@@Logiconfireagree hopefully Nebraska can win these last two games because if not it’s going to be another long season until next football season to see if theirs improvement
Straight shooter. RB and WR coaches need to be looked at this offseason. It would do wonders to bring in veteran coaches at those positions who can recruit and coach at a high level.
Great addition to the staff, if it doesn't work for what's left of 2024 it's a great warm up for 2025 and Dana will have the time to get fully up to speed. Keep the faith Husker nation, GBR!
lol love his bluntness …. I hope he stays as OC for us next year. Gotta have someone like him - can’t coddle everyone … no improvement if you don’t push your limits
@@brianh4669 92-69 career record , 4-6 bowl game record, fired after 4 years at Houston (which is a no pressure job). Just think if I asked you two months ago your opinion of him- I guarantee you the majority of people would not want him calling plays in the BIG
@blackshirt5530 however, I would have. I'm 52 and I know football. This man is a top tier OC and play caller. Save this and get back to me exactly a year from now should he stay
Love; the candor, the fresh set of eyes, challenging those players that have so much more to contribute and rewarding those that do. Not to mention the improved play calls (in my opinion), especially during the Wisconsin game!!😅. He seems to have caused an awakening of the players and their competitive spirit ... night & day!
Now this sounds like an offensive coordinator. Maybe Satt just isn't good at communicating his thoughts to the media but Dana seems leaps ahead of Satt based on the way he communicates. Hopefully that will translate to the players as well and hopefully he sticks around so we can have some continuity going into spring ball and next season
He has straight answers no long winded explanations respect his blunt comments on player they need to hear it. I like rule but he is long winded and needs to be more stern with the guys
Start winning games in the first quarter. Start dominating games. Quit being afraid of winning. Quit waiting until 2 minutes are left to win a game. Teach dylan how to throw to open receivers, even letting the receiver run for 20, 30, 40, 50 extra yards. Teach the runners to look for open spaces to run. BOWL GAME.
im excited about him i mean i know it wasent perfect but considering the situation for him to come in that quickly and for it to look as good as it did is encouraging im no longer worried about the offense its the defense that is back to being the weak link i feel like the other big 10 schools have figured out tony whites defense and its pretty obvious hes not gonna be coming back wouldnt be surprised if doesnt coach the bowl game if we do get one
My take away: Honest to goodness, blunt, answers. I like that. I was surprised to hear about the run blocking being there but the backs not hitting the holes fast enough. I had felt it was both. Perimeter blocking... why does it take Dana being here to get that message across? We all knew it was an issue.
The play calling did feel better, even though the offense still couldn't be consistent or score much. Now if the players execute the plays better....... On defense, it feels like we haven't been able to stop the passing game much this season and last season too. Same issues there, every QB we play looks like Tom Brady. And on 3rd down it doesn't matter if they need 5 or 15 yards, we give it up way too often. What's wrong with Malachi Coleman? We need blocking on the edge and he's riding the bench even though he could be playing at this point and save his redshirt. And Jaylen Lloyd? He was exciting on the deep balls last season and now we hardly see him.
Nooooo, do your research on his type of offense- u want an air raid offense that sputters against good defenses ? No run game, been fired from 3 outlining programs that do not demand excellence
You have a lot work ahead of you coach. Don't get fired. You do the same thing the last coach did you will get fired too. You have to pass the ball. Sorry pass the ball and if the QB can't do that you need to bench him and recruit a new one in the off season.
An honest assessment that can only come from a man new to his surroundings. Outstanding. Get this man signed to a contract. GBR.
Right
Wait to see if there is improvement.

Didn't know a ton about Dana until this interview. Easy to root for him

Hopefully that young kid he mentioned playing on Saturday is Carter Nelson. It’s insane to keep a freak athlete like that off the field.
