy when launched; smallest throttle pull makes the car jump forward.

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Adi. I don't think the gearing is too high, it is very good for crawling and only goes at walking pace when full throttle. The controller is a bit tricky to get used to - after more practice I found I could drive smoother, without the car jumping forward.
