I can hear linkin park's numb playing in background as soon as the rock lee vs gaara scene starts lol. Gives me goose bumps every single time. It was like the most epic fight scene ever back when I was a kid. The premise of a character taking off extra weight that they have on them is nothing new. But I just love how the anime did it - the build up to the fight, the fight, the conclusion etc. They introduced the Rock Lee character by having him kicking Sasuke's ass without needing chakra - and Sasuke was like the prodigy character at that point of the story mind you. Turned out beside not able to use chakra, Lee was also using handicaps - the extra weight - that he finally decided to take off to beat Gaara - the super scary new character that they'd just introduced. That to me, as a kid, was like the coolest shit ever. And that imho is still one of the most memorable scene in any anime/animation. I may be a bit biased because Rock Lee is one of my favourite characters. He's the embodiment of the quote "He Is a Man of Focus, Commitment and Sheer Fucking Will" Edit: typos
That how you realize Naruto has very (very) good sakuga. The animation has not aged that much and is still very currrent. But seeing this when it was released was really crazy
